Introduction
Related learning can be referred to the teaching as well as learning opportunities that are
specifically designed in order to deal with the competencies of students that will help in
utilisation of several methods in several contingencies. Related learning can be basically referred
to as the activities or the assignments that foster a student to develop as well as enhance the
knowledge as well skills for career development. The report has focussed upon key
competencies, Progression activities as well as the career prospects of an individual (Doyon and
et.al., 2018).

STRENGTHS WEAKNESS
 I consider my communication skills as
my strength which is important in order
to convey my views to others.
 I possess teamwork skill which helps
me in working in accordance with the
other colleagues and making mutual
efforts in order to accomplish the team
goals and objectives.
 Leadership skills are also my strength
which allows me to lead a group of
individuals in order to get the work
done in an effective manner.
 The attentive skills help me in being
observant and observing several
situations.
 I have good presentation skills which
can be considered as my strength.
 My weakness is that I am not good at
following as compared to leadership.
 I lack skills while working as an
individual.

communication skills are not as per the

skills as I am not good at multi-tasking
in order to complete several tasks

 I can consider several things as
opportunities wherein there is a vacant
position in the related department of
any reputable organization.
 Another opportunity that can be
considered suitable for me is when the
organization offers relatable resources
in order to improve my time
management skills as well as
communication skills.
 Another good opportunity that can be
considered suitable for me is to receive
an increment in pay in the coming
quarter.
 Further opportunities for me as an
individual is that the organization offers
several training and development
programs in order to enhance skills for
career development opportunities in the
future.
 There are several situations that can be
considered as a threat for me
personally. One such threat is wherein
one of my peers or colleague is
interested in the same position of the
organization in which I am still
interested in.
 There can be a situation or contingency
wherein my performance might not be
as per the expectation. Hence, the
performance review of me as an
individual might not go well until and
unless they are not improved.
 Another threat for me as a person is that
the position or the job role might
demand a great deal of independent

work more effectively through better communication. Further time management skills are

CAREER PROSPECTS
The career prospect is referred to the probability or chance of future success in a
particular profession. Several training awards can improve the career prospects for the trainees as
well as apprentices.
To my knowledge, certain goals can prove helpful for several individuals like me to have
a good career prospect. There are career goals, financial goals, academic goals as well as health
goals that can prove helpful in having a career prospect. To have a better career prospect, I need
to bring several changes to enhance my productivity. Further, short-term goals can be enhanced
by keeping a clean and well-organized desk, and also it can be facilitated by having good
communication with peers and colleagues. Networking can prove beneficial for me to have a
professional specialization (Imran and et.al., 2020).
I believe that to enhance the long-term professional outlook, it is important to set
effective and efficient short-term goals. It is important to have control over the finances which
specifically involve incomes and expenditure. I can focus on decreasing my credit card debt and
further making some contribution towards savings by further depositing some amount in my
savings account which will be a definite proportion of my income sources. Further, I believe that
I can work on keeping a better track of my budget and further think upon ways to enhance my
knowledge of investment decisions for long-term benefits.
Another way that can be adopted to enhance my career prospects, I will require to focus
upon personal and professional enhancement in various contexts that will help me in having a
standpoint in the career along with several academic achievements that will help me in grabbing
the opportunities in the future that will further allow me to accomplish the long tenure goals in
the future. In order to have a better career prospect, I am planning to take up some relevant

courses that will help me in setting up smaller milestones which will help in keeping a track of
my progress in order to enhance long-term prospects in professional terms.
Also, I feel that it is very important for an individual to be healthy as well as energetic
and it can be considered as an important factor for the success of the individual. Hence, it is very
important for an individual to enhance their health and fitness. These enhancements in health can
be done by going to the gym on the regular basis, having appropriate sleep, and further
eliminating the intake of junk food or unhealthy food. This can be helpful for me in providing me
with immense energy as well as required confidence to accomplish the long-term goals.
In order to have a good career prospect, I believe these goals are required to be
accomplished. Further, as per my knowledge, I can focus upon the unskilled jobs which can be
considered under the basic bridge programs. Further, several semi-skilled jobs can also be opted
by me under the sectoral bridge programs. After the semi-skilled jobs, I can look upon for the
entry level skilled jobs with the help of short term certificate programs that can help me ad an
individual to enhance my career through several prospects. Further, I can focus upon the mid-
level skilled jobs which can be 1 to 2 years’ certificate and AA program. In order to obtain an
upper-level skilled job, I will have to opt for BA+ programs.
PROGRESSION OPPORTUNITIES
Progression activities are quite important in order to focus upon professional
development and it involves continuous growth. There are several progression opportunities that
can prove helpful for me in enhancing the progression. I believe that the first and foremost
activity that is essential is to have a proper and continuous education and for this purpose, it is
important to enroll in a formal degree course, workshops or programs. Also, I can think upon
pursuing the certificate course, credential as well as accredentials through several educational
programs.
Further, I can focus on my participation in several professional organizations. It can be
done by attending several local, regional, national as well as international meetings, workshops,
conferences that can be sponsored by professional organisations. Also, I can focus on the
presentation of papers at several workshops and conferences. Also, I can focus on serving as a
member of any committee as well as any board.

Another progression activity in my knowledge that can be focussed upon is research that
can be done by conducting research and further presenting the findings of the research to
different people who are concerned with the subject. Also, another way to have progression in
the activities is to improve the job performance. Job performance can be improved by keeping up
with the systems, technology as well as processes. Also, one can learn about the new
developments in the field and further skill improvement can also be done. To my knowledge,
there are few approaches to professional development such as skill-based training, job
assignments and developmental relationships.
Barriers for Progression Activities
There are several barriers that can be faced during the progression activities. There are
several barriers that have been observed by me and they have been discussed below.
 Lack of will- I believe that the most impacting barrier in progression activities is lack of
will. Strong will is very important in order to accomplish several goals as an individual
that can prove helpful in driving through the actions.
 Lack of career plan- In order to accomplish goals, it is very important to plan things. In
my knowledge, there are several people who lack in the aspect of career plan which is a
major barrier in the progression activities.
 Lack of mentors and coaches- I believe that mentors and coaches play a huge role in
progression activities. In case an individual lacks mentors there is a probability of a
barrier to occur in the progression activities (Yim and et.al., 2020).
 Lack of courage- I believe that there are some people who have fear of job loss and hence
they are self-centered. This means that they are not comfortable with others knowing
their skills so that they can not be replaced which is a barrier for progression.
 Lack of self-education- I believe that there are few people who stop learning after
completing their graduation which can act as a barrier in the progression of the
individual. I believe it is very important for people to focus upon self-education.
Conclusion
It can be concluded from the report that related learning plays a significant role for an
individual. The report has highlighted the concept of key competencies of the individual along
with the career prospects as well as progression activities. It can be stated that it is very

important for an individual to know their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities as well as threats
in order to identify the various career prospects. Also it is important to overcome the barriers in
progression activities in order to have an effective career development.
