INTRODUCTION
There are various skills that is required in student in his or her career development. these
skills enable in their personal and professional growth and development as well. however, there
are various types of skills required that is communication, management, inter personal, etc. in
this report it will be described about portfolio of reflection.
REFLECTION
Communication skill
It is known as the mutual interaction between two or more than two people. Strong
communication skills helps all aspects of life such as from personal to professional life. Students
require deeper and practical knowledge regarding communication skills. With the help of
communication skills students listen, understand the point of view of teachers during the
lectures as most of the students are unable to ask questions due to lack of confidence, fear,
hesitation (Jyoti. and Dev, 2015). Due to good communication students also build strong
friendship. Clear communication regarding skills, knowledge within words, also confidently
communicate in interview aids students to get good job after the completion of degree. With the
effective communication students also perform well within the team as they shows positive
behaviour, collaborative efforts and gratitude of others.
Problem solving skill
It aids to regulate origin of a problem and willing to find a fruitful solution. In other
words it is all about solving issues logically and with imagination in order to make sense
regarding a situation and at the same time come with intelligent and creative solution. In
student's life problem solving skills is vital for their student life as well as professional life. It
require active listening, data analysis, data gathering, fact finding ,process analysis and many
more. Students also takes help from the tools such as brainstorming possible solutions as it
includes two or more than two minds that are better than one, it is a single strategy that can
solves a complex problem (Eldor. and Harpaz, 2016). It is vital because it provides mechanism
for recognizing things as well as determining why they are broken as well as determining an
action to fix them.
Time management
It is a procedure of planning as well as controlling regarding how much time to spend on
particular activities. Time management aids a person it complete their within shorter period. It is

considered as an ability to mange more effectively as it leads to brings the efficiency as well as
productivity (Karakaya,. and Demirkan, 2015). Students needs to manage their work timely that
assigned to them from their lectures. As it decreases anxiety as well as leads to avoid the feeling
of stressed. If students manage their time well then it creates more number of opportunities for
them as they can spend their time with other fruitful activities that leads to growth in their future.
For students needs to set their goals correctly, prioritize their work wisely, needs to set a limited
time for particular task and many more.
Listening skills
It is the ability to interpret and receive messages within the communication process. Listening is
known as the first key of communication as without the capacity of listening message can be
easily misunderstood and actions can be delayed. In a student's life listening skill is very vital as
if they can not listen properly what lectures teaches them and creates a huge loss in their
education (Karakaya,. and Demirkan, 2015). I realized that I am moderate in listening. I
effectively listen when I am able to concentrate and sometimes, I do not listen in well manner.
thus, I need to ensure that I am able to effectively listen even in when I am lost.
Self management skill
These are the type of abilities that enables people to control their feelings, thoughts as well as
actions. Students who are very good in this skills coming class on time, obeying parents and their
peers. They pay full attention to while attending lectures, and they also self control regarding so
many things as they are aware about what is good for them and what is not. It not only helps
students in college life but provides good results after that also. in this I am able to control
myself to some extent (Park, Lew. and Lee,2018). but when the situation gets worse I am not
able to do it. I lose my control and temper. also, I speak loudly to others. I do not have control
over my feelings and thoughts. so, I realise that I am good at controlling my anger and my self
control skills are moderate. I need to little improvement in it as there it will be useful for me in
managing my emotions in effective way. this will help me in my personal development to a great
extent.
Team work
These are considered as the capabilities and qualities that enable students to work well with other
people who are also the part of that team. During the projects, conversations ,meeting as well as
collaborations (Park, Lew. and Lee,2018). Overall it is a combined team efforts or the various

actions of a group and also completes a common goal. Teamwork environment also promotes an
atmosphere is focuses in loyalty and friendship .It is always good for the students to do group
studies, various group assignments, and several projects together by forming a team. It helps me
as a student very much as it teaches me how to work effectively in other people and also teaches
me loyalty and trust.
Presentation skills
These are the skills that require to deliver effectively as well as engaging presentation to
several peoples. It also covers a several areas such as it provides presentation such as body
language of an individual, tone of the voice and many more. These skills are also vital in
student's life because they aids them to communicate with confidence. Earlier I was also facing
some problems regarding this skill but now I am well confident regarding this field.
Management skill
Under such skills there are certain abilities in order to complete task within a firm. For
example Delegation is considered as one of the key management skill. It is considered as an act
of passing duties that are work related to the other staff members. It includes the process that
allows tasks that are re- allocated to other staff members. It aids to avoid the wastage of time,
assures responsibility, optimize productivity and many more. Another skills of management is
motivation as it brings desired response and behaviour from the staff members. Here in the
students' life motivation plays a vital role (Liu, 2017). Management skills helps students to
manage themselves and also motivates them from their achievements. There is one of vital factor
of management skills is decision-making. This skill is very vital for everybody's life so as in
student's life as well. It aids to use in life decisions of students such as which university opt for
studies, which subject opt and many more.. Earlier I have also not taking decision properly but
later I improved myself and take serious decisions.
Lifelong leaning
It generally focused on personal development as it does not have the proper definition
according to it, knowledge can be gained and learning is inevitable as it happens all the time
(Eldor. and Harpaz, 2016).Thus learning is maintaining and creating a positive attitude to learn
both for professional and personal development. According to this learning it can increase our
ability to understand the world around us as well as gives them better opportunities to improves

