INTRODUCTION
Managing sustainability of a company at the competitive marketplace is quite difficult for
an organisation which requires ample number of activities to be performed. It is very essential
for a company to conduct their business functions in an effective and systematic manner by using
all the available resources in an appropriate manner. It is essential as it assist in giving ideas that
how work is needed to be done (Villena and Gioia, 2018). In context of the present file, a detail
analysis about experience which is gained by me while developing this report. In order to
identify the performance, various reflective logs are going to be developed in this report so that
the whole learning and observation will be examined in an effective and appropriate manner.
MAIN BODY
Reflective Statement
In the present context of this report, it can easily be understood by me that sustainability
is an essential as well as crucial topic which helps in identifying that how work needs to be done
so that the company or business entity can maintain their name at the marketplace for a longer
period of time. While doing this project, it has been identified by the that any kind of decision
need to be taken on the basis of the situation arise at the workplace. Along with this, all the
decisions must consider all the legal policies and laws in an effective manner.
It is learned by me that effective leadership as well as management is required by the
organisation in order to perform all the work in an effective and systematic manner. Leaders and
managers provide guidance to the staff member that what they need to done in order to maintain
long term sustainability at the competitive marketplace (Crane and et. al., 2019). Furthermore,
they are the one who have enough capability and knowledge to take decisions within given time
frame which will assist business entity.
Reflective Log 1
Task: In the first week or we can say initial stage for preparing the whole report, it is
required to collect all the necessary information and data about the chosen organisation. It refers
to the work which is quite important to be completed in the very week so that any kind of issues
and problems can be reduced while preparing the project in an effective manner. while I was in
the first stage of the report, I was very much focused that what are the essential areas which need

to be covered by me for gathering authentic and accurate data and information so the whole
result can be improved.
Strength/Weakness: While conducting all the information that how power or energy can
be saved, I have analysed lot of social media sector for gathering information. It helps me in a
positive manner and provide me favour that how I have to work. Along with this, weakness is
that while gathering information and data it is quite difficult for me to differentiate which data is
authentic and reliable (Miglietta, Morrone and Lamastra, 2018).
Level of Difficulties: It has been said that there are no difficulties faced by me while
gathering information as I was clear that I to collect relevant and authentic information so that
while outcome will be positive in nature. This is the week where I got ample number of
opportunities to collect information and data from different sources.
Skilled improved: It has been identified by me that I got an opportunity to increase my
analytical knowledge which is required by me to collect authentic information about specific
topic. Along with this, by using different sources such as social media, newspaper and other
resources my analytical skills have been improved in an effective manner.
Further necessity: At this time, my overall performance has been examined which is
done by me in the whole week. After this, it has been observed by me that whether I need any
improvement or not for future requirements.
Reflective Log 2
Task: In the second week, the main task which is performed by me is that to examine the
authenticity and accuracy about the data collected by me. Along with this, it is also required to
examine whether all the information is correct or not. This is the week where my skills has also
been examined that whether I was enough capable to gather the information which is required by
me while doing this project.
Strength and Weakness: It has been said that I was very good in gathering information
but it becomes difficult for me to make differentiation between which information is needed by
me in order to produce positive results (Wiesner, Chadee and Best, 2018). My strength is that I
can easily learn new techniques to gather required information which will provide me ample
number of opportunities in near future.
Level of Difficulties: When I was gathering information, ample number of sites provide
different information which is quite difficult for me to select best and most suitable information

for my project. along with this, it consumes lot of time and effort which might create delay in
completion of whole project.
Skilled improved: It was clearly known by me that it is quite essential for me to make
plans and policies so that all the work can be done by me in an effective manner. this is the skill
which is required by me to be improved so that I was capable enough to conduct the whole
project in an effective manner and within given time frame I can produce positive outcome.
Further Requirement: Although, it is the second week where I got to know and learn
more about how information will be gathered for completing the whole project in an effective
manner (Mousavi, Bossink and van 2018). along with this, I have to focus on some articles and
books which will provide me authentic and required information in an effective and efficient
way. This will provide me chance to improve my learning and skills so that I can produce
positive outcomes.
Kolbs reflective model:
I would like to develop a detail overview of my learnings based on Kolb's reflective
model that has four major aspect that can help in generation of a detail overview my overall
earnings in the process of module:
Concrete experience: This is the first aspect of the model tat is related to experiencing a
situation and the way I have learnt some new things or improved my existing learnings. I came to
understand about waste management in hospitality organisations that was something new. In the
process in hospitality industries and its impact on reduction of waste. Further I already knew the
concept of sustainable transport but I learnt about the importance of suitable tourism for
economy of a country (Matsuo, and Nagata, 2020)
Reflective observation: This stage of model helps in describing the overall experience of
the real situation. Such as all group members were assigned a particular individual topic but I
realised that some topics were in detail and it require more than one individual to be involved. I
had to work on the transport issues connected with sustainability and how growth of economies
are helping in increasing the personal disposable income of people across countries (Labib,
Canós and Penadés,, 2017).
Abstract conceptualisation: This stage is related with finding various ways to deal with
situations and strategies to experience a similar situation in future. From the module I developed
a clarity about the concept of corporate social responsibility and its application in practical

