INTRODUCTION
It is important to involve old age people in their health related decision and their care
plan. This can be effective and can help to get better improvement in their health. There is also
need to take their consent and choice regarding exercise. For effective ageing, there is need to
provide better care and support to perform various activity. In this essay, there is discussion
about the importance of healthy ageing. There is also discussion about the Aged Care Quality
Standard which should be follow to delivery quality services to old age people. There is also
discussion about role of register nurse to ensure that practice is meeting with the Aged Care
Quality Standard specially standard 1 and standard 2 (Khaksar, 2017).

The key principle here includes people dignity and choice of standard is that every aged
people have the right to exercise their own decisions. Offering such choices to them prevents the
decrease of independence by reminding them about transitions to a new living surrounding. This
transitions does not mean that their decision making capabilities are being compromised. In
context with older people, it is quite important to communicate respectfully as well as
acknowledge their healthy living and also regards aged people's individuality in all the aspects of
care and services. The key principle involves in this is self-esteem and respect as older people
should be treated with dignity as well as respectfully that is important for their quality of life. A
care which is fully dignified and respectful can helps aged people to live their life the way they
want be live which means they should have the right to choose their own decisions and choice of

As a registered nurse, there is need to keep focus on the delivery of services care which
can help to improve the condition of older people. In this, it is essential to keep focus that there

while getting services. There is need to include patient within their choice of getting treatment
decision. There is also need to involve in various activity which are related with them. There is
also need to involved and provide respect to their views and choice. This can be effective and
can help older people to feel valuable and respected regarding their choice of health decision. In
this, there is also need to understand or identify the requirement and then fulfil effectively that
should not harm any individual physically or mentally (agan, 2019). As a registered nurse, there
is need to involve patient in their assessment and planning in their care plan. This can be
effective and allow to get better and effective improvement within patient. There is also need to
keep focus on the assessment process which should be effective and should not any risk of
neglect in delivery of services or care to the older patient. There is need to involve and get the
consent of adult patient regarding the health assessment and planing for health improvement and
related services. There is need to partnership with patient that can have high impact on the
delivery of better and effective care services and should ensure that there should not be any type
of problem which can includes neglect or other unethical processes (Dilig-Ruiz & et. al., 2018).

From the above discussion, it can be concluded that there is high need to take consent of
older people regarding their healthcare services and treatment along with care plan. There is also
need to follow the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission which can have different standard.
