INTRODUCTION
The reflective practices is consider to be essential to perform by students in order to build
up a path toward success. This is so because the reflective practices help in determining the
things goes well and things goes wrong which in turn make an individual realise the mistake
performed by them and how to recover those for enhancing future performance (Wang and et.
al., 2017). The current report is about reflection over experience of group presentation task of an
individual along with detail about area of improvement and action plan getting those area
developed for better future.
Reflect on performance of group presentation and module
This module brings up great experience and learning for all of us as by becoming a part
of it I become able to go through several things and task which contribute a lot in my personal
development. Among them the group presentation task which was assigned to me brings up a lot
of learning to me. As with the help of this I become able to develop my presentation skills,
researcher skills, writing skills., team working and many more. We are 4-5 members within
group who are assigned with a task to prepare a presentation which we require to deliver in front
of class. Teacher allotted with the team members which I was not much known to me so I was
quite anxious about my presentation that how all this will move but everything runs smoothly at
the end.
When we first started with the project, we interact with each other and try to learn about
one another and decided to delegate the work to individual who is expertise in particular role. I
was assigned with a task to prepare presentation (Koh, Chai and Lim, 2017). At the starting I was
quite nervous about the work but when we had meeting and discussed and planned about whole
task this provide me a confidence that we get completed with project on timely manner. the
schedule for work was running well but one of my team members who assigned with researching
the information has taken more time which was assigned to them as the topic was wrongly
interpreted which make some data out of focus (van Ginkel and et. al., 2017). So, when we
realise it this has taken all the time assigned for researching the information. At that time, I was
very much confused about how to deal with this issue as it is not possible for all of us to again
research about whole information and write it again. So, I suggest that we all should work
together instead of dividing the task as when a single work is performed by all together then it
takes less time. So, we started discussing and marketing the information which is not according

the assignment and adjusted t according to our topic area. This help us in integrating the
knowledge of all for gathering valid information and arrange it correctly.
Then when we work co-ordinately with each task of group presentation then things
started going well and we become able to complete it on timely manner (Balakrishnan and Gan,
2016). From this situation I have learnt that for getting succeed within a particular work the team
work is very much essential. As with the help of my team support is not only become able to
perform work effectively but also learnt so many of things. Like by performing work all together
I become able to develop my understanding regarding eth importance of research skills for
students and additionally I also become able to develop my skills of writing with the help of this
situation. Other than this, while performing my part of work i.e. preparing a presentation I came
to know about many of the tools and trick are their which is used for creating the presentation
more attractive to which I was not aware earlier. My team mate has supported me in learning
these features of presentation. This was very much interesting for me as I found something new
and more helpful in my future projects or other task to prepare presentation better.
Despite of this while working over this project I came to know that I am required to work
over my researcher skills which is very much crucial for a student for performing their task in
effective manner and getting the right set of information by assessing sources for study as well as
assignments. But I found that I am not much aware about how to perform investigation the way
in which it must be analysed and arranged to make it more meaningful. Other than this another
weakness of mine I found through this assignment which I required to improve is my
communication skills. As I found that my communication skills is not much good which make
things more difficult to perform and make other people understand. Being a student, it is very
much essential for me to be outspoken and know how to convey the information to available
audience in right full manner (Yang and Brown, 2016). So, I decided to make improvement at
both of my weakness to enhance my academic performance which also remains helpful to me in
my future career and also in other phase of life. Despite of this, I also decided to further enhance
my knowledge toward creating and using power point presentation, though I am good in creating
presentation but still I found that there are many other things to which I am not aware and can be
used it in right manner to enhance my presentation skills more better.
Despite of all this, the experience was great which help me in learning new things like
that I can use in future to improve my performance. Like, I learnt about the importance of team

dynamics and how to develop a positive relationship with team mates. This knowledge and skills
about team relationship and building I will be using while I started working within corporate.
This is so because at that time work is usually assigned within team so by managing positive
team relations and strengthening the team dynamics, I would be able to ensure that my work get
accomplished more effectively. Other than this, I also learnt some new trick and features to
simplify my work of preparing presentation and at the same time making presentation more
attractive.
Area to be develop further
Throughout performing presentation skills and this module I came to learn about several
skills which I required to improved for my personal as well as professional development. These
are mentioned below:
Researcher skills: - For a student it is very essential to have a good researcher skill as it
allows them to explore more and more information in effective manner which in turn further
support them in enhancing their knowledge (Vo, Zhu and Diep, 2017). At the same time, it also
helps me in performing well within other future project of mine. So, by having better researcher
skills I would be able to determine a difference between good ad bed content and also learnt
about how data must be analysed and presented to satisfy the criteria for a task. This data
analyses will also help me in developing myself professionally where I become able to analyse
data effectively and be able to utilise data in creating strategies for operating business
effectively.
Communication skills: - This is one of the most crucial skill which every individual is
required to have a personal ands professionally capable of delivering their ideas or plan in a
manner that remain understood to other with same perception (Hsia, Huang and Hwang, 2016).
By improving my communication skill, I would be able to speak and present myself in front of
my classmates and teachers mor confidently by making them understand about my perception.
Other than this effective communication skill also supports me in enhancing my interpersonal
skills that not only help me in getting a good job but also allow me to perform well in my work
profile, while guiding team, presenting ideas in meeting and many more.
Presentation skills: - The presentation skills is one which allows an individual to create
and present the information in more effective manner (Hsia, Huang and Hwang, 2016). Being a
students of foundation year the presentation skill is crucial for me as it help in scoring good

grades throughout the year because there are number of assignments and task which I would be
assigned throughout the year and I have to present in front of class. Hence by improving my
presentation skills I would be able to create a more attractive presentation which grab the
attention of audience, other than this I would also be able to understand what things to be
consider while delivering presentation so that attention of audience can be maintained.
Action plan
This is one of the crucial steps that each student must perform as it allows them in
determine the actions to be perform toward overcoming the weaknesses for better personal and
professional development. So for this I also decided to prepare my own personal development
plan which allow me to improve my weak area. The action plan for personal development is

it in a manner so that they can create appropriate strategy to keep them satisfied. Other than this
communication skills support the in maintain a better relationship with customers and at the
same time be able to direct and guide the team members effectively. Other than this it is also
beneficial for academics as theses skills help a student to perform their work task effectively by
presenting them in better manner to get good grades and be able to enhance their interpersonal
skill for better future.
CONCLUSION
From the above mentioned information it can be said that reflection over the task
performed is very much essential for a students as it help them in determining the strength they
have along with area for further improvement. This in tur provide them a medium to have their
regular personal and professional development to prepare themselves for better future. For this
students can also make use of personal development action plan to decided actions to be perform
for getting the weakness area improved.
