INTRODUCTION
Reflective practise is an ability where it has been used to express the action of own
practise from which another individual can understand and learn from the experience in effective
manner. This process is required to be learned and adopt as it allows to adopt the effective
knowledge and information which is very beneficial for the individual (Brooman and Stirk,
2020). The report will illustrate the reflective essay which includes the different tools which can
be used by the educator for performing the reflection and also it will mention the professional
development plan which will help an individual person to enhance their own learning.
MAIN BODY
TASK 2: REFLECTIVE ESSAY
Current performance requirements relevant to own practice
Reflective practise is a process of sharing their experience and knowledge to another
individual group of people from where the speaker can be able to provide the appropriate
information. Teaching is a process of attending the people needs, experience and feelings and
provide the definite amount of knowledge from where the learners can grab the knowledge
effectively. Being a teacher is a huge responsibility where they are mainly responsible for giving
the appropriate information respectively. Being an English literature teacher, I analysed myself
that giving the knowledge to the individual is a huge responsibility where the people can be able
to learn and grab the knowledge effectively (Quilty and Murphy, 2022). I always wanted to be a
good educator from where the students can be able to score excellently and can get good result.
For providing the effective teaching, I am required to follow some actions from where the
students can communicate with me appropriately.
Communication is one of the major source of providing the effective knowledge and
experience to an individual where the students can gain the knowledge respectively. Whenever,
the students are able to feel free and positive they can easily communicate with me and can
directly approach me for their doubts and any kind of issues they face (Agnew, 2022). However,
I realized that the students are not entirely able to connect with me directly whereas some
students are shy and some are not comfortable to talk with me where I decided to take some
implications to enhance the proper communication between me and students and can clear their
issues and doubts accurately. Some students are always shy and some are not comfortable where
I need to improve my communication areas by using different tools from where I can enhance

my teaching skill and abilities along with providing the effective result and outcome to the
students where they can easily understand the subject and can gain the excellent result. However,
I also realized that due to improper communication I am required to acquire and adopt some
actions to convey the better speech to the students. Here, mentioning some actions below:
Different tools for use in reflective teaching
Index cards: I decided to use the index cards for getting the appropriate information and
communication between me and the students from where I can easily understand the views of
them. Being an educator, it is my responsibility to solve the all the problems and issues the
student is facing in a particular class subject from where I can provide the accurate solution to
them (Bennett, 2019). Keeping the index cards at the classrooms in such an order where I
mentioned one or two questions on the cards as per my knowledge and will give the students to
answer them in written manner accordingly where they do not have to mention their names and
can easily write the answers of the questions without any hesitation. Some students feel shy and
uncomfortable from where using the index cards allowed the students to convey their view
effectively.
Suggestion box: The suggestion box is a very common tool which used at many places like
school and offices. The suggestion box is used by me where the box should be put at the
classrooms where the students can be able to convey their message freely and can communicate
with the educator easily (Weaver, Lavery and Heineken, 2019). Putting the suggestion box for
the students help me to get the proper reviews and feedbacks from the students in relation to
knowledge and study areas and can get the information in accurate manner from where I can put
my efforts to fulfil the needs and requirements easily.
Sticky Notes: The sticky notes is also an effective tool for getting the appropriate and accurate
amount of feedbacks and reviews and supports to evaluate the performance by implementing
such tool or strategy. The sticky notes have been utilized by me in such a manner where the
notes have been kept in the desk drawer where the students can come and take and write their
views and feedbacks in relating to the knowledge and issue they are facing in my class where I
can easily understand and solve the problem effectively. Thus, using this kind of tool it helped a
lot in getting the definite feedback in relation to study and particular course.

Importance of feedback
Taking the feedbacks is most important activity and a method which individual teacher
has to apply from where they can easily evaluate their teaching performance respectively. Being
an educator I realized that it is a huge responsibility where I have to put my best efforts in
making the students comfortable by fulfilling their appropriate needs and requirements which
reflects my education and my teaching performance. Feedbacks simply means a view point of
the student in regard to my teaching performance so that I can understand my improvement areas
which is required to be developed effectively (Bunniss, 2021). Feedback put the higher and great
impact on the students learning areas where they can get the appropriate opportunities to set out
the learning goals.
Being an educator, I was required to adopt the views and feedbacks from my students so
that I can improve myself and my skills where also there are different feedback sources such as
using of index cards, suggestion box, sticky notes, KWL chart and even such more. These all
feedback sources helps me to get the appropriate and accurate views of the students where it will
help me to increase and improve my teaching skills. I want to express my personal feedback
taking system where I believe in making the students comfortable with me to talk about anything
so that they can convey their views and issues effectively (Gill and Hooper, 2020). I always try
to create a frank and positive learning environment where the students do not meet to any
problem and issue but if in any case they face the issue they can directly communicate and
contact me and ask me anything which will enable me to understand my teaching skill and my
performance in relation to students excellent results.
However, I believe in taking the accurate feedbacks and reviews from the students so that
I can easily enhance my teaching skills and abilities where my performance can be improved
effectively and can deliver the effective knowledge and information. The feedback method or
process enables me or an individual teacher to perform well in the educational sector and provide
the effective learning and knowledge to the students.
Assess the extent to which own practice is inclusive and promotes equality and diversity
Being an educator, I founded that inclusive practise is the important factor to be
considered by me at the workplace from where the students can understand the equality and
diverse environment (Guram, Onks, Novotny and Brooks Taylor, 2020). In a classroom,
promoting the equality and diversity is the most important activity which should be followed and

applied in relation to become a good educator with good image and reputation. Being a tutor, I
always believe in maintaining the inclusiveness in the sessions and promoting the equality and
diversity where the students can easily learn and obtain the knowledge effectively. Inclusiveness
simply means treating each student equal without any bias and partiality and providing the equal
opportunities to the individual where the discrimination do not take place either (Pirrie and Day,
2019). The equality and diversity are the two things where being a teacher I need to follow and
also students have to maintain themselves properly from where no false activities should be done
and provides the effectiveness.
Thus, I always treat the students equally and gives the equal opportunities and balances
the diverse working environment which also helps and supports the students to get engaged with
each other in definite manner. A teacher always need to encourage their students to grow and
move ahead and learn the different traditions and cultures and respect them. Being a teacher I
always want to work at a place where I can deliver the knowledge where I can promote and
implement a diverse culture and also can provide the equality among the students from which
they can be able to respect each other culture and religion effectively.
