Design Documentation
Analysing the appearance of website named “pretty clothing”, the colour scheme used for it
is red and green which is quite attractive to attract customers towards it and have a look at it for
few seconds. The screen saver at the home page of website displays that the website is regarding
clothing range of boys, girls and kids. Style and pattern of the website is subtle yet attractive as it
has been prepared on white base background. The chosen colours are not bright which will no
affect people having some visual disabilities. Hence, cool and soothing colours have been
adopted by the website developer. It has effectively defined various areas of website in same
colour combinationso as to promote a single colour scheme for consistency (Hartl, 2016). The
pictures available on home page are also of high quality with attractive colours and
patterns.Hence, it can be stated thatthe website has been effectively designed by the web
developer so thatmaximum traffic of customer can be attracted towards it.

Analysing the look of website at two different browsers, it can be analysed thatthe look is
similar for internet explorer and google chrome. It reflects that the coding that has been done by
web developer is effective enough as the look of website does not change by bringing change in
the web browser. It is an effective way to present the website as if two people open it in different

browser the over all content, look and colours does not get diminished (Zakas, 2013). Hence, it
can be stated that the website developed by web develop is effective enough that it is compatible
on both the browser, that are, internet explorer and google chrome.

Certain links are given to the website so that the customer of user can directly reach to
the page which he/ she wants to use. In such cases, it becomes important to give certain linkson
home page inclusive of the pathway so that one can directly land to the other page through the
pathway attached in that link. In the present website of pretty clothing, various links have been
created by the web developer. It is inclusive of the links for home page, that helps the user to
land to the main page of website. Other link is for About describing details of the company. A
link for product details it deals in is also included on the website (Gilbertson and Machin, 2012).
Contact information in also available in the contact hyperlink of thepage. In the end, link for
ladies and girls clothing, men’s clothing range and kids clothing have also been given so as to
make the user interface for the customer and user quite easier.
PART B
Reflection and evaluation
Designing and development of website was such as nice experience for me. I have leant
many things and have developed my skills to great extent. This project has improved my
knowledge about website designing and tools that are used during designing such sites. Earlier to
this, I was having little knowledge of technologies and designing. This has created huge issue
for me. I was unable to understand the clear process of developing a website. But my seniors
and tutors have guided me well. They have supported me in improving my technological skill. I

have worked on Adobe Dreamweaver software. I learnt that this software is helpful in designing
a website in effective manner. There are various options of designing such as colours, fonts, style
etc. This is amazing software that provides users an intuitive platform for building a website.
This is great tool because individual has facility of code editor thus, ideal environment can be
created. I understood that through Dreamweaver I can connect to server and can download
necessary files easily. This software has helped me in designing this website effectively.
As I had to prepare some sketches to show actual designing of cloths. For that I used
Sketch software. This is probably is the great designing software. That helps in designing quality
sketches. This is generally used buy web developer because by this way they show the actual
products in website significantly. During this project I have used CSS validation language. I have
learnt that this is great option as compare to other applications because it supports users in
minimising text editing issues. There are several facilities available for the web designer that
makes their work so easy and effective. I have read about this CSS software during my
education but practically I have never used it. This practical experience of mine was so amazing
and I have improved my knowledge about the best software that may help in web designing to
great extent. CSS tab designer software aids person in quick designing and generating strict
Xhtml compliant codes.
I have also used HTML language, this is oldest coding language but this is widely used
by developers for formatting and designing of web pages. I have learnt that HTML is very easy
to understand and easy to use as well. This is supported by all browsers thus, I have not faced
major issues when I was using this language during web page designing. XML syntax are similar
to HTML thus, it enhances working efficiency and gives more authentic results. During this
research and project I got to know that HTML is search engine friendly application or language.
By using this language web programming can be done easily. This is easily readable and
accessible tool that supports in reducing crawling time.
I have majorly used HTML and CSS validation languages. Both these tools have
provided me better platform to design a website in most effective manner. My strategy has
supported me to create user friendly and accessible website. Both these applications are easy to
use and user friendly. These can be accessed in any browser. But I had to make changes in my
strategies related to use of HTML. I have realised that errors rectification in HTML is very
costly. HTML is able to create plain pages and as I had to make dynamic pages where cloths

sketches can be shown clearly and can be eye catching thus, I had to make changes in my
strategy of using HTML. I majorly worked on CSS validation because it ensures viability of web
documents. I have made changes in planning; first I have learnt about these applications and
language and have taken guidance from my seniors. This has improved my knowledge. After that
I have implemented it for designing web page.
My objective was to improve my technical and programming skills. I want to become a
good web developer. Both these objectives have been achieved by this project. My experience
would be beneficial for me in working on same technical projects. I would be able to perform
well in future projects. I would be able to utilise my experience in this website development or
designing projects significantly. I have improved my communication skill, as during working on
this project I had to coordinate with my peer group members and tutors as well. They have given
me information about some software that is used in web designing and they have also informed
me about difference between traditional and modern methods. Now I am able to interact with
others significantly. I can convince other in better way and can convey my message to them in
efficient manner.
My technical skills have been developed greatly, now I know about latest technologies that
can be better in order to design and develop web page. Now I am able to work on IT projects
individuals. This project has also improved my team working and team leading capabilities.
Earlier to that I was unable to work in big team but now I am able to lead a big team and work in
team in better manner. My motivational skill has been developed, as initially due to lack of
knowledge I was under confident but while working in this project I learnt that individual must
be motivated so that person can perform their work effectively. I have taken immediate decision
of using advance software such as adobe reader and CSS validation. This has helped me in
minimizing technical errors and improving quality of work to great extent. Furthermore, I
involved sketches of dresses so that people who visit this webpage can know more about quality
and material that provided by company. Both these decisions have given me positive results and
have supported me in getting more IT projects in the future. My work was worthwhile and I
myself was very satisfied with my entire working performance. Though, due to poor negotiation
skill I faced many difficulties but my communication and convincing skills have supported me in
completing this project significantly.
