On the basis of ownership, organisations are
segmented into following three segments as:
 Public sector organisation
 Private sector organisation
 Voluntary sector organisation

Public sector organisation
Characteristics and some essential details of public
sector organisations are as:
 Government interferences in business operations.
 Provides services as per public welfare and building
up their trust towards services provided by them.
 Helpful in contribution of country's development.
 Examples: Tesco, Sainsbury plc, Marks and Spencer
etc.

organisations in business operations.

its stores worldwide.
 Examples: John Lewis partnership, Iceland, Primark etc.

 Goal for accomplishing government projects effectively.
Vision:
 Public sector visualise to increase social welfare of the country.
 These entities set vision to increase revenue regarding nation's effectiveness.

Private sector organisation
Size and scope:
 It has largest scope and is in size in comparison to other sector organisations.
 Establishes new entities and stores in other countries globally.
Mission:
 Sets mission to increase revenue at highest as possible as it can.
 Targets to improve quality services and achieving customers' satisfaction on large scale.
Vision:
 Private sector sets vision to enhance productivity and profitability of entity at maximum level
 It views to increasing demand for product services at highest level.
