Introduction
This reflective report helps not only to identify but also evaluate the importance of my writing
skills and effective time management as well. I have been using Gibbs' reflective cycle
framework, which will be considered as one of the most important reflective theory. It helped me
understand the impacts of effective time management and improved writing skills as well. I
became aware of the requirements of these changes when I failed to submit some reports
according to the given quality standards and time frames. It made me realised that I need some
requirements to improve the quality of my writing skills and time management skills in myself.
This module helped to understand that effective academic writing should play an important role
in my further studies and professional life as well. With the help of self-analysis and Cottrell’s
time circle, which includes circle 1and circle 2, I came to understand that those areas where I
spend my extra timing. I spend important and long hours (more than 3 hours) in gaming,
socialising and travelling, which will consume a whole lot of time of my day itself.
The main reasons behind choosing this reflective framework are one of the most important
frameworks, including six important stages which helped to describe the experiences in a
reflection form effectively. It helps me encourage systemic thinking to explain the experiences.
The six stages of this Gibbs’ reflective framework help to maintain the quality of the reflective
experiences as well. It was very helpful to make and present the report in a more balanced,
precise and effective way. The whole experience of learning effective writing and improving
time management was nice and fruitful as well.

Reflection
I will use Gibbs’ reflective cycle framework, which includes six stages of reflection.
A few months back, I had to write some reports about some particulars topics. Those topics or
subjects were very well in my knowledge. I would say I was quite aware of the subjects and their
components. I started writing those reports, which helped me to find out some of the issues in my
writing skills and my time management as well (Kirillov, et al., 2015). I had several issues which
I dictated in my writing and plagiarism is one of the biggest issues it helped me to found out
there. I want to provide whole the description of how I came to understand about the issues I
was going through during my report writing as well (Waltz, 2019). The reports which I had to
prepare on, were having a time duration bounded, but in my first attempt, I was failed to submit
the reports. I think at. First, I was not ready to understand that these are mistakes from my end
because I was blaming different factors for both of these issues such as plagiarism and my
extremely bad time management as well. Later few of friends and family point me out about my
time management, but I denied what they said about my ineffective time management. A few
days back, I realised that we should discuss these, in the discussion, I came to understand that I
have to improve these things in myself which would be really required for my future studies as
well.
When we talk about academic skills, learning and writing without plagiarism and copy scapes
would be the first requirement so far. I realised I was failed both of these criteria of academic
skills as well. Time management is one more issue which created a lot of trouble for me because
everything is bound with a particular time limit, and I was failed to submit the projects under the
timeline provided. I don’t want to hide any of my initial and current feelings about it from
anyone because for improving anything. It is really required that one we understand and accept
the requirement of improving (Greifeneder and Bless 2017). Without realising this, no one can
learn or improve anything as well. Like everyone, I first denied about requirement any changes,
and in starting, even this discussion made me angry sometimes but later with the help of family
and friends, I came to understand that I need to improve these changes in myself as well. Now,
after improving at some level, I feel really happy about not quitting in starting (El Miedany,
2019).

