I have come across an opening, recently in the emergency department for a nurse
position and I found it to be a good reason for me to write to you as I am interested. To begin,
as registered nurse, I have often treated cases and clinical conditions of the patients with

as well.

According to me, that I have learned from my experience that it is very important to
have fast and rapid decision making skills along with quick turnaround time, clarity in
conceptual and logical thinking, apt clinical reasoning and very broad spectrum critical
thinking skills in order to manage the emergency cases in the trauma informed care
departments effectively. Empathy is another very important skills that help the interpersonal
relationships to be built on a more profound and meaningful way. From my experience of
nursing in overseas, I have seen a global trend of caring for the families is a very critical
aspect of the nursing interventions and other medical treatments and assessments being
undertaken in the emergency and trauma care departments. Throughout my career till now, I
have exhibited proper and effective collaboration skills with the other nurses in the team, the
attending doctors, allied health care professionals including the physical therapists,

nutritionists, clinical psychologists and the others – in order to make the nursing care and
other care process being holistically provided to the patient – a more patient centred one.
4. Demonstrated ability to function effectively as a team leader and team member.
The level of threat posed to the patient’s life is at maximum in an emergency
department and it is actually very important, that I have always felt as a registered nurse, to
take ownership of your own action as well as guide the peers and the junior nurses with
compassionate and empowering approaches and this is where, I have exhibited my leadership
skills as a nurse. In this period of time, I have also got the opportunity to teach and empower
my peers and the trainee nurses through seminars and workshops as well. Currently, I am
trying to get a good nursing job in my own country where I have completed my studies and
that is why I have been applying for this job position. I have more than one foreign
languages, have excel and basic information technology skills to comply with the modern day
health information technology parameters.
5 Demonstrated effective communication written and verbal and interpersonal skills
In the emergency department, from my experience I have learned that the family
members are more depressed for their member is suffering from a life threatening acute
medical condition and this is where, I used and applied my counselling skills to full effect in
order to calm down the nerves of the family members and collaborated with them
imperatively, in order to take consents for the continuation of a certain medical or nursing
procedure.
