Executive Summary
In the present report an analysis of the skills has been done with the help of a reflective
report. This report assesses and analyses various personal skills which is needed in order to
become a successful person or a succesful manger in the future. In the underlying report I
outlined four different types of skills which according to it needs to be developed and needs to be
worked up on. First, it identified and analysed the need of developing the skill. It further
discusses the importance of improving those skills which have been identified and selected for
improvement. Next, it outlined the current competencies possessed by me and highlighted the
other competencies which I need to develop for better working and performance. Further it
applies toolkit examined with peers and feedback from the tutors’ to evaluate these
competencies. After analysing these skills, an outlined of its strengths and weaknesses will be
presented. Finally, a personality development plan will be prepared to develop the weaknesses
and convert these weaknesses into strengths.

The major skill which I need to develop is teamwork where I need to focus on working
in team and communicating with others. According to Ellis and Sevdalis (2019), teamwork can
be defined as working in a group for accomplishing a single task or objective which needs to
attain. The major benefit of improving this skill is that with teamwork the efforts of a single
person minimizes as the whole work is divided among different group members.

Improving the skill of team working is very necessary because every organisation
requires a team to achieve its goals and as an individual, I have to work in a team. So, if I will
have team working skills then it will be able to build trust of employees and have respect for
me within them. Also, working in a team will help me to improve my communication and
decision-making skills. Tuckman team development theory (Natvig and Stark, 2016) propose
that all the stages of team building can be achieved by being much efficiently and this is the
reason why I chose team working skill for developing.

There are many competencies required to improve my team working skills. According
to Belbin team role test carried out in class (see appendix B), the result showed that I can
perform the role of executive more better as compared to other eight roles as specified in

will have a competitive advantage over other persons at its workplace. I chose time
management to reflect because it is very essential skill which needs to be possessed by me.

On the other hand, my supervisor think that I am bad at prioritizing the work. They

long distance communication as in oral communication it is not possible that all the

The last skill which I need to develop is researching and finding information within the
business environment (Sekaran and Bougie, 2016). This is the most essential skill which is to
be developed because the working culture and requirement of working keeps on changing
continuously. So, I need to keep a track of these changes and accordingly research relating to
the changes taking place within the environment and implement those changes within the
business. It is necessary to be developed because if research will be good then I will be able to
find and collect information and will be able to assess that which information is necessary for
me and which is not.

This skill is necessary because of the reason that the business exist in dynamic and
ever- changing environment where in every second there are changes. So, to use these changes

also necessary for me to enhance my researching skills because with help of research I will
come to know many other facts and figures relating to a particular topic which earlier I didn't
know including the viewpoints of other experts on that topic. With the help of constructive
theory, I came to know that enhancing researching skills are very necessary.

and information searching skill is necessary because it enhances the knowledge of the person

changes as it will increase my competitiveness and my position and goodwill in business
world. According to Willison, (2018), another reason for improving research as a skill is that
the person can have better growth opportunities for my personal growth and development of

my knowledge.
Summary and Action Plan:
The strengths and weaknesses of a person are the positive and negative things which
either helps the person in its growth or hampers the process of growth. It is very necessary for a
person to analyse its strengths and weakness because it will help it in knowing its capabilities
and areas where it is not good. Therefore, it is important in analysing strengths and weakness and
will help person in maintaining its strengths and converting its weakness into strengths
(Vondracek, Lerner and Schulenberg, 2019).
Strengths
The major strengths of me are as follows-
I am very good at analytical and logical reasoning and thinking.
I am also good at decision- making.
Another strength of me is that I can easily communicate with others in a clear and
understandable manner.
Another major strength is that as I am good at communicating with others within the
business. Therefore, I am very good at working in team and managing the work of team
members.
Weaknesses:
The major weakness which I identified through analysing my personality are as follows-
I am not very good in time management and mainly in prioritizing the work.
Another weakness is that I cannot communicate properly outside the organization with
external parties.
I lack having good writing skills and have language problem while drafting messages for
communication.
Another weakness is that I have low influencing and persuasion skills while I work in a
team.
