REFLECTION
PRIMARY REFLECTION
A group of 5 people was made to carry out a simulation activity. Initially, before starting the
simulation project, all the members introduced themselves in front of each other and started their
strong and weak areas. Belbin's team role theory was used to comprehend and analyse different
roles played by an individual. I acted as a resource allocator and coordinator between the other
team members as I am well aware of my abilities and I know I possess effective communication skills
that could help in this situation (Lynch et al. 2018). In the first few meetings, all the group members
discussed what is to be done in the project and divided the duties accordingly based on the interest
and specialities of every member.
SECONDARY REFLECTION
I gave my best throughout the simulation both as an individual as well as a team member. I focused
on collecting all the resources such as materials, information, researches for preparing the business
plan and shared it with my team and coordinated well with all the members and helped in mediating
the information from one person to another. I felt satisfied with my performance as I was able to
fulfil my duties efficiently because of my effective communication and other interpersonal skills. I felt
really good when our team completed the whole project within the specified deadline. I contributed
various research materials that aided in assessing risks, finding competitors of the business and
understanding their tactics, carrying out financial projections and preparing the business plan
successfully (Johnston, 2017). Also, there were few situations where two-three members of the
team disagreed with each other resulting in conflict and I managed to listen to the problem and
viewpoint of each member and used negotiation strategy to solve the conflict. I was quite impressed
with the skills and contributions to the project. My contributions in the team were beneficial in
preparing an efficient and reliable business plan of three years for the Zero Company operating in
the sports industry. The team members also voted me as a team leader after a week of working
together as they felt my skills and competencies are quite appreciable. I was glad to be a part of this
team and to see their confidence in me and I worked hard throughout the project to achieve the
best results timely.
FUTURE INTENTIONS
The only thing I feel was lacking in our team was self-determination and discipline that led to a few
conflicts among the members and it resulted in wasting much of our time. In future, if allowed to

work in groups, I would try to lead the team or initiate conversations regarding the significance of
working together as a team in gaining best results (Skinner and Mitchell, 2016).

CONCLUSION
Thus, it can be stated that working in teams is necessary for completing difficult tasks easily with the
expertise of different minds and deriving on the best and the most meaningful conclusions. The
above report emphasized on reflecting own performance of being a part of a simulation project.
