INTRODUCTION
Reflective learning is basically the active learning which not only assist in managing the
work but also assist in managing the assignment of the students. With the help of this a student
can evaluate their personal learning behaviour and identifies their strength and weakness. This is
being considered as that method which helps in managing all the unconscious events and offers
knowledge to effectively deal with the actions (Bean and et. al., 2018). Reflective learning assists
the students in academic studies. This not only provide different types of working pattern to the
students but also gives them feedback in relation to all the issues which can be face by them in
future assignment. The following essay is going to cover the Gibbs reflection life cycle and
description of the reflective approach to the feedback and feed-forward. This essay also going to
focus on the different methods in order to improve the formative and summative assessment.
TASK
Reflection may be defined as an analysation of an individual own skills and experience
which not only assist in managing but also assist in learning. This is being considered as the most
important method which assist all the learner in managing their professional gain self-confidence
and self-awareness. In 1998, GIBBS Reflective cycle is announced by Graham Gibbs. An
effective structure has provided by them through which an individual can easily manage their
learning experience. Different types of methods as well as ways has been evaluated by this
reflective cycle by which an individual can easily analyse that whether this assist in proper
management and working or not. This reflective cycle comprises of six stages. Description is
being considered as the first stage in which an individual describes all the situations
(Changwong, Sukkamart and Sisan, 2018). The situation has been described with proper details
such as which situation happened and the outcome by that situation. This applies all the
information of the situations which are going to be taken place. The second stage of this cycle is
Feelings. In this, an individual can effectively evaluate and explore all their feelings which are
made by them during their experience. All the inner instincts as well as thoughts has been
provided by this which are running in the minds of an individual while performing any task or
going through any or same situation. Evaluation is being considered as the third stage of this
model in which all the positive as well as negative aspects of the situation has been determined
and analysed. In this stage, evaluation of work is done by the individual which is being done by

them. This helps an individual in managing and maintaining their focus on the areas in which
they lacking and facing the major challenges. Next stage of this model is analysis. In this stage
an individual not only get the chance to regain but get the opportunity to sense all the events.
With the help of this an individual can easily reframe and determined all the situations in relation
to the loopholes due to which the events don not organised well (Martin and Bolliger, 2018). The
next phase of this model is Conclusion, in which all the actions, results and knowledge are
summarise which are adopts by the individual with the help of event. The last and the final step
of this reflective cycle is Action plan, which is being considered as the most important phase.
This stage prepares an individual to perform all the future task and assignments and assist them
that what things which have to keep in mind and what things which need to be removed in all the
situations. In this, the realisation of work is done and skills has been developed (Neck and
Corbett, 2018).
The feedbacks may be defined as those reviews which beings given by the individual on
the situation or on the work which are performed by the students. Mostly, feedbacks have taken
by those individuals who are expertise in their fields or have a particular skill in relation to the
work. The feedbacks which are collected from the experts may be negative or positive and with
the help of these, I get the information about my performance. On the other hand, the process of
feed-forward is totally different form the process of feedbacks. With the help of this process, I
can replace my work which is done by me in order to manage the work and attain the proper
management to achieve the future objectives. This is basically the idea or the plan which are
given by my superior to me in order to manage the all the situation and overcome form all the
hurdles which are faced by me (Pedro, Barbosa and Santos 2018). The process of feedbacks and
feed-forward is effectively analyse by the me and with the help of GIBBS reflective cycle that is
why this is being considered as an important technique. It has been seen that all the stage of the
Gibbs cycle are being considered as a part of feedbacks and I can try to analyse the situation or
work form both positive and negative aspects. The feedback is also being considered as the most
important part of the GIBBS cycle as this is used in the last stage. With the help of action plan
stage, I can easily analyse and make the goals and programme in order to manage the work in a
very proper and valid manner (Steen-Utheim and Foldnes, 2018). It has been seen that, the use of
feed-forward in the last stage help me in reflecting and preparing for the upcoming events. So,
the management of the work done in effective manner and apply all the approaches in systematic

manner. Along with this, I can also apply the reflective cycle in the general working areas so that
various feedbacks can be taken by me in order to know the work and methods. The feed-forward
also assist in managing the future events that is why this is being considered as an important part.
Feedbacks and Feed-forward, are being considered as most vital methods which not only
help me in managing the issues but also help me in facing issues in effective manner. I can easily
focus on the issues by calculating and analyse all the pros and cons which are present in front of
me in my working. In academics, create and manage is being considered as the most important
part because it helps me in becoming more focused and attentive in those areas in which I am
lacking off. In addition to this, this also help me in evaluating the all the events and work in
effectual manner so that the I can effectively maintain and complete my summative as well as
formative assessment in systemic manner (Tharayil and et. al., 2018). It has been seen that
feedbacks plays a very important role in motivating me. If teachers praised me for my good
performance, then I can work with more productivity. On the other hand, feedbacks assist me in
generating the new ideas and measures so that all issues can be resolved by me. It is very
important for the senior that they have to continuously focus on my working and effectiveness,
this assists me in enhancing my skills. On the other hand, feed-forward are implemented in order
to provide the different measures by which I can easily face and overcome form the challenges
which are faced by me during the assessment. Along with this, these tactics can be developed
through which I can make my career or future better. The ideas and hard work which is done by
me reflected on my formative as well as summative assessment (Thompson and Thompsonm,
2018). The feedbacks which are being collected, assist me in gaining the self-awareness and
increase the confidence to do the work in accurate manner. Along with this these feedbacks
promotes the effectiveness within me by which I can push my limits in working. Feed-forward is
being considered as the most important elements which assist me in making a bin for the future
growth and also assist me in doing the formative and summative assessment properly. So, it is
very important for the seniors to provide feedbacks and feed-forward to me in regular manner so
that I can enhance my performance. This result in motivating me in continuous manner.