the quality of life. Basically there are two reasons for professional and personal development. It
can also increase employment opportunities as well as capable to improves personal growth.
Technological skills
Under such skills knowledge and abilities are required to perform specific tasks
(Szewczyk-Zakrzewska, 2015). Those types of the students who are developing such skills are
move silently ahead of the competition. From machine learning to artificial intelligence and man
more. Learning technologies also breakdown complex issues into more manageable things. It
also leads students to be in high skilled profession. I am very weak in technological skills I need
to improve myself.
Interpersonal skills
These are the tactics and behaviour regarding a person who needs to communicate with
others effectively. Non verbal communication, verbal, listening and written communication.
Some skills such as identification of stress and attitude are vital regarding all forms of
interpersonal communication (Chiang, Hs. and Shih, 2017). It also includes active
listening ,responsibility, leadership, motivation and so on. I am very good in interpersonal skills.
Personal development plan
It is a process of establishing goals and objectives where a person want to achieve where
they want to go, in short or medium long term within their career. It focuses on their recognizes
requirements for skills as well as knowledge. It enabled me to improve my skills and knowledge
through which I was able to achieve my goals. Besides that, I developed both short and long term
goals in it and followed strategies in effective way. This enabled me to enhance my weakness
(An, Song. and Carr, 2016). also, I know about how to make a PDP and what elements are
included in it. besides that, by using PDP I achieved my goals in effective way (Karakaya,. and
Demirkan, 2015).
Portfolio
From the communication skills my mutual interaction increased i.e between two or more

CONCLUSION
It is concluded that From above portfolio there are various skills required in student that are
leadership, interpersonal, team work, presentation etc. the student must possesses these skills to
grow and develop and achieve career goals.
REFLECTION
From the above study it had been concluded that as a student there are various types of
skills which is required in personal and professional development. The skills need to be
developed on basis of career and future goals. The skills are communication, Problem solving
skill, Time management, Listening, Self management skill, Team work Presentation skills,
Management and many more. Moreover, the areas which require improvement are
communication, time management and professional knowledge. This will be done with the help
of PDP. It will help in career growth and development. It is summarized that Strong
communication build strong friendship. Clear communication aids students to get good job and
shows positive behaviour, collaborative efforts and gratitude of others. It also increases
productivity in students life. Problem solving skill is all about solving issues logically and with
imagination in order to make sense regarding a situation it provides mechanism for recognizing
things as well as determining why they are broken as well as determining an action to fix them. It
is also essential day to day life, problem solving is not vital for the life of the students but also
helps in their future career development. It is concluded from the above that Brainstorming is
one of the tool which is applied for Problem solving. Above time management is also considered
as one of vital skills that is vital for students as it is the time which creates a great impact on their
studies, if they timely manage their notes and attended classes than it will be easy for the
students to manage their studies at the exam time. Presentation skills also provides presentation
such as body language of a student , tone of the voice as it one of the crucial one where it
matters a lot as body language of a student matters a lot whether as a student standing posture is
correct or not, whether his or her voice is audible or not and many more. Report also focused on
Lifelong leaning skills that maintains and create a positive attitude to learn both for professional
and personal development. Due to this it also provides various opportunities to improves the
quality of life. Nowadays technological skills are very necessary from the student's life as people
are more active towards technology breakdown complex issues into more manageable things. It
also focused on Interpersonal skill it includes active listening, responsibility, leadership,

motivation and at last Personal development plan that focuses on establishing goals as where
students wants to go in their future time and many more. It is essential as it aids them achieved
their goals effectively. It also increases productivity and gives long term benefits. As a student I
feel that I have lack of communication skill. Although I am good in problem solving but
sometimes it has been very difficult for me to solve problems in critical situation. So I also need
some improvement within this skill. Sometimes decisions making each students at top while if it
