Refection on group work activities
While working in a group I analysed my skills and weaknesses and also learned several new
things. I can say that group working is one of the best ways of increasing skills and performing
functions in an effective manner. I found that different people in group have different behaviours
that can sometimes lead to conflict because their perceptions do not match while making
decision (Land, 2019). Decision making process was critical task because of different
perception of people. But one of my colleagues had an effective ability of making decision so;
with this help we made final and appropriate decision. I found that I have an effective
communication skills and this skill helped me out in interacting with all my group members
providing them information related to the topic. While working in a group, I also found that I am
lacking behind in making use of technology in an effective manner. But with the help of seniors
and peers I increased this skill of making use of technology as I learned effective ways and
practiced that helped me out in improving this skill.
Other main problem that we all faced was language problem. In group project, there were
different cultures and backgrounds of people so; we faced some problems in interacting with
each other’s due to different languages. It was main problem but by working in team we all tried
to understand each other’s and it improved our relation with each other’s and it made easier for
us to perform all functions in an effective manner. I also recognized that I have an integrity skill
or ability to understand human behaviours and understanding their feelings (Javed and et.al.,
2020). It plays an important role when we work in a team for accomplishing common goals. For
reducing conflicts, miscommunication and taking decision, we all require having this ability of
understanding others. I felt that it helps us out in influencing others and understanding them. By
helping to each other’s and continuous communication made us all able in solving problems and
focusing on work with concentration. It also helped us out in completing our work in timely and
effective manner. I also believe that working in team is better than working individually because

we learn several new things, it improves our relation and makes us able in completing work in
timely manner with collaboration and different skills that all members posses. I also learned
effective ways of managing time and completing work in a timely manner. With group members
I learned importance of prioritizing tasks and one of the main barriers in time management is
procrastination. I had this problem but by getting opportunity of team or group working I
improved this skills and I believe that it will help me out in getting employment opportunity in
desired field. I also believe that when we complete our tasks in timely manner then it keeps us
concentrate, focused and happy at workplace (Browne and et.al., 2016).
