What is the core skill to develop?
As of this first skill, I am willing to develop my time management related skills. While
having adequate time management skill, I will possibly become more effective as well as
efficient at my personal and professional life as it will made me realise the actual value of
time. Managing time while setting deadline can assist one individual to become productive at
their work while not having job related stress. Reason behind this is time management skill
can certainly allow an individual to make time for their personal matters in certain context.
Why is this core skill important? Why did I select this skill to reflect on? (use relevant
theories and concepts to support your answer)
Effective as well as efficient time management skill can allow me towards utilising the
greatest resource of all, which is time itself. The most important factor behind learning time
management skill is to become more productive while working for the same amount of time.
As an instance, if I do random things in 1 hour I am quite sure that I will not able to do much.
However, if I set some self-made deadlines then I will have some target to accomplish and it
will provide the advantage of conducting much more things than doing it randomly.
Moreover, I have selected for reflecting upon the skill since I think that time management
skill will ultimately improve my short time decision-making ability at certain extension
(White et al., 2017). Moreover, since stress is continuously becoming the daily part of our
life and time management might be able to reduce the stress, it further makes emphasis
towards the importance of learning time management.
In context to time management, Pareto Principle, which is an 80-20 rule, can be taken into
consideration. The 80-20 rule can be applied at different contexts. The theory state that from
100% of daily work, an individual only does 20% productive. However, they took the
majority of time to accomplish the 20% and ultimately they did not find much time to
perform these 80%. Thus, effective time management can assist at accomplishing the 80%
while having adequate time (Ghiasvand et al., 2017).

From a range of different instances, I found that I have some competency as well as expertise
at the skill. However, I still need to improve some of the aspects as I think that I am still
lacking greatly. However, my teachers as well as peers said that I have adequate time
management skill since I was quite effective as well as efficient at my time management
related skill at the time of giving group presentation.
Can you identify any contradictions from your analysis above? For example, is there a
match between how you see yourself and how others see you, or not?
Yes, I have found contradiction from previously described analysis. My peers as well as my
teachers said that I did not need any form of improvement at the sector since they think that I
am quite good in the exact skill. However, in personal I anticipate that I am not perfect in
managing time since I had observed from previous instance that I am lacking at making
decisions in a short time period. Therefore, I personally amend that I needed to improve the
entire time management skill at certain extension.
How might this skill help me in the future? (use references to support your argument)
In near future, the time management inherits the ability of helping me towards getting a
diverse opportunity to earn different things. As an instance, time management will assist me
to get the learning process from various instances that resulted into improved professional
career (Ertug and Faydali, 2018). Additionally, it will also assist me towards accomplish
more task while utilising shorter period.

What is the core skill to develop?
As per my second skill, I am wishing to develop resilience related skill set at certain
extension. The exact skill generally incorporates with the key ability of an individual to thrive
in different difficult situation at all over their professional career. It is quite an important skill
since it will allow me to not feel any form of stress at the time of thriving into professional
pressure at certain context. There are a number of different people that cannot perform up to
their full potential due to the extensive pressure. Having adequate resilience skill will
certainly assist these individuals to perform as per their anticipation.
Why is this core skill important? Why did I select this skill to reflect on? (use relevant
theories and concepts to support your answer)
Resilience as a key skill is quite important since it assists any personal towards assessing a
situation and give reaction in accordance with the situation. Resilience as a skill will allow
me to not collapse under any circumstances. Since I needed to go through several problems as
well as pressures throughout my professional career, it is quite useful for me to solve
different problems at certain extension.
A-B-C can be described as such a theory that explains the key need of resilience related skills
at certain extension. The theory further described that there are three elements regarding
resilience, which includes Beliefs, consequences and adversity. Adversity can be described
as such step when an individual faced a challenge (Back et al., 2016). Belief on the other
Hand mostly prefers that one individual has the ability of continuing their work even under
subsequent pressure. Lastly, consequence generally referred towards the feelings of an
individual while he/she is thriving in a difficult situation.

I do not have adequate resilience skill since I tremble in difficult situation. I had observed
that adequately in my group working season when we faced some problem regarding
response collection. My peers as well as other teachers have also observed that and state that

No, I did not find contradiction while analysing the previous section as me as well as my
teachers and peers think of the same as of my competency at resilience skill.

It is quite inevitable that in my future career perspective I will face a bunch of different
problems. Not solving these problems might hurt my professional career at certain extension
(Vo et al., 2015). Moreover, since I have the career goal of being at a managerial position, I
need to have adequate resilience skill at further extension.

What is the core skill to develop?
Third core skill, which I am wishing to develop can be illustrate as public speaking related
skill. It can be demonstrated as such a process regarding communication that will me as an
individual to provide relevant information towards a group of audiences. As of public
speaking, I think it assist extensively towards making effective communication as well as
solving different forms of problems.
Why is this core skill important? Why did I select this skill to reflect on? (use relevant
theories and concepts to support your answer)
Public speaking skill can illustrate as quite significant since it assists towards making
communication with a larger audience base and it also assist at solving certain problems in a
due deadline. In addition to that, I am also willing towards getting job in managerial position,
therefore I need to sharpen my public speaking skill so that I can make greater emphasize
towards leadership attributes (Nasiri and Gilakjani, 2016). These are the key reason why I
choose to reflect on the skill.
As per Lasswell’s communication model which was originally developed by Harold
Lasswell, state that there is five basic element of public speaking. It includes message,
communicator, audience, medium and effect (Chollet et al., 2015). To be precise, every
speaker needs to answer every question that has been derived by their audience in order to be
effective at making communication.

As per personal consideration, I think I have do not have perfect competency in public
speaking skill since I felt quite nervous while giving the power point presentation. I got
mumbled while answering some of the questions that have been asked by other team
members in addition to my teachers. My tutors in addition with my peers also noticed that
and suggested to work at the skill.

Public speaking skill will inevitably allow me for improving my overall knowledge by
making more communication with others. Moreover, it is also quite important at influencing
a large number of employees as well (Wolfe et al., 2019). Moreover, adequate public
speaking power will also provide me the opportunity of getting comfortable with unknown
people.

What is the core skill to develop?
As of the fourth and last skill, I am willing for developing team-working skill. Team work
mainly produces whenever individual workers combine their entire individual skills at their
workplace for achieving a perfect goal.
Why is this core skill important? Why did I select this skill to reflect on? (use relevant
theories and concepts to support your answer)
Effective teamwork can be illustrated as exclusively helpful towards enhancing the skill level
of new employees of a workplace and it is also significantly helpful towards completing
complex as well as time consuming projects within due deadline. As per my consideration,
this is the basic importance of team work skill (Holland, 2019). Moreover, I am willing to
reflect on the skill level since I think that adequate team working skill is majorly important
for improving working flexibility while following commitments.
Belbin’s nine team role is a useful concept that introduces nine different roles in a group for
enhancing the performance capability of the group. It involves teamworker, resource
investigator, specialist, plant, complete finisher, implementer, monitor evaluator, shaper
and co-ordinator. All of these team roles have some strengths and weaknesses, although
while working together they can mitigate their weakness and make the group productive.

I think I do not inherit adequate competency at team working skill since at the group project a
small level of confliction has been raised due to me. I was not able to get incorporated with
some ideas that have been introduced by the group and due to lack of public speaking skill I
was also not capable of expressing it. My teachers and peers also observed that and advised
me to improve my team working skill.

Skill associated with team working will help me towards becoming a part regarding any
major project at my later career. In addition to that, it will also assist me towards getting
knowledge from other team members, which will further strengthen my knowledge (Keville
et al., 2017). Moreover, it will also assist me towards become productive.
