Introduction
The theories of psychology often refer to the concept of “nature v/s nurture.” Nature denotes
some inherent tendencies of a person whereas the nurture tells us about the impact of the
immediate society and the events that are taking place in his life. Concept of social acceptance
forces us to control our inherent tendencies and change the way we think. This is the time where
a self-analysis is required to fix certain issues in the personality and thought the process of a
person. In this assignment, I am going to present the results of various personality analysis tests
like Johari window, DISC, and MBIT. With the help of certain incidents of my life, I will
explore the shortcomings of personality and methods to resolve them.
Part B
The results of the self-analysis tests
Findings of my own culture and influence of Group affliction, self-identity, behavior and
attitude
Before starting a reflective analysis it is very important to introduce the readers about the nurture
of a subject. I am an Australian citizen, spending my life and times in an urban locality of
Australia. I am developing my world view from the perspective of a God-fearing and law-
abiding society. The culture surrounding me is cosmopolitan in nature. My social circles in the
field of studies, friends, and relatives promote the concept of free will thinking and practice of
scientific temperament ahead of the standards norms of behavior prescribed by the culture and

social tapestry. I figured out that there is nothing wrong in my nurture; the groups where I am
moving are supportive. The cultural background also promotes an open personality.
The cumulative results of Johari Window, DISC and MBTI
The results of the Johari window reflects that in the public arena I am an introvert person with
helping nature. The unknown quadrant of this window gave me the idea that my friends feel that
I am self-conscious and feels uneasy during social outings. The fourth quadrant of the Johari
window reflects me as a person who is capable of good social interactions but fails because of
the lack of confidence. The area which is not known to the others states the fact that I am
sensitive about other’s feeling (Saxena, 2015).
My DISC personality profile indicates that my score is low on the scale of dominance because of
the lack of confidence; this lack of confidence also brings down my influence on the various
social groups. I am analytical in nature and this fact allows me to score high in the quadrant of
conscientiousness, this also gives me the virtue of striking compliance in various working and
social groups (Wiley, 2014). My scores are high in the quadrant of steadiness because I am
accommodating to new ideas and my temperament is even with people based on the principles
and sound judgment of right and wrong. The MBTI test gives me the moniker of INTP, it means
that I am introvert who believes in intuition instead of logic, and I think a lot about problems and
believe in offering perceived solutions.
What surprised me most about yourself and of others
The results of self-analysis tests gave me an idea that I am a “leader material” however; my lack
of confidence in me often drags me back. The results of Johari Window and DISC give me this
idea that I am a steady team player and in the open arena of Johari Window, people know my
strengths and find me trustworthy. However, my lack of confidence in me drags me back and

changes the group dynamism for me because they feel that I am not able to give a finishing touch
to the job.
Strength and weaknesses of my personality
The natural traits of my personality are pushing me back. For instance, the result of MBTI tests
is very accurate, I am introvert, I am not able to come up with the right kind of communications
at the right time. MBTI result says that I am INTP, I move ahead with the help of perceptions
instead of right information because I am an introvert and often I fail in asking questions from
my seniors and other group members (Hasan, 2019). It is a big drawback for my learning process
as well. After completing these self-analysis tests I can remember two incidences that took place
in my life and confirmed the results.
The results of the Johari window also tell me that my teammates consider me as a capable
person, blocking his personality because of self-doubts and lack of confidence. This result also
taught me a lot about the nature of the conflicts that I am facing during social and organizational
interactions. It all starts with an internal conflict when I underestimate my capacities. This
behavior inflicts a chain reaction where I end up in underperforming. This underperformance
changes the attitude of my team members towards me. In the absence of proper appreciation and
better deals, the feeling of resentment breeds inside me and breaks my confidence even further.

The first incident from the work experience
Recently my group along with me participated in an “awareness quiz and essay competition” we
were told to figure out the list of political stakeholders in the process of interoperable
communication between the government offices, we were divided into groups. I was sharing a

group with three more students (Riggio, 2014). This awareness quiz was organized by an NGO
with an intention to promote good civic sense among the citizens of Australia. My group
members influenced me and guide me to write about the role of the local agencies and how they
can integrate their communications with the political stakeholders. I wrote the answer
unwillingly because my gut feeling was saying that it is a smart question and instructors are
foxing us with a trick.
Our group got the rank of F, we failed in the quiz. It indeed was a smart question, government
offices are not political bodies they are administrative bodies. This is why political stakeholders
are not present in the case. I recollected this incident after reading my MBTI results where they
dubbed me as an introvert. While solving the above-said problem, I failed in raising my voice; I
should have said that it is a smart question. The fourth quadrant of the Johari window also talks
about a lack of confidence in my personality. This incident also confirmed that the results given
by the Johari window were correct. My DISC personality test suggests that I have great
compliances with the groups where I am moving, this incident confirms this result also. As we
can see that in order to prove my compliances with the group I accepted a decision which was
wrong. Quite surprisingly most of the other groups participating in the quiz failed in identifying
the trick of that smart question. My lack of confidence forced my group to lose an opportunity of
winning.
Example 2
The local municipal head of our area recently launched a cleanliness drive, in order to spread
awareness he told the youngsters of the area to conduct a small survey about the awareness levels
of the individuals and publish a report. My analytical and organizational skills are good, the

results of the DISC personality test confirms that I did all the hard work of preparing survey
sheets, data collection, and preparation of the results. Due to my lack of confidence and
ineffective public speaking skills, my group promoted one of my friends as the group leader. I
failed in giving a finishing touch to my hard work. Lack of confidence leads to many negative
personality traits, I became a victim of stage freight in this situation.
How the results of self-analysis tests can change the above two scenarios
Johari window, DISC, and MBTI tells us about our negative traits, however, at the same time
they also introduce us with some of the positive traits of our personality, for instance in the
current results tells of MBIT me that my analytical faculty is satisfactory and I have a brain that
can be considered as thinking brain. Johari window analysis of my personality states that people
trust me and they feel that I am capable of delivering goods but somehow I lack the confidence
(Yang, 2015). The DISC results show that I am steady with the teams and have a sound decision-
making faculty working behind me. Once a person is aware of his strengths then it can make a
huge difference, my trust in my analytical abilities could have to change the fate of the results in
the example one. Similarly, my confidence levels about the public speaking could have won me
all the appreciation for the hard work that I did with the survey forms.
Conclusion
In the previous section, I talked about the positive traits of my personality. I jotted them down on
a paper. When I gave them a second look and compared my notes with a self-help book about
effective leadership, I realized that most of the leadership traits are present in my personality. My
lack of confidence and tendency of self-doubt is eclipsing my personality and dimming down my
chances of growth in an organizational structure.

The results of the self-analysis test prompted me to rethink about my capacities in the area of
communication. It also gives me the inspiration to curb down my self-doubting tendencies as
well.
