Reflective learning refers as strategic approach that utilized actively and effectively for
purpose of monitoring as well as assessing understanding, competencies and performance during
knowledge gaining procedure (Colomer and et.al., 2020). It is quite beneficial for a student or
other person in varied terms and in several contexts. It helps individuals to assess their exact
situation, and figure out how to improve their learning procedure appropriately. Along with
above advantages, reflective learning enable a person to take pleasure of other benefits as well in
bulk, which help in their career growth. The current assignment will explain the significance of
reflective learning. The aim of this study is to define how a reflective technique to feedback &
feed-forward can improve & inform further summative and formative assessed work.
Furthermore, the report will cover information about Gibbs reflective cycle that utilized by a
reflector to make a reflective statement based on personal experience or learning.
In the world, there are different types of approaches and techniques accessible and used
by the individual person according to their presences, for purpose of making a proper reflection.
It is a kind of initiative that they take to highlight the strengths that they may have and
weaknesses, which they may tend to overcome by applying effective methods (Reflective

that aid to gain in depth information into own professional practice in term of thinking
analytically about any component of it. The insight develop and deep information that they may
collect might be enabled person to maintain good and ethical practice. It also helps lead to
improve and develop professional as well as personal careers. It can be said that while reflection
take several forms, it is quite essential to comprehend that each activity closely that is connected
to reflection (What is reflection, 2022). It is fact that reflection permit a person to determine and
effectively appreciate positive experiences and greatly examine ways that they may use to
improve practice in effective and useful manner that is essential for them to do so.
Learning is process of developing knowledge about varied concepts that further
individual apply in appropriate manner (Santyasa, Rapi and Sara, 2020). Gibbs is the best model
utilize to make a reflection and take the similar approach into consideration, which enables to
specify what things a person may learned and what they want to learn in the future, in order to
grow and succeed. The usage of this model allow person to consider reflection approach and then
make appropriate reflection about learning, in regard to different concepts and topics that they

may seek to apply further (Adeani, Febriani and Syafryadin, 2020). Gibbs' reflection framework,
includes six stages that drive the attention of user toward making themselves able to express or
share their experience in comprehensive manner, which is simple in term and useful to
implement regarding specific situation or task. Each stage of chosen model move user ahead to
reflect themselves in form of feeling, description about learning and analysis in the context of
same. It allows reflector to look back at something good like past-experience, when they learned
new things and gather information about varied terms. It defines the further areas of
improvement along with existing level of knowledge.
For purpose of improving individuals performance and driving their attention toward
skills, knowledge and other term development, feedback procedure is utilized (Wisniewski,
Zierer and Hattie, 2020). It defined as transmission of correction key information about an event,
procedure and action to common source. The nature of feedback is to gain, and provide insights
about a work of other person, which they may improve or redone again, because of some errors.
It is a kind of message that tutors may provide to students regarding their work, which enable
them to more focus on development and improvement areas, along with things that done well
(Hall and Pyper, 2021). Feedbacks in professional and academic field are utilized to define
helpful data and criticism about prior behaviour and action from an individual, that
communicated and interacted to another group of members, who may use that important
information to adjust and improve further decisions as well as behaviours. It is fact that by
providing and obtaining feedbacks, individual may take experience of greater performance that
they may perform to reach desire outcome, in appropriate manner, that is quite essential for them
to do that. It may provide chance to conduct continuous learning approach or initiative
appropriately and successfully.
Feed-forward refer to reverse practice of above term and that is feedback that has been
provided by expert or experience holder and obtain by the performer, who may accountable to
perform multiple task, according to their interest (Xu and et.al., 2020). The nature of this concept
is defined as a component that pass a controlling feature from different sources in their external
environment that aid to lad else where in internal environment. Feed-forward is also considered
as simple procedure that enable a person to replace negative or positive comments with further
solutions (Yang, 2019). Gibbs's reflection model is used here in the context of making reflective
statement on feedback and feed-forward. It is one of those concepts that used in the world of

academic and professional. It is important for feedback provide such as tutors or leader to take
this concept into their consideration as it enable them to define and determine individual
performance and also make plan to provide feedback. It specifies the current situation and efforts
to individuals and also enable them to receive comment regarding their work, in term of negative
or positive comments that they consider, to motivate themselves as well as to others.
There are several methods, techniques and ways accessible that used to improve each
type of assessment, either formative or summative in appropriate manner, in order to achieve key
objectives (Rodríguez and et.al., 2022). Reflective approach is one of those approaches or ways
that teachers and other expert utilized to improve the students' performance in form of making
assessments better than before. According to this term, they may conduct varied practices such as
understanding work and then providing feedback that help to improve further formative and
summative assessments appropriately because of varied reasons. The main reason behind this
type of improvement is to achieve high scores in academic years, to make themselves able to
perform specific role in the professional career as well, without making any mistake or creating
issues that put adverse impact on individuals' performance. The similar approach along with
improvement also enable person to inform other about what areas they want to make even better
than last few years or months which is important for their continuous career success and
progress.
Reflection approach is a kind of strategic direction technique that adopt by many people
to inform students and learners about improving different things related to their summative &
formative assessments that is essential for them to do that systematically and appropriately
(McCallum and Milner, 2021). Reflection is a part of career success and growth as it may
highlight key strengths and positive aspects of a work, along with highlighting negative aspect
that is important for them to overcome. In today's era, it is necessary of individuals to make
improvement in their work, because it may contribute to reach desire outcomes and enable
person to set new aims that they will also achieve further. Feedback and feed-forward are the two
most effective approaches that use in the context of improvement of each assessment. It refers to
capability to make someone able to become a key in on source of success in their life. These two
methods play vital role in regard to career success as each method may drive the attention and
concentration of individuals toward developing those terms and understanding about concepts
that they apply to make formative and summative assessment better than other students who are

also efforts to do the same thing appropriately. It allows them to grow and help others to progress
effectively and appropriately.
On the basis of above discussion, it has been identified that reflective approach and
learning had provided several benefits to a learner and reflector. They had achieved their
strategic aims and objectives, in effective manner by applying different techniques and
approaches, which is important for them to do that. By using Gibbs reflective cycle, individuals
had reflected the experience that they have feel while taking initiative to specific activity or
project. Furthermore, from above analysis, it has been determined that feedback and feed-
forward approaches contributed to improve formative assessment work along with summative,
that aid to reach desire outcomes. The opinions and suggestions obtained by tutor enabled
students to improve areas where they feel weaker and also provide chance to collect information
about useful things that they consider strategically and effectively. Learners had improved their
performance by taking feedback from experience holders, who are able to teach new lessons to
them.
