INTRODUCTION
Reflective practice can be defined as the capability ones actions in order to get engaged
in the process of continuous learning. This is a process in which an individual pays attention
towards the practical values and also on the theories which they apply on the day to day actions.
It is the way by which an individual studies ones own experience in order to improve its ways of
working(Makoni, Byrne and Meyer., 2016). This report discusses about the skills of an
individual using SWOT analysis and also how professional development plan helps in covering
the long term, short term and medium term goals.
TASK 1
1) Skill auditing using SWOT analysis
SWOT analysis helps an individual in identifying the strengths, weakness, opportunities
and threats of a person related to health and social care. SWOT analysis of an individual can be
explained as
Strengths: The strengths for an individual related to the health and social care are
presence of highly skilled clinical staff members, through which an individual can
enhance its performance and the experience from the staff members which is a strength
for an individual.
Strong ethics of the clinics in broad mindedness, commitments from the clinics to
individual is also the strength for an individual
An individuals learning abilities i.e. how much an individual is willing to learn from the
staff and also it depends up on its grasping power, how much it can learn from the
experienced staff members(Knott and Scragg., 2016).
dedication towards its work i.e. how dedicated an individual can be towards the work and
what is the importance this job in its life also proves to be strength for an individual.
Best communication skills is also a strength for an individual, the way an individual is
communicating with patients and able to understand their problems.
Weaknesses: Weaknesses of an individual in health and social care are as follows
Non availability of an individual in reaching the patients, when an individual is not able
to reach the patients i.e. when an individual is facing problems in reaching the patients is
a weakness of an individual(Johns., 2017).

The technologies available to the individual to make best use of it, and this technology
will help in advance(Sharil and Kyriacou., 2015). An individual can make use of the
technologies like mobile phones, new tools and instruments available to enhance its
performance.
People are becoming more health conscious and are spending more on health as
compared to past this will increase the opportunities for an individual in health and care
sector.
The connections set by an individual in the health and social care will provide an
opportunities for an individual, as the individual get more chances to serve the patients
based up its connections, so this is an opportunity for an individual in this sector and
should make use of it.
Threats: Threats to be faced by an individual are as follows
Increase in the number of people who are seeking for the job in the social and health
sector.
Rise of competition in this sector is posing a threat to an individual.
