INTRODUCTION
There has been a great increase in the employment of graduates as there are many factors
which create a favourable environment for the same which led to many benefits to country as
well as these freshers who looks for various jobs opportunities in the market.
The following reflective report includes factors which has great contribution in number of
job opportunities in economy and also the reason why many employees have not joined the jobs
which were provided to them by companies which has lead to increase in the number of
vacancies in past few years (Vinichenko and et.al., 2016). Many social and economic factors has
been discussed that affected the employment if industries and other aspects which are associated
with it. It also includes various facts and figures related to this scenario which has been surveyed
by various associations for proper implementation of data in my reflective report which led to
accurate information regarding the topic.
Reflective Report on account of the current climate for graduate recruitment
There has been an immense rise on the recruitment of graduates which led to create lots
of opportunities of jobs for fresher’s, according to some facts published by the Graduate Market
in 2017 says that the current number of graduates those are hired by various companies which
were featured in Times top 100 have been rose by 1.6 percent in 2016 as compared to the year of
2015. There has been a small increase as expected. Numerous graduates are turning down several
job offers which were accepted previously, that shows about 800 positions for freshers were
vacant and does not occupied by any candidate resulted in the reduce of intake for about a
quarter of the employers in UK. The top recruiter of the country has planned for increasing the
recruitment of these fresher’s by 4.3 percent in 2017. Workers in every six out of thirteen key
industries and various employment areas have been expected to employ further more freshers
than in 2016. There is an observed growth in the vacancies which has been expected at various
government sector companies and other online retailers and high street together are intended to
recruit about 1200 more graduates in 2017. Only eight of the UK's leading recruiter have opted
for reducing target for recruitment of graduates because of the Brexit Vote that has created
uncertainty (Premand and et.al., 2016) .
According to me, there are certain economic and social factors that have created a
favourable environment for the employment of fresher’s. Economic factors plays a crucial role
for there has been observed that there is an increase in the level of employment due to rise in the

work opportunities which led to more jobs for graduates and also recruiters will hire more
candidates in order to meet the demand of work so that companies does not bear any loss and is
able to contribute to the nation's economy. In addition, it leads to rise in the payroll of every
fresher which is requested. According to a survey, it has been showed that every non-
executive worker was receiving an average salary increase for about 2.6 percent between the
years 2015-2016 with a rise of 2.8 percent which was expected in the year 2017 .These
opportunities led to maximise the level of employment in the country.
With the commencement of the globalisation, an entrepreneur is more involved in
bringing new concept to make lifestyle more advanced with the collaboration of latest
technologies. For producing such a concept, there is a requirement of huge resource exploitation
from the surrounding for that great force of human resources. The introduction of information
technology has made the opportunities for job stronger (Bland and et. al., 2015). I saw a certain
rise of this sector which got flourished with ample of positions left for technical freshers. These
employees are even paid good packages for their first job. There are several trends that have
been born in an economy, which says that a fresher comes up with more new ways of performing
that obsolete work which can improve the time taken for the effort and cost related to it can be
reduced. This contribution of the graduated employees has made the nation more youth
empowered that brought many advantages for country itself. The cost of living of resident has
been increased which forced every candidate to seek for a job so that they at least can earn some
minimum pay for their living.
I have analysed that the vacant positions which were been surveyed in the past year that
were not filled by fresher, is now getting occupied at a fast rate, because there are many
expenditures which requires monetary aspects that has to be arranged somehow. Therefore,
graduates are focusing on getting employed for any job which is offering a good amount. Earlier
the condition of industries was not very good which ultimately affected all the workers who were
working (Zwysen and Longhi, 2018). Thus there were very less employees as compared to the
required number but with a rise in the economy it was seen that the conditions of the industry is
getting improved that resulted in increase in the facilities provided to them by an organisation.
As the facilities satisfies every worker but also attracts those who search for job. This facility has
played a major role for a graduate’s employment.

There are also social factors which facilitated the recruitment of fresher’s in past few
years. One of the major factors that have been considered is the concept of identity. The interest
of an employee and the loyalty depends upon the way through which it perceives certain
organisation and their individual groups. With certain efforts done by company which has
brought new concepts that has created a good relationship among employees has develop a good
working environment resulted in the building up of good image in the outer environment which
helps to attract more applications of freshers (Olowa and Olowa, 2015). In addition, various
affirmative action’s have played an effective role in changing the mindset of employees. The
affirmative action regulation has changed over the past 25 years which has lead to provide
support to women and minorities for holding several positions such as lawyers, doctors,
astronauts and judges of courts.
This has motivated every youngster who belongs to this category are effectively applying
for various jobs and are provided equal opportunities. Every field has been flooded with female
applicants who not only excelling in their jobs but also providing a great competition to male
competitors. With supportive laws for no racial discrimination, the people belonging to minority
got their equal rights of getting proper education and a good job which built up a new confidence
in them and a strong increase in candidates belonging to this category are working in good
organisation with a good repute (Gregory, Matthew and Baguley, 2018). These social factors
have helped in developing a favourable environment for the employment which benefited them a
lot.
With an increase in the job opportunities, the living standards of every individual has
increased which has lead to make every native fully able to fulfil every tax and support the
government which benefits the economy in return. A strong economy can develop the country
with more improved living conditions and better opportunities of jobs and availability of
everything that is required for going ahead in life (Eboli, Forciniti and Mazzulla, 2014). Seasonal
fluctuations also affects employment as some industries has the production of products which
has demand just for the specific time period then one can see the rise in the requirement of these
job but when the industry reaches the off season phase the employees which are required
decreases (Graduate Employability: A Review of Conceptual and Empirical Themes.2018) .Also
the salary of current employees decreases due to less production of goods and services whereas
an individual was flooded with monitory benefits as per season's demand.