business scenario. Further I developed a overview of how sustainability is managed in supply
chain process of business organisations and is connected with flow of goods & services and its
conversion freedom raw material to finished product.
Active experimentation: This is the last safe where I developed a deep understand of some new
knowledge that was complete different from existing information that I posses. I will be applying
the concepts of sustainability and corporates social responsibility concept to organisations in
which I will be working in future prospects (Baker and Robinson, 2016). It is going to help
towards gaining a deep insight of its positive impact on generation of a appropriate brand image.
Above mentioned Kolbs model to understand the level and its impact on the way
learnings are being done by a individual in course of learning a particular module.
Reflective Log 3
Task: In the third week, it has identified by me that I need to make plans and policies to
understand the meaning and importance of environment, sustainability, competition, resources
and many more which is associated with my project. with the help of this, I can easily improve
my performance as well as skills which will provide me ample number of opportunities in the
near future.
Strength/Weakness: It has been observed by me that I was good in good in learning new
things which will aid me in producing positive results in an effective manner. on the other hand,
my weakness is that I don’t have enough knowledge and information about the topic which
might affect my overall performance in a negative manner. Whole group was assigned a task of
learning all the key aspects that are related to managing of sustainability at workplace. There is a
measure that hotel industry have to focus in management of sustainability issues. There are
certain implementation strategies like solar power and LED lights that were identified to be
adopted as a measure of using energy sources in various offices. I realised that best part was that
each member of the group was assigned specific task that helped me and my all team members in
generation of effective results.
Level of Difficulties: It is the week where level of difficulties is quite high for me as I
need to make plans and policies so that all the work will be done in a systematic and authentic
manner. along with this, there are some resources which not need to be used in excessive nature
as it might create some problems and issues. Along with this, it is quite difficult for me to learn
how water, biodiversity, carbon and society might work and provide positive results to the

company in order to maintain long term sustainability at the competitive marketplace (Clinton
and Whisnant, 2019).
Skilled improved: After completing the third week in an effective manner, it has been
identified by me that it is quite essential for me to learn new things which will assist me in
enhancing my skills and capabilities. In the similar way, it has also been identified by me that
competition is increasing on a regular basis which requires utilisation of effective resources by
developing policies and plans so that the issues and problems can be reduced.
Further Requirement: In order to enhance my knowledge about the topic of
sustainability, resource, environment and many more, it is required by me to update myself on a
regular basis so that positive results will be produced in an effective manner (Clayton and
Radcliffe, 2018).

Task: In case of fourth week, it is required by me to know about the legal policies and
languages so that positive results will be performed. In context of sustainability & environment,
it has been observed by me that I have to examine different laws and policies which can be
applicable in an effective manner and can easily be followed in any sort of situation arise at the
workplace.
Strength/Weakness: It is observed by me that the legal language is quite difficult to
understand but also play very essential role in order to maintain sustainability of the organisation
at the competitive marketplace. Whereas, strength is that I am good in learning and
understanding legal policies which provide me ample number of opportunities and benefits.
Level of Difficulties: In this week, it is said that the level of difficulty is quite moderate
because the primary thing is that it is very difficult to find legal policies and strategies related to
the topics. This is the main issue faced by me while I was preparing the whole project.
Skilled improved: Here, I got ample number of advantages and opportunity to learn
various types of laws & regulations mainly associated with the sustainability and environment
and sustainability. This will assist in marinating the long term sustainability of the organisation
at the competitive marketplace in an effective and positive manner.
Further Requirement: In context of legal sector, it has been observed by me that there
are no further requirements which is needed by me to produce positive results. There are various

policies and plans which will help in gaining information and data in order to sustain at the
competitive marketplace in an appropriate manner (van, 2018).
Reflective Log 5
Task: The fifth or last week is about executing all the knowledge as well as
understanding in a written form which is required for me to clear that what I have learned from
last few weeks.
Strength and Weakness: Major strength of mine is that I am quite good in developing
and preparing notes which is being learned by me in various stages so that I will not face any
kind of issues and problems.
Level of Difficulties: I have not examined any kind of difficulties in order to write
information and data which is being gathered by me in different levels. Sometimes, I have faced
issues related to grammar which is easily handle by me by passing time.
Skilled improved: My overall skill is quite effective which is not needed to be further
improved. But grammar is required to be improved in order to gain ample number of
opportunities in near future (Maletič, Maletič and Gomišček, 2018). in the last stage is
discovered that I was able to develop a detail overview of all different aspects that are
communication policies between a organisation and guests, buying in bulk quantities and he
impact on revenue and market. Further I felt that I was not able to understand the implications to
house keeping and customers care services that are part of all organisations and there is a need
to ensure high sustainability management in these organisations.
Further Requirement: Still, I need to work in order to collect information and data
related to legal policies and laws as I have to improve it for grabbing ample number of
opportunities at the competitive marketplace in near future. Therefore, this will assist me in
improving all my skills and information so that I will be able to conduct similar sort of projects
in near future.

CONCLUSION
With the help of above mentioned reflective report, it has been said that managing
sustainability can be a crucial activity for an organisation which requires lot of positive plans and
structure to be performed. Along with this, it will assist a business entity that how they need to
utilise their resources which doesn’t create any sort of issue and problem. On the other hand,
talking about reflective logs, it will assist an individual person in order to decide what is required
by them in order to accomplish their goals and objectives in an effective manner and within
given time frame.
