This reflective journal documents a student's learning journey through a module focused on communication styles and study skills within a business context. Introduction:
This template should be used to record your reflections on the weekly sessions.
Please use the spaces provided to reflect on what was discussed in class, what you
gained from the session; did you find the content useful; how can you relate it to your
studies at university as a business student. You will also need to discuss how you
intend to further develop the skills discussed in class. This is a continuous process
and should be completed during the module and not at the end.
In week 8 you will be expected to submit what you have completed so far, via
ULearn, to receive feedback. You will then complete weeks 9 to 10.
The Weekly Reflective Journal will be used in conjunction with your Personal
Learning and Development Plan and Interview to work out the final grade for this
module. The Reflective Journal and PDP will be summatively submitted in week 14
on Blackboard. Submission of all parts of the assessment are required in order to
receive a grade.

develop these skills.
During 1 session, I learned about the different types of business. This session has made me
enable in knowing the different types of business organizations. There are various kind of
business organizations and all of them have the different ways of performing their operations
(de Araujo and et.al., 2021). During this week, I also learned that all the business has
adopted the organizational culture. And this organizational culture plays the important role in
maintaining the effective environment in the company. This learning from the portfolio has
enabled me in knowing that it is important to understand the different aspects of the task in
order to establish the effective strategy for completing the goal. I made a plan in order to
develop the skill of understanding the different aspect of all the task that is going to perform by
me in upcoming future. As better understanding of the aspects leads to the effective
implementation of the goal.

In this week, I learned the importance of the planning and strategies in the business. The
effective planning in relation of the business objective ensures the growth of the business and
the effective strategies adds glory in completing the goals of the business (Oduwusi, 2018).
This session has cleared my vision in relation of the planning and strategies. It has been found
from various studies that, the effective planning and strategies results in touching the higher
rate of the growth. This session has developed a skill in me and that is related to making an
effective planning and strategies in relation of my future goal. So, this will help me to achieve
my goal in effective manner.
Week 3

develop these skills.
In this session, I learned the concept of the business environment. The business environment
plays the important role in the growth and success of the business. In this week, I learned that
the business environment is consists of the micro, macro, internal and external environment.
And the effective understanding of all these environment results in adding more glory in the
success of the business (Cherunilam, 2021). I found out that, consistent observation over the
internal and external aspects of me in knowing the hurdles that are coming in the performing
my goals. I made a plan in order to develop the skills related to critically analysing the different
factors that affects my goals and objectives. As the critical analysation of the business
environment results in knowing and solving the barriers of the business. In same manner, this
skill will help me to solve the barrier related to my goals.
Week 4

develop these skills.
In this week, I learned about the marketing strategy of the business. The effective marketing
strategy ensures the large number of market share in the favour of the business organizations
(Mothersbaugh and et.al., 2020.) Earlier, I used to think that marketing does not play the
important role in the business. But, after this week, I had a clear vision that marketing is the
important part of the business. During this week, I have developed a skill and that is related to
having the effective interaction with the members of my team. This created the positive attitude
in me as the effective team interaction leads to learn new skills.

develop these skills.
During the session, I have learned about global business environment and trading blocks.
Along with this also learnt about the culture difference/ hofstede culture dimensions. While I
have also analysed the different culture system in business and make sure for having the
effective uses. Previously, I was thinking about that business have one type of culture

business, but later on, I have analysed about various business culture through which this will
help me for developing about various things. I have also developed various skills and
knowledge about the business through which that could help me for having the better future
option. I have analysed the successful integration demands such as SWOT, PESTEL and so
on. I have also come to know about how the government resist integration and set-up more
barriers for the business. This activity helps me for knowing about various effective barriers and
how usually this could help me for working with having some better outcomes. I have also
developed many more skills which can help me for developing about the business skills and
culture knowledge for personal development.

During the session I have learnt about the formative assessment in which I have learned about
the business type, organization structure, main functional area and business, roles and
activities within business. While I have also analysed about that how the business type help me
for knowing about those effective theme which might be important for me. I was also thinking
about that how business development and various types make more granted for knowledge.
While having such things I have also analysed about those effective things which might be
important and make more implication for working with some measure future options. During,
this week I have learnt about how the business skills and knowledge are being so important
and basically, how they play the important role for having some better outcomes. While before
attending such seminar, I was thinking that not more than one function of business is essential.
I got the confidence in me ion relation of increasing my interaction with my tram mates as I got
the better understanding of the topic. It increases my learning power.

During, this week I have learnt about the business plan. While I also analysed about that
how the business plan that help me for knowing about various business activities and also
make sure for having some better concepts. Before, I was thinking about that no business
plan must be required for the developing business or taking market position (Souto and
Rodríguez-López, 2021). But later on. I have analysed that business plan must be
important through which, businessman can easily come to know about their working
environment.

This journal should be formatively submitted for feedback, via ULearn, at the end of this week.
I have learnt about the external environment of task managing in organization. How
basically, this could help them for knowing about what type o environment does the
organization seems to be work and how this can make the effective goals and objective. I
have also come to know about how those effective things might be more helpful and keep
their working process for being taking some of the measure steps. I have also developed

many skills and knowledge about how the tasks that can be managed and how this can be
work for having some more complicated tasks. As how the organization manage their
financially concepts and take more important decision about their working position (Urinov,
2020). I have also learnt about the business plan and financially system in organization
and also come to know about how this can work and keep the business process for
working with some strategies.

While from this seminar, I have learnt about the organization culture. In which I have come
to know about how usually this could help me for taking some of the measure steps and
also come to know about how this organizational culture is being important for the
business. While having such things I have also developed many skills and knowledge
such as team working, communication, time management and so on. While through
developing about those skills which might be essential for taking some of the measure
action and come to know about how the organization culture is being important (Balaji and
et.al., 2020). While I was also thinking about that no organization culture is being so
important for the organization, but attending this seminar, I have analysed that in business
how the organization culture theories and model or framework that could play the role and
eventually this will help me for developing more about those various business activities. I
have also come to know about how people working together and develop more about their
beliefs what work and how transmitted for working within some actions measure. I have
also come to know that culture web analysis that might be important for developing the
proper business activity and this could be have the positive impacts about working
condition.

While I have learnt about the entrepreneurship, that about how the innovative ideas and
thoughts must be important for developing the business and how usually this will help me
for knowing about various business ideas and thoughts. Basically, I have also analysed
about that how entrepreneurship is being important and what roles and responsibilities
seems to be important for them and how they are working for achieving the goals and
segments. Earlier, I was thinking about that directly business that can be set up with
having no roles and responsibilities and functional area (Audretsch and Moog, 2020). But,
later on, I have analysed that entrepreneurship that is based on presentation of business
proposal which come up with the better innovative use of some better social media to
promote and establish the business.

Basically, about the business and marketing, usually how this can help for taking towards the
better future estimated, along with this personal development plan, which help for knowing
about what skills and knowledge are being lacking behinds and how usually they can
developed while by taking some of the measure actions.
