About this project (step-by-step instructions)
In your own time, please complete all of the activities listed below.
In this assessment, you will engage in reflective practice on your performance as an
early childhood educator. You will then use the information you have gained in in your
reflections to create a personal development plan.
To do this, you need to:
1. Engage in two-way feedback about your practice with two (2) of your peers. The two
peers could be a combination of your trainer, a supervisor, another learner or another
educator you have worked with in the space. The feedback should be focused on:
Identifying areas for support
Future areas for development
Areas of interest (e.g. sustainability practices)
Your strengths and areas for improvement.
NOTE: Ensure you document the discussions you have (including names, dates and
times) and the feedback you receive as you will need to submit these as evidence.
2. Capture all of the information/data from the reflective activities outlined above to
write a reflective report of around 500 words. Your report must contain:
a) Summary of feedback: Provide a summary of the feedback received.
b) Strengths and improvement areas: Outline your strengths, and areas in which
you need to improve.
c) Significant achievements: Summarise the highlights and significant
achievements of your work practices over the duration of your study for the
Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care.
d) Legal and ethical requirements: Describe how you will build on your
understanding and compliance with legal and ethical requirements.
e) Personal values, beliefs and behaviour: Identify and evaluate the effect that
your personal values, beliefs and behaviour may have on your professional
practice.

f) Professional development: Provide a description of your professional
development to date, including your involvement in networking groups.
g) Industry developments or practices: Provide a description of one or more
current or emerging industry developments or practices that could be used to
improve your professional practice.

3. Use the information acquired during your reflective practice to create a personal
development plan. You can use the personal development template provided at the end
of this booklet. Or if you already have a development plan in place, you may like to use
that instead.
Your personal development plan must include:
a) At least three (3) SMART goals to address specific areas for improvement
b) Potential internal and/or external support networks that you could use
c) Any specialist advice or further training you need
d) Timeframes to address these improvement areas
e) Legal and ethical considerations
f) Ways to measure progress and effectiveness of your goals
g) Self-care strategies to make sure your mental and physical health is
supported.
TIP: If you’re using an existing professional development plan (instead of the template
provided), please check that it contains all of the information listed above. If there is
anything missing, please attach this as a separate document.

What you’re required to submit
To achieve a satisfactory result for this project, you will need to submit the following
evidence to the standards specified in the instructions:
Documented discussions with your two (2) peers, including feedback you
received
A reflective practice report of around 500 words, comprehensively covering all
criteria (2 a – g)
Your personal development plan, comprehensively covering all criteria (3 a – g).
If your assessor sees that you have not completed all parts of this project satisfactorily,
they will provide you with feedback and you will need to redo those parts of the project.

2: 500 Words
a) Summary of feedback: As per the feedback received by coworkers or another
educator it has been analyzed by me that all of the activities performed by me
were completed in the rightful manner with the provided time frame. From this, it
can be said that all of the activities were executed in appropriate manner. This
feedback has also aware be about my weak areas which can be improved in right
manner.
b) Strengths and improvement areas: The core strength identified with the
section includes accomplishment of all planned practices within the provided
time frame. Improvement of area can be identified from the information

receiving zone as many family members have not supported me in gathering
best possible information.
c) Significant achievements: The main achievement made by me from this
assessment in identification of the weak areas that are interrupting learners. This
also affects their grooming of learners in negative manner. Apart from this I have
also received many suggestions from the parents which can be incorporated by
us in our practices that will also contribute in the improvement of education
stream.
d) Legal and ethical requirements: It is also important for me to comply with all
legal and ethical values at the time of executing assessment related work so that
I can remain free from any kind of legal barrier in the near future.
e) Personal values, beliefs and behavior: While working for the development of
effective assessment I have provided main values to my personal values and
belief which clearly states that I will not include any kind of wrong activity in the
work.
f) Professional development: In terms of professional development, it can be said
that this assessment will contribute in professional development as well because
while working for this I have developed many skills such as analytical skill,
communication, team working and many others.
g) Industry developments or practices: In context of industry and practices, it
can be said that with the help of this assessment I have identified many areas
that are sportive for this industry in its respective growth. This has also allowed
