I had a relationship before meeting my present boyfriend, which went on for a couple
of years. I was in a very serious relationship and I considered him to be my one and only but
gradually it turned out be the worst relationship, anyone could ever had. I badly wanted to
forget those days with him. I wanted to wash away all the feelings of being betrayed and
cheated on and therefore, I got into a relationship soon after and he is the one I am in a
relation with right now, or to say, forever. We got to know each other through a social
networking website. I neither ever accepted any random friend request nor even talked to any
unknown person over those sites, but I really don’t know what made me accepting his friend
request. He too was been cheated on before and was passing his days carrying on those
grudges and regret. It took us eight long months to move on and fall in love with each other.
During these phase of eight months, I tried hard to wash away the memories of my ex, to un-
love him with all my heart because I wanted to be serious with the one I am with. After
falling for this boy, I understand what love actually feels and what a good relationship is in
true terms. I understood that only meeting up with your partner after each passing day and
talking over phones for hours is not love. Love is something that motivates you, that makes
you feel safe, that helps you to grow, that makes you feel good even in the absence of your
partner because you know where ever he is he is there for you always and in any
circumstances (Bauman). Truly speaking, we do not meet often and this is the only
disadvantage of our relationship. This is because though we remain in contact with each
other, all day long; whenever we meet we fail to communicate as other couples. I blush a lot
and sometimes, I turn red I face. When it comes to maintaining an eye contact, I have to put a
lot of pressure on myself (Rowsell and Coplan). I think this is only due to the meetings that
we rarely do. My friends use to say that what is the meaning of such relation where you
people don’t spend time together? This sometimes makes me sad and I feel like meeting him
at once. The same is the greatest advantage of our relationship because it is giving us ample

of scope to do the things and to make each other feel special whenever we meet. I believe this
because we are in a relationship from the past fifteen months and still, whenever we meet, we
feel like it is our first meeting and both of us blush like a new couple. The charm in our
relationship is still there, which makes our meeting really exciting and memorable (Tackett,
Nelson and Busby). However, I trust him enough to let him leave his life in his own way and
so do him. But, it is to be noted that the communication between us is way more than the
other couples, as though we cannot plan a meeting with each other because of our busy
schedule, we are always in contact with each other. Both of us can answer what the other
person is doing if we are asked the same at any part of the day. To me, he is an idol of
loyalty. However, to carry on with the worst time that we have ever shared was when my
mobile phone was undergoing some serious technical issue and I had to keep it to the service
centre for three consecutive days. I was dying to talk to him. But unfortunately, I it was
impossible for me to do so. At night time, I used to log in to my social networking site from
my mother’s mobile just to have a talk with him for few minutes. Those days were the worst.
The very moment when my phone was just turned on in the service centre, it was his call that
I received the very first and man sitting over there look at me and turned my phone round to
make me receive my call. My mother and the man were staring at me and I was blushing like
anything. He then messaged me and said that he loves me. It was the very first day when I
realized that we both love each other. The day was the happiest and the most memorable day
in our lives (Benjamin). Like any other couple, we too sometimes get involved in conflict.
There was a time when we I misunderstood his words over a phone call. That day we had
planned to meet up and I was waiting for hours but he didn’t come. My phone was dead due
to low battery and I could not even move from there in a thought that he would be searching
for me later. Finally, after two hours, he arrived. I was very disappointed and angry. I hate
waiting for people and there, I had waited for two long hours. I shouted at him. Later I

understood that it was my fault. The conflict was resolved quickly because in spite of
shouting back at me, he coolly handled the situation and made me understood what he has
told to me over phone. He even said sorry. However, my boyfriend uses to admire his mother
a lot and there is indeed a strong reason behind that and that is what makes him respect him
and his family even more. His mother has struggled a lot in her life right from her early
childhood days to the years after her marriage and still, after going through such situation she
still possess the power to forgive people. His mother is his idol and his biggest fear is that he
will have to live his life without his mom.
