INTRODUCTION
Employability skills refers as a set of transferable skills that requires by
individuals to make themselves employable, highly competent and effective technical
understanding. The major benefits of employability skills are that individuals are suited
for the effective position in the company. In this report will reflect on the employability
skills learning their reflective model such as Gibb’s reflective model.
Task 2
Gibb’s Reflective Model
It is most famous framework for the self-reflection and liable to implement in
different contexts and assists to analysed. American psychologist and sociologist
Grahams Gibb’s proposed this framework. I used this framework to express my feelings
after gathering feedbacks through completing number of activities (Bryan and Clegg,
eds., 2019). This model also supported me to develop my employability skills. This
model contains five stages of learning such as description that about whole experience,
feeling over a learning program or incident, evaluation is third stage that focuses on
whole experience in learning process. While analysis is a fourth stage of learning that
involves in assessing of various prospects of learning, conclusion stage represents
about what have done in learning program and what action could have taken to
advance learning experience and at the last this framework comprises action plan that
represents that how to deal with same situation in the future. This framework helps
people to think precisely regrading experiences which already have experienced by
them during performing tasks. With this model I have identified my strengths, weakness,
driving factors that helped me manage my employability skills effectively. Stages of
Gibb’s model are mentioned below:
Description
It is primary stage of Gibb’s reflective model wherein overview about events on
which self-reflection is dictated in detail. I got task to write literature review over the
topic related to my subject topic. That time my motto was to give informative information

over the topic which could make literature review more effective and logical (Daly,
2016). I decided to use formal language in the literature review because it would build
positive image in the senior authorities and analyzer’s mind. I collected all qualitative
information related to topic within given timeframe. However, I developed a plan to
mentioned my all tasks related to topic and which I would require to complete within
timeframe. This plan supported me to carry out all tasks in efficient manner. Thus, I
performed number of activities to complete my task. Even I requested my seniors to
guide me while gathering information related to my topic. There was a specific reason
such as I wanted to ensure that work is completed by me which should creative and
quite effective and different from others. Then I collected feedbacks from the senior
authorities and friends over my literature review that supported me to improve my
employability skills.
Feelings
It is another stage of Gibb’s reflection model wherein shows or express real
feeling’s pre and post event or task. While working on the Literature Review obtained
numerous emotions in me like it was my first time whereas I was going to write literature
review so, I was bit nervous. The topic was related to my subject topic so I was happy
because most of the things associated me topic, I have already experienced but rest of
things was new for me that made me more excited. For example, I have good written
communication skills so I enabled to write productive content in literature review. While
completing number of activities I have experienced numerous things that I never faced
such as when I was completing number of activities then I was unable to manage time
effectively so it became quite difficult for me to complete my task on time (Dhaliwal,
Singh and Singh, 2017). When I critically evaluate all facts related to my task that
enhanced my comprehensive knowledge about various new facts then I enable to
portray logical conclusion of the task. When I completed all activities related to my task
and gathered actual feedbacks from others that made me feel so great because they
appreciated me for my written communication skills.

This stage supports to examine all things related to topic such as what went right
or wrong which is needed to address that task have completed precisely or not. There
are lots of things that went much well in this task which I did not expected such as I
enable to communicate with lots of people through my written communication skills that
impressed to analyzer and seniors. They praised me about my written skills because
whatever content recorded by me in this task that was quite formal, logical and well-
designed like professional literature review. Digital skill supported me to gather most of
the knowledge through internet. For example, I have knowledge to operate number of
digital devices, communication skills and other networks sites so I enable to access all
relevant information related to topic and managed them as per the sequence. So, I did
not need to go for large number books to collect information. Thus, this skill saved me
more time while gathering information (Misra and Khurana, 2017). To write effective
literature review needs critical thinking so, I have good critical thinking skill that assisted
me to portray content logically. With this skill I also portrayed logical conclusion overall
task that gave finishing touch to my task. There were another several things which went
actual wrong or it could perform better for example I was lacking behind time
management skills due to this I had to skip two and three activities so I thought if I had
good time management skills then I could perform my task more effectively as
compared this. While completing activities related to task analyzed by me that I was
lacking behind research skills due to this I was finding difficulties to collect relevant
information related to my subject topic. When I gathered feedbacks from seniors and
others then they said literature review was good but presentation was not up to that
level that content have. Due to these reasons task was not accomplished that level
which I expected.
Analysis
This stage associate to the evaluation of learning that are developed by
individuals while performing number of activities for the specific task. As I improved
employability skills while working on the task like effective written communication that
helped me to record all information in precise manner. This task supported me to
understand significance of written communication and I learned that if people have good

written communication skill then they can impact number of people through their
message. As same concept implements for me, I have written communication skill then
I enable to highlight such areas related to my topic in the literature review which
impressed externals and others who were reading my content which I recorded. While
critical thinking skills assisted me to write content logically and I wrote some argued
statement as well (Rowe, 2018). So, I felt I wrote good content but due to lack behind of
time management, planning and presentation skills I did not get that satisfaction level
which I expected. Thus, I have learned from my weaknesses that all issues could be
solved effectively if I followed my schedule effectively.
Conclusion
It second lasts stage that supports individuals to look back overall situation that
faced by them while working on the task. When I critically analyzed my task that I
achieved and all the steps which could be taken more precisely to gain desirable
results. In addition, I analyzed other things as well which was performed more
effectively by me in this task. Time management and research skill were my major
weaknesses due to these I unable to complete my task effectively which was expected
by me (Ruge and McCormack, 2017). I gathered more good reviews over my activities
which I completed in this task, from my seniors and externals that made me feel
confident. However, senior authorities gave my negative comment as well on my task
which I completed that made me feel bit demotivate but I have decided to improve my
weak areas to take additional classes and practices all guidance of seniors and others.
Action Plan
It is last stage of self-refection model wherein discuss on overall actions that
could be taken more precisely in the future if get similar situation. I enlisted all my
weaknesses such as time management and research skills etc. because these skills will
support me to develop employability skills effectively which can be applied in future. I
have decided next time I will manage my time while performing number of activities in
task so that I get chance to do something impressive work in the task ( Scott and et.al.,
2019). However, I knew that this time I did not complete my task effectively which can

stand my expectation as well as externals but next time I will take care of all issues
which I have experienced in this task. Thus, I will develop and improve my skills that will
improve my personality and employability skills as well.
Personal Development Plan (PDP)
