INTRODUCTION
The advent of globalization has steadily changed the way people live their lives and
business is conducted across the world as it has turned the world into one interconnected trading
hub (Hardin, Monahan and Ramin, 2018). This report will detail a reflective report which will
detail the teamwork that went into undertaking rigorous learning from academic modules
regarding globalization and its major implications along with important factors such as local and
global cultural difference. There will be key reflective analysis regarding the challenges faced,
aspects of teamwork and collaborations used along with the cultural differences on a local and
global level and the way it impacts group progress.
MAIN BODY
Self awareness
The modules which we were constantly subjected to during this learning period where I
also partook in many teamwork exercises and group projects helped in building a robust
understanding regarding the way work is conducted in teams and the various considerations one
has to keep in mind when behaving in a group. I managed to become proficient at the major
values which are integral for working in any group setting which are tolerant behaviour which
is necessary to not only understand differences but have the broad mindset to inculcate them in
routine group working, self-awareness which is necessary for personal understanding of
strengths and limitations along with trust which must be shared among all members of the team
(Gopinath and Saleem, 2020). However, there were also weaknesses that I could not overcome
despite frequenting the modules and indulging in group projects as I was a slow worker and
barely completed the task delegated to me by other members in projects regarding globalization
which not only put pressure on me when deadline for submission was nearing but also put undue
pressure on my teammates. My overall experience of learning how to function in a group and
maintain high levels of productivity while being part of a team in a professional setting was
positive with a few weaknesses that need extra work to mitigate.

Teamwork
I learned many interesting and fruitful things about not only working with others to the
most efficient degree possible but also learnt from the modules to work in a manner with other
people to achieve the same objective in less time. I managed to identify the fact that
communication skills are needed to maintain team productivity and environment as in the
absence of proper communication, there is chaos and work is seldom completed properly. I tried
to convey my feelings and talk with other people in the most positive and effective way but same
cannot be said for other members. Listening and collaboration were also key elements of
teamwork and formed an integral core of my learning in this module but this aspect was also
quite difficult due to the cultural differences hampering out progress which is also a stellar
example of globalization (Eichbaum, 2018).
Perspective of culture
As my brief stint as the team member of various projects which were included in the
study of this module, I faced many difficulties due to the cultural differences between me and my
team members. A major example is of language barriers and communication roadblocks as my
style of speaking is commanding while in some of my team members, their culture forbids
talking in such tone which hampered my progress. Another clash of cultures happens when we
decided as a group to make social media such as Twitter and Instagram a way to communicate
outside the academic institution and to make progress on our projects, but some of the team
members were not allowed to freely use gadgets in their spare time and one was even forbidden
to use social media sites due to religious reasons. These are major examples of the ways in which
globalization has affected the world as there are major cultural perspectives affecting academic
life in many countries. This is also a major example of globalization coming in many types as
such amalgamation of different cultures makes up for cultural globalization (Regev, 2019).
