8. Issues associated to the steps
Technology always gives wide range of opportunities to the users but at the same time it holds
certain serious issues those are needed to be mitigated accordingly by the project team members
for mitigating the issues. The common challenges or issues those are facing by the company
while migrating from one platform to another are as follows:
Security challenge: Security is referred to as serious challenge that affects the cloud platform
migration. It has been found that, if proper security approaches are not undertake by the
company then during migration credentials may get hijacked by the external attackers. It is the
responsibility of the project manager and the project team members to take proper security
measures in terms of encryption and firewall so that none of the external attackers will be able to
access data from the storage server. With the firewall application the transmission channel will
keep security and none of the external attackers will be able to access data from the server. The
requirement of the cloud platform should be properly arranged by the project manager so that the
issues can be mitigated.
Issues with planning: It is necessary for the project manager to adopt all necessary steps to
avoid the planning level issues. It is the responsibility. It is the responsibility of the project
manager and the project team members to take necessary actions during the project planning
phase. The project team members should have necessary skills and ideas about the IT portfolio
so that the issues of project management can be easily managed. Modification in the architecture
of the cloud service is another important thing that has to be considered successfully for the
secured implementation of the platform.

Designing application issues: Before the implementation of the platform it is necessary for the
developers to create the application plan appropriately. It is the role of the project manager and
the project team members to take necessary steps so that the application can be designed
appropriately. Before migration to the AWS platform the designers must designed the
architecture in such a way so that it can avoid all major issues. Roper service level agreement
rather SLA level guidelines should be followed by the designers to mitigate the issues. It has
been found that, planning for the migration is the very important part of project management and
project development. Again of the project team members are found to be less skilled then in this
phase also serious level issues may arise.
Validation issues: The four major phases those are required to be managed and applied by the
project team members include initiation planning, design, implementation, testing, execution and
closure. It is the role of the project manager to apply proper verification and validation
approaches in terms of testing so that the project manager and the project team members can
come to known about whether the project migration will be error free will not.
Operational issue: If the project manager and the project team members working in Regional
Gardens Ltd fail to adopt necessary actions on the cloud service operation then the company and
the consumers will collectively face major issues. If somehow it is highlighted that the wrong
operations are implemented by the cloud platform then the entire project outcome will be a
failure.

automation support activities. The Regional Gardens Ltd runs a number of related gardening
enterprises. The company has a large number of display gardens those are open to the public
inspections. The enterprise includes the Regional Gardens Ltd nursery and sells a number of
plants. Regional Gardens Ltd has a data center that is used by the company for managing their
large set of data. However, the existing operational and functional activities follows by the
company is very weak. The server used by the company is not well structured. Thus in order to
manage the data centre of the company it is necessary for the company to migrate their platform
from the existing one to a specific cloud service providers. Many cloud vendors are available in
the market and based on the requirements and the functionalities of the company it has been
found that that the company should adopt the Amazon Web Server cloud vendor. The way
through which the cloud vendor will be selected, the benefits and challenges of the cloud service
providers are also elaborated in this report. For this particular project the Infrastructure as service
(IaaS) cloud architecture should be undertaken by the project manager for developing the project
successfully. The operational abilities that the company may gain from this application are also
elaborated successfully in this report. Apart from this, the risks associated to the hybrid cloud,
and steps to be followed for planning the information security are also elaborated in this report.
In addition to this, the steps those are to be followed for migrating from the existing system to
the AWS cloud platform are also illustrated in this report. Though platform migration is not an
easy step the issues associated to this phase are also those are also elaborated in this report.
After migrating to the AWS cloud platform the benefits that Regional Gardens Ltd may get are
also illustrated in this report.
