INTRODUCTION
The present research is based on the uses of the social media in the health and care
organisation by nurses. Furthermore, their roles and responsibility regarding their work within
the health and care also discussed in this report. The major objective of this report is to
understand the responsibility of registered nurse with regard to use social media.
MAIN BODY
In the health and care organisation, nurse plays a very crucial role in delivering the care
services and high level of treatment to patient through which they can improve their health issue
in more effective and efficient manner. In the regard of social media, it is great responsibility of
nurse to promote and advertise the effective treatment on the social media so as patient can gain
the effective knowledge about it. Medical attendants are welcome to utilize online networking in
their own lives (Bryce, Foley and Reeves, 2017). This may incorporate having a Facebook page,
a Twitter channel or blogging on different sites. Medical attendants can decidedly utilize
electronic media to share work environment encounters, especially those occasions that are
testing or sincerely charged, however it is basic also patients by name or give any data or subtle
elements that could distinguish them keeping in mind the end goal to secure patients' entitlement
to protection (Baker and Baker, 2009). With help of social media nurses can easily share their
working experiences value, their work and achievements on the various pages of the social
media such as Facebooks, Twiter, You Tube etc.
The major advantage of the use of social media by nurse in the health and social care is that they
can effectively share collect the idea and criteria to deliver effective services to patient at
workplace. In addition to this, nurse can also communicate with patient as well as family
member with help of several channels of the social media (Birks, Davis, Smithson and Cant,
2016). By use of the social media, Nurse can also acknowledge the information and knowledge
about the effective practices within the health and care organisation. On the YouTube channel,
Nurse can effectively upload the video of the treatment with patient (Brand, 2012).
The increasing use of social media and other electronic media is expanding at a great speed
giving platforms to individuals to expand their knowledge base (Acton, 2013). Nurses could risk
their registration if they act in an unprofessional or unlawful way as the very nature
of this medium can pose a risk to their professional lives. The various responsibilities of nurse in
regards to the use of social media includes :

Nurses are foster to use social media in a way to communicate with patients and family members
and educating them about the health care facilities.
Internet provides nurses with the feature of journalising and blogging about various health
related articles with their valuable perception (Fisher, 2017).
Thus , a registered nurse is not at all allowed to violate the confidentiality of any of her patient at
any cost by posting on social media. It is the prime responsibility of a nurse to keep her patients
detail confidential.
Any information related to patients learned at the time of treatment must be kept secret by the
nurse (Mitchell, and et.al., 2015).
Effective nurse and patient relationship is build on trust and loyalty which has to be safeguard by
the nurse (Nagle, et.al., 2017).
Patient at times hesitant to disclose any personal information. The nurse should make such
amendments so as to keep the interest of the general public safe and secure.
In the health and social care organisation, there is great responsibility of nurse to keep
confidential the information of patients on the social media. Nurse should keep secure and
confidential information about the services and treatment of the patient (Brown, Edwards, Seaton
and Buckley, 2017). It is another responsibility of nurse to provide the right information top
patient regarding treatment and care services. In addition to this, Nurse should keep update the
information about the current practices so as patient as well as management can get the right
information and make aware about it.
CONCLUSION
From this entire report it has been concluded that with help of social media nurse can
easily get the information about the effective working practices and treatment within the health
and care organisation.