The module was very helpful to me for improving these two things as well. It helped me on a
huge level when it comes to improve the time management, which I really need to improve, and I
would say the whole process was not really easy for me. The module helped me evaluate the
new techniques of analysing the time management of myself. It made me understand those areas
where I spend my time. Cottrell’s time circle was one of the most helpful things for me to
analysis my time management. It includes circle 1 and circle 2. Circle 1 helped me evaluate my
current time schedule (Nalabandian and Ireland, 2019). It made me understand easily about that I
spent a lot more time (more than 3 hours) on socialising and around one hour every day on
travel, which was sometimes unnecessary. It made me understand that if I want to improve my
time management, I have to remember that I have only 24 hours, and I should prioritise my
activities in order to meet my daily targets. I started making daily small targets for my day, and it
was not easy for sure in starting in me. The module helped me learn the techniques for improving
my writing skills because my writing skills were not accurate. I had to improve my language and
my understanding criteria as well. I did not pay any attention to structuring earlier, but the
module helped me learn the importance of good structuring as well. I started picking small topics
on an everyday basis for improving my writing, and at the end of the day, I analysed it through
the standards, it was the most effective technique for me.
I made a complete analysis after starting a few weeks when I adopted these changes in myself.
The analysis helped me understand that I should conduct a SWOT analysis of myself. The
SWOT helped me understand a brief knowledge about my own strengths, weakness,
opportunities and threats of mine. I came to understand that I have strong will power, the
moment I decided to adopt some changes in myself; I would be not really difficult for me to go
through the changes. My only had a problem with my focus where I understand that if I put the
focus on myself, I would easily overcome my issues related to structuring, plagiarism and
writing skills as well. I get distracted very easily by a few things which include my mobile
phones and other digital gadgets as well. My gaming habits also shifted my focus and played a
huge role in distraction, as well. It messed up my time management as well (Abdel-Basset, et. la.,
2018). I spent much time gaming with my friends. This analysis helped me understand that I
made an effective choice when it comes to made improvements in my writing skills. First few
weeks, I did not get any impressive results, but later I noticed some improvements in myself. I
noticed that my writing skills are getting better and the percentage of plagiarism is going down

by each passing day, which excited me to put more efforts as well. Dividing the tasks into small
goals for every day helped me a lot to improve my writing skills, focus issues and time
management so far. The whole experiences were tough and difficult, but it was fruitful as well
(Leicht, et al., 2019).
If I have to discuss the conclusion statement, I would excitedly say that I made some
improvements, but I understand these improvements are not enough for my future studies. For
further studies, it is really important that I am able to writing and presents my reports,
assignments and tasks which will be helpful for me in order to get good marks and better grades
as well. Time management skills will be helpful for not only my professional life but for also my
personal life as well. Time management will be helpful for my further upcoming exams, and it
will be helpful in scheduling my meetings for my professional life as well. It will make me easily
divide my tasks into small tasks according to the priority itself.
If a similar situation arose again in my life, my action plan would first identify the causes of the
problems as well because I already understand that I had issues with my writing skills which I
improved but in next time, it would be easily understandable as well. I would say after
identifying issues again. I will ask my friends and family to give me different tasks with some
standard of time and quality as well and then ask them to analyse my outcomes. It will be helpful
to me to improve faster with effective results as well (Deiorio et al., 2016). I would also take
help from different online platforms and mobile applications for improving my writing skills so
far.

Conclusion and future actions
The module was very helpful to me. It helped me identify the different components which are
going to make huge impacts on my writing skills and my time management skills as well. Both
of the things are quite important for my further studies in future and professional life so far. I had
a major understanding and plagiarism issues in my academic writing skills, which are going to
impact my whole approach whenever I tried to write something about any important and casual
issues as well. If these problems continued with my writing abilities, it would be very harmful to
my future so far. The calculation is simple. If I'm not able to understand improve my writing and
time management skills, it will be going to affect my marks and performance of my studies
which will be going to affect my professional life in future as well. I am lucky enough that I
came to understand the impact of these improvements and changes for my future studies or
professional life as well.
This module helped me perform a SWOT analysis of me, which was helpful to understand the
strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats as well. This analysis will be important in order to
identify and understand those areas which will require some improvements. I came to understand
my issues, which affected my focusing ability so drastically that I was unable to effectively
organise the time management for my studies and other things. I spend most of my time in
gaming, socialising and travelling, which will be a big distraction for me. It creates a lot of
problems in my focus as well. The module helped me understand that effective writing skills are
very important to me. It will be helpful for my future in order to effective writing will be helpful
to get better grades and get better jobs in my future professional life as well. It made me realise
the importance of time management. I have been using Gibbs’ reflection cycle framework, which
includes six different stages in it. These stages will be very effective in helping me when it
comes to represents my learning from this module as well. The Gibbs’ reflection cycle
framework includes stages such as description, feelings, evaluation, analysis, conclusion and
action plan as well. The whole experience was very helpful and exciting, so I would say that it
was nice and pleasant experiences as well.
I came to understand that these learning from this module will be very helpful in order to manage
my personal and professional life. It helped me prioritise my activities for a day and divide the
