MAIN BODY
Analysing the impact of COVID-19 over the hospitality travel and leisure
Pandemic has impacted the entire world and especially all the business. Hospitality,
tourism and leisure faced the heavy losses due to the pandemic. At the time of pandemic, the
lock-down has been introduced by the government as the safety of the people was the first
priority of the government (Lee and Chen, 2020) The movement of the people among different
economy gets the pause. Earlier, the people used to visit the places and the high benefits has
been experienced by the hospitality and tourism sector (Baum and Hai, 2020). At the time of
COVID, the government puts the banned over this industry in order to maintain the social
distancing. It has been found from various studies that, the revenue of the hospitality and tourism
industry has been reduced up-to the 55%. Also, many hotels and travel agency gets shut down as
they do not have the source of investment or profit to run the business.
Leisure industry is concerned with the entertainment purpose of the people. Due to lock-
down and prioritizing safety, the spending by the people in this industry has also been reduced.

This industry is linked with the tourism industry. Thus, this industry has also got impacted due to
lock-down. The COVID leads to make the bookings of the people for the entertainment purpose
more down. Hospitality, tourism and leisure industry ensures the entertainment to the people
within ensuring the effective services (Huang and et.al., 2020). However, the spending over
experiencing the entertainment has been completely reduced by the people. Also, there was strict
restriction by the government in order to stop the travelling of the people. So, the risk of
pandemic cannot be increased (Baum and et.al., 2020). Thus, COVID has made the drastic effect
over the hospitality, tourism and leisure. Moreover, the businesses has faced the huge loss.
Role of formative feedback
Formative feedback is usually provided during assessment course while summative
feedback is given only after the completion of assessment and is usually given in terms of marks
or grades. In order to improve the summative performance, it is important to receive and act
sincerely on formative feedback (Ogange and et.al., 2018). Formative feedbacks are vital for
encouraging improvements in the assessed work. With formative feedback learners are able to
highlight the areas which needs improvement and more efforts. Thus it plays great role in
enhancing the grades of summative feedback. Many students lack confidence and it influences
their performance throughout the program (Huisman and et.al., 2018). For such learner’s
formative feedback act as way to gain confidence and to improve performance through greater
concentration at work. At university or school education formative feedback is also important to
make student self-regulated and disciplined.
Due to several barriers students may not be working or leading correct path for academic
or professional growth. Thus in such circumstances feedback act as guiding light for the learners
which can assist students in assessing or evaluating their strengths, weakness or capabilities as
well as to take correct decisions related to professional decisions (Adkins, 2018). It is one of the
common issues among learners that they are not aware about the accurate decisions which they
have to take because of lack of guidance or support. Formative feedback used to provide that
help and knowledge to students so that they can themselves assess their capabilities and
effectiveness of their decisions. The changes or improvements observed in summative
performance due to formative feedback builds greater clarity and confidence among learner so
that their professional goals can be changed or improved accordingly.

Behaviour and cultural expectations
While studying business or management degree one not only have theoretical or academic
expectations but also builds expectations related to behavioural changes as well as culture.
Business is not only restricted to one single type of market, person or culture (Vila Samper,
2020). Rather it is global subject which affect every individual in form of customer or business
professional. Thus, with study the most common expectation among learners is that they can gain
understanding of different types of cultures and people. Management aspect give insight to
learners that after completing the course they will be effectively able to manage teams or
individuals. Though the individuals may be from diverse background or culture but individuals
have expectation that if dealing with market and business it is obvious that there will be people
with different ideology, choices and preferences.
With understanding students also expect that business degree also makes them highly
professional in terms of dynamic nature of business environment which changes rapidly
depending upon several internal and external factors. Learners expect that their cultural
knowledge and understanding is also reflected in their personal behaviour (Kumar, 2019). Like
the acceptance of diversity is one of the most important aspect of successful personal and
professional growth. With knowledge of business degree one gains learning about acceptance of
diversity and its importance in achieving professional targets (Garmendia, Irigoyen and Merlo,
2021). However, this is not only limited to professional expertise but individuals also expect that
even in personal life or in interaction with colleagues or teams they are well aware with the
diversity element. Another important achievement is that these courses make students capable of
gaining deeper knowledge and insight about the business theories and models and how they are
different in realistic markets as compare to concepts provided in theory (Wu and Schunn, 2020).
The behaviour of learners is assumed to be more innovative and flexibility which adjust as per
the changing scenarios and situational needs.
Analysing the importance of peer-to-peer support and team working in order to enhance the
learning experience
Peer-to-peer support refers to the scenario in which teachers in the organization supports
each other and implement effective team collaboration in term of creating the effective learning
environment in the classroom. Effective teaching technique leads to provide the impact over the
learning techniques of the students. I have experienced the effective learning due to the effective

support among the tutors in the college. Collaboration among the tutor leads to sharing of the
knowledge among them and increases their knowledge. As a result, the teacher use this
knowledge and techniques for implementing the effective learning environment (Martin and
Bolliger, 2018). The peer-to-peer support leads to implementation of effective learning strategies
in my classroom. As a result, this enabled me to develop effective schedule in relation of making
my learning more efficient. The professionals provide the guidance to the teachers and then, the
teachers use this guidance while implementation of the effective teaching techniques in the
classroom. This results in enhancing my learning ability (Al-Samarraie and Saeed, 2018). Thus,
peer-to-peer support and effective team collaboration enable teachers to exchange the knowledge
and this leads to generate the effective learning environment.
