1REFLECTIVE ESSAY
I believe that first and foremost I am a successful American business man who is self-
made. As I am the largest shareholder of Berkshire Hathaway since the year of 1970 and
positioned as a chairman, it is evident how successful leader I am. From childhood I have
developed a passion for venturing in new businesses as I was inspired by a book named One
thousand Ways to mak $1000; and to satisfy my passion I did small businesses like selling cold
beverages, chewing gums and what not, an slowly I climbed up the ladder of success. I believe
that I can be one of the suitable candidates for the role of the president of United States as I
believe that I became successful from having nothing almost and for 45 years I have been
running a big corporate house successfully. Not only that; as a leader I intend to satisfy my
employees’ needs and requirements, in order to keep them motivated and loyal towards the
organization. Thus, I believe that choosing me for a role of the president of the nation would not
be a bad choice.
My leadership style focuses on maintaining the satisfaction level of the employees as I
know that they are the nucleus of my company and if they are not satisfied, that would definitely
affect the overall productivity of the organization. It can be said that my style of leadership is
Laissez-faire leadership, and I give importance and value to the unique concepts and ideas of the
employees and provide them freedom to take necessary decisions when in need. In relation to
Situational theory of leadership, I would say that I am that type of a leader who allocates task to
the followers who are highly skilled and efficient in order to achieve the targets set by me.
Regarding the recent controversy related to the gun control, I would rather say that it is a
matter of different perspectives. I could rather suggest that the government can make some
policies that would ensure that the gun sellers or the government will do a background check o

the individuals who will be buying guns. In this way people’s access on guns will remain and at
the same time undesired situations can be lowered effectively.
I believe that these points of views of mine will actually help me if I get elected as the
president of United States and I am confident that I will be able to take out the job quite
successfully with the help of my loyal and efficient followers. As I believe in Laissez-faire
leadership, it would help me to get valuable inputs from my followers and it can effectively
improve the performance of the government.
