Methodology
The methodology that was used for the study took into consideration both the qualitative
and quantitative data that were intrinsically related to the subject matter. The relaxation
sanctuary was the significant subject matter of the study. The methodology extensively focused
on the synthesis of both qualitative and quantitative methods to bring forward a clear picture of
the prospects of the relaxation sanctuary within the Singapore zoo. The study has relied on both
primary and secondary data to put forward an effective analysis of all the significant factors that
can guide the proposition of the Relaxation sanctuary (McCusker & Gunaydin, 2015). In order to
facilitate the essential analysis of the subject matter the survey and statistics related to the zoo in
Singapore were analyzed and evaluated accordingly. In order to facilitate the effectiveness of the
research the study has considered a significant amount of data. This was important for the overall
effective presentation of the study (Walliman, 2017). The study had taken into consideration data
like the map of the Singapore zoo, the survey data represented in the chart format and the
statistics of the Singapore zoo for the year 2018. It is important to consider all these data as they
have provided an essential insight into the otherwise very unusual research topic.
The survey tool was used to gather essential primary data. However, secondary data was
also given importance for the analysis and subsequent presentation of the data. Firstly, the
Singapore zoo map was used to get a relevant idea in regards to the positioning of the relaxation
sanctuary. Secondly, in order to further understand the prospects of the relaxation sanctuary
people were asked hypothetical questions in regards to how much they would like certain aspects
of the services that would be provided. Moreover, their views on the feasibility and costs
associated with the services were also known through the survey questionnaires. Thirdly, to
improve upon the findings that were generated from the analysis of the study statistical data was

used. The various types of data were used to apply a wholesome approach to the research
process.
The respondents were asked what the acceptable price range would be for the spending
on the relaxation services. About 90% of the respondents answered that 30 to 45 Singapore
dollars would be a good amount. 10% of the respondents said that 45 to 60 SGD was a good
range for the price. The respondents in the research process were also asked what kind of
massage they would prefer in the relaxation sanctuary. The highest number of respondents
wanted leg massage services to be provided within the sanctuary. This was about 66.7 per cent of
the total number of respondents. Moving forward respondents were asked, with whom they
would like to come and enjoy in the relaxation sanctuary. It was found that 66.7 % people
preferred to come with their families. However, about 20% answered that they would like to
come with their spouse. The respondents were asked why they actually chose Singapore Zoo to
visit. About 70 % of the respondents said that it was suggested by their family and friends. The
respondents were then asked about any kind of resting facilities that they would prefer in the
Relaxation facility. The highest number of respondents, approximately 53%, wanted to have a
massage parlor. About 46.7 % of the respondents preferred to have napping pods. Among the
respondents of the survey there were 60% females and 40% males. About 40% of the
respondents said that they were very likely to avail the facilities of the relaxation sanctuary if
made available. Through the data it was known that the largest nationality that was reported
among the respondents were Chinese. The Chinese respondents were around 36% in number.
However, there were a large number of different nationalities that were represented in the survey
population. There were German, Indian, Nepalese, Indonesian, Phillippine, Russian, Vietnamese
and many other nationals. It was asked to the respondents that on an average basis how much

they spend at the zoo. It was found that around 66.7% of the respondents agreed that they spend
around 3 hours at the zoo. Around 23.3% of the respondents agreed that they spend between 2 to
3 hours in the zoo. The respondents were asked about the resting places in the zoo. In reply
around 43.3% of the respondents said that there were 2 places that were available. The age group
of the respondents were interesting to see. The age group to a great extent determined the
responses that were provided. The largest age group was from 35 to 44 years old which was
around 40% of the respondents. The next largest age group was between 25 and 34 years of age,
making up around 30% of the population of the respondents. There were significant presence of
18 to 24 year olds. The questions that were asked to the respondents were integral part of the
methodology as they were formed in essence to bring out the best possible results from the study.
The demographic statistics were very important in the study. This is because the best kind
of people needed to be asked the significant questions in order to form essential implications
from the study. As was found from above, a large number of the respondents or the majority
were female. Hence, it could be known that there is a growing popularity of resort and available
services among women. Also, as mentioned above 40% of the respondents were between the age
group of 35 and 44 years of age. This reveals that the people of this age group are especially
interested to visit services such as the relaxation sanctuary. A large number of foreign nationals
were found to be interested in the zoo. This means that Singapore is a very important destination
for a large number of foreign nationals. Moreover, more international customers are likely to
visit the sanctuary if it is built. It is important to consider the demographics. The demographics
were chosen to understand how much foreign nationals were interested in the prospects for the
development of newer facilities in the Singapore zoo.

Limitations
Limitations of a research are the shortcomings of the methodological processes.
Limitations to the research are the constraints that affected the research in terms of resources,
time or other factors. Limitations of researches often cause research works to be incomplete or
not achieving the level of effectiveness that the researchers would have liked (Greener, 2018).
The limitations of the study arise from the fact that there were no interviews that were taken.
There was also a significantly lower number of previous researches on the subject matter that
were consulted before carrying out the research work. The study employs both the quantitative
and qualitative data for the research. However, there were significant gaps in the data that were
available. The exotic nature of the study contributed to the lack of referable works available for
the essential analysis of the subject matter. Hence, it can be said that somewhere the deeper
analysis of the subject became very difficult. The sample size that was taken in the research was
a significant limitation. A larger sample size could have ensured the better analysis and
evaluation of the subject matter. Moreover, as pointed from the above analysis of the
methodology, a large number of respondents were from outside Singapore. This caused a
significant limitation as the views of the native Singaporeans were not essentially found. The
data collection process was slower due to the different people that had to be approached for the
research. The lack of interview process made it difficult to gather and essentially evaluate the
views of the zoo authority in regards to the prospects of the relaxation sanctuary (Flick, 2018).
An important limitation is the statistics that have been provided which at times have made the
research process lengthy. A large number of data has been essentially analyzed. This has made
the process of the evaluation of the subject matter greatly difficult. It is important to understand
that limitations that arise from the analysis process often contribute towards the difficulties of the

readers in terms of understanding the work. The work was limited in its scope in regards to
finding how much environmental impact could be created as a result of the relaxation sanctuary.
The kind of awareness that can be created through the sanctuary in regards to the environment of
the area was also an area that was not very significantly analyzed. In all the work was effective
but there are significant gap areas that need to be addressed through future researches.
