INTRODUCTION
Health and social care need one to one communication and interaction with the clients and
patients, therefore, the interaction with the clients is the significant matter which
contributes to the success of the health and social care as a whole. As a professional of the
NHS choices, an assignment will be prepared for the development in the personal as well as
in the professional career. This assignment will give the deep insight to encourage the
application of the skills to the NHS choices organisation. A portfolio will be presented that
will reflect the ability of the learner as a reflective learner. There will be the comparison of
the personal value as a healthcare professional and its effect on the principles of NHS
choices. Also, there will be the reflection of the values and beliefs affects the users and staff
in the setting of the hsc workplace.

Personal Values Effect of the values on principles of support in HSC
DIVERSITY I always use to prefer diversity for the workforce because it will aid to
improve the efficiency in work and the health care use to treat the patients
in an effective manner and as soon as possible (Yilmaz, et al. 2017).
Integrity I maintain the integrity in a strict manner in my professional career because
it will help in improving the environment of work and accountability on
patients.
Equal right Offering equal right to each worker will help in building the strong teamwork
for offering the excellent service to the workplace of the health and social
care.
Professionalism The professionalism in the health and social care maintains the strong
discipline in the workplace which will offer the customised care.
Critical thinking Critical thinking is most crucial for the health and social care so that the
professional can take the decision in the best way in an efficient manner.
Pleasure It will help in maintaining the values and morals in the professional life which
will overcome the stress in the routine activities.
Confidentiality There should be full confidence within the team so that there will be the

Any new development and changes have a great impact on the personal values and ethics in
my work. Any values, technological change, policies, legislation etc. may have a great
influence on the working in health and social care organisation.
There are a various number if the legislative regulations and measures which support the
health and social care at work. There are intentional for the protection of the people in the
workplace. For example, health and safety at work act 1974 cover a diverse range of issues
which are related to the workplace safety, health and welfare in the different sectors. It
helps me to get awareness about the rules that are aimed at the health and safety of all
workers. The “Care Act 2014” focuses on the health and social sector activities and
providing benefits to the service users by changes. This was aimed at helping me and service
users for the demanding the benefits and appealing for getting funds. Apart from this, the
code of conducts and other practices in the health and social care industry also have
affected on the personal ethics and values while working with the HSC industry (Yilmaz, et
al. 2016). The recent developments have the impact like I have learnt to work in the
association with the other staffs in the health and social care industry for delivering the best
result by the team member.

The performance of every individual in health and care is important. I have put efforts for
influencing my team in a different manner because I always focus on the teamwork.
Teamwork benefits the organisation which improves the team member’s efficiency. In the
workplace, I use to share my experience and knowledge with my team members and that
help them to track their work.
I also use to maintain the polite behaviour, Language in my workplace with my team and
co-workers so they can communicate with me in an easy manner. I am also efficient in the
basic computer skills which help to handle the data entry, case registering and scheduling
and monitoring the performance of the team. I also encourage my team members for
sharing the ideas in team briefing. I use to maintain the friendly environment and culture in
the workplace and help the team members as well (Yilmaz, 2017).

For minimizing the barriers in an effective teamwork I have taken some actions which are:
To reduce the barrier of lack of effectiveness in the collaborating interactions I have to boost
up my openness behaviour which enhances my communication and interaction which will
increase employee engagement (Dziegielewski, 2013).
I have initiated the different form of powers like instrumental power, personal power,
official power and projected power which have helped me in the collaboration of the
teamwork.
With the help of the effective leadership skill, I have initiated the effective administration of
all the actions which have helped me to remove the barriers.
Another barrier in the team working is the lack of enthusiasm and inspiration that can be
minimized by the implementing the policies and methods in the working environment.
