Martin.
Introduction
Religious discrimination at workplace is treating an individual or group of individual differently or unfairly
because of the specific beliefs which they hold about a religion. This is a type of discrimination that occurs at
workplace due to the religion of an employee (Abraham, 2017). This report is based on manufacturing
industry that is engage in transportation of materials, goods or substances into innovative products. Aston
Martin is a chosen manufacture of grand tourers and luxury sports cars that was founded by David Brown in
1947. Along with this, religious based discrimination has direct effects over manufacturing industry. This
discrimination increase communication gap and language issue among employees that resulted in lack of
productivity and performance. One main communication issue stemming from religion is lack of knowledge
or information among an individual employee regarding other religions and belief systems. This issue have

Literature Review
Literature review refers to the systematic and well-organized process of collecting information from the
secondary sources i.e. magazines, articles, books, publication study, journals etc. These are useful sources
within an investigation because they provide secondary and detailed information regarding the topic. Main
purpose of literature review is to find-out gaps in previous investigation. Main gap of this research is the
effect of religious discrimination (Beckford, 2019). In previous research there is data about the impact of
religious based discrimination but there is lack of information regarding the effect on religious discrimination
over growth of manufacturing industry. In order to fulfil this literature review gap, sub-questions of research
will be applied because this will be useful. This will also helps researcher in accomplishment of research aim
and objectives systematically. Sub-questions of this research will be described as below:
Explain about the meaning of religious based discrimination in context of an organisation?
According to the Grimsley (2020), religious discrimination at workplace is against the law. It means treating a
person unfavourably or adversely because of their religious beliefs. This discrimination in the workplace can
take many forms. If an employee can be denied work or a promotion, under pressure at work, or deprived of
an atmospheres at work because of their religious practices or beliefs, or because of their lack of some
religious beliefs an individual may have resources. In addition, religious discrimination in the workplace is
treating employees differently within their employment due to their religions and religious practices or
beliefs. The law protects not only employee who belong to usual organized religions like Christian, Jewish
Muslim, or other faiths, but entire workforce who have truthfully held religious, ethical, or moral beliefs. If
you have been rejected for employment, fired, harassed or otherwise harmed in their employment due to its
religion, its religious beliefs and practices, and/or their request for accommodation of their religious beliefs as
well as practices, employee may have suffered illegal religious discrimination at workplace.
How religious discrimination negatively effects at the workplace of an organisation?
According to the Rush (2018), Religious bias or discrimination at working place isn’t just unfair; it’s
additionally unlawful. Allowing religious discrimination to take place within a professional atmosphere can
reason big problems for employers, since workers might turn out to be resentful or file a claim if they believe
unfairness. There are number of negative effects of religious based discrimination in the workplace of an
enterprise. These effects are confusion of terms; fairness is the law, lowering moral, reduced productivity,
decreased high employee turnover etc. All these are considering major negative effects of religious based
discrimination in the working place of company. For example: Religious discrimination in the place of work

has the extra drawback of lowering confidence. Jokes in relation to employees' clothing or behaviours related
to their religion and religious beliefs can cause embarrassment as well as unhappiness. Employees who
experience religious discrimination at workplace are more probable to search for a other job, resulting in
higher turnover as well as lost productivity.
What are the main effects of religious discrimination in improving growth of manufacturing industry?
According to the Fullin, (2016), religious discrimination has negative and unfavourable effect on growth of
manufacturing industry. This discrimination at workplace creates issues in communication that turn to effect
over sales of manufacturing industry. For example: lack of communication among workforce or labours due
to their religion develop conflict that resulted in poor performance and reduced productivity. This turn to
effect on manufacturing industry while manufacturing of products and producing that products to the
customers. This will also effect on industry by reducing employee’s trust and loyalty towards the brand.
Therefore, religious discrimination is not good for the growth and success of industry, organisation or an
individual. Along with this, religious discrimination puts employees and employers at an enormous legal
difficulty as they might face lawsuits, investigations and many other penalties that output in lost productivity
and money. This turn to impact on manufacturing industry by reducing their sales and market ratio speedily.
What are the effective ways that may be use by Aston Martin for eliminating the issue of religious based
discrimination at workplace?
According to the Renee and Myers (2020), religious discrimination has negative impact over business as employee’s
performance. At workplace of Aston Martin, there is requirement of eliminating the issue of religious based
discrimination. There are some ways that would be used by company for preventing discrimination in the workplace.
These are: understand what consuetude’s religious discrimination, develop good hiring policies, train employees, train
managers and supervisors, and establish a zero tolerance policy against religious discrimination and harassment. These
are effective and useful ways for eliminating the issue of religious based discrimination at workplace. There is also
requirement of following equality act 2010 and Civil Rights Act of 1964. Both acts are useful for Aston Martin to use
and protect their employees from religious type of discrimination effectively. This will support company in
improvement of its growth, increasing of sales, reducing high employee turnover and improving strong brand image in
marketplace.

Research approach or Methodology
Research methodology and approach are important part of research because it will be useful in collecting of
information about the current study. There are number of methods that will be used within a current research
project. These approaches and methods has been explained as below:
Research Philosophy: This section has two parts which are positivism and interpretivisim. Both are effective
types of research philosophy but for collecting, analysing and finding quantitative information, positivism
philosophy has been taken within study (Padela and et. al., 2016). As compare to interpretivisim philosophy,
positivism type is more essential because it provide valid outcomes.
Research Approach: There are basically two forms of approaches are known as deductive and inductive.
Research approaches are useful in collecting and analysing of information regarding the topic. In order to
gather information, approaches will be classified into two parts which are qualitative and quantitative.
Whereas for analysing information, research approach has two sections which are inductive and deductive.
For collecting and analysis data about the religious discrimination and its effect on manufacturing industry,
quantitative and deductive approach has been followed (Scheitle and Corcoran, 2018). Main research for
using these approaches because this will support in collecting and analysing of quantitative and numerical
data within lesser time period. On the other hand, qualitative and inductive approach are not used within an
investigation because it take more time and also consume more sources while collection of qualitative data.
Data collection: This is an effective and systematic process of collecting data from the secondary sources
and primary sources. Within an investigation, questionnaire has been followed as a primary source for
collecting reliable and quantitative data. In case of secondary data, various sources have been applied in
literature review section because this section is based on secondary information. These sources are magazines,
books, articles, publication research etc. Therefore, for doing current study both sources of data collection
will be followed for achieving valid outcomes (Scheitle and Ecklund, 2017).
Research instruments: There are number of research instruments that are suitable in collecting of primary
information. Name of these instruments are questionnaire, interview, focus group, modelling, observation and
so on. All these are effective but for collecting primary data about the effect of religious based discrimination
on manufacturing industry, questionnaire will be applied. This instrument is more useful within a study
because it not take more time and also provides quantitative information easily (Turco and Maggioni, 2018).
Time Horizon: This is another useful; and valuable part of the research methodology that has two sections
which are called cross-sectional and longitudinal approach. Within a current research proposal, cross-
sectional time horizon will be followed because it is based on current situation and also not take more time in

Ethical issues
Ethics are generally the set of rules, unwritten and written, that govern expectations of research in collecting
of data from the respondents. Ethics within an investigation are important because these supports the values
needed for collaborative work, such as fairness and mutual respect. This is significant because research
depends on cooperation between researchers and respondents. There are certain numbers of research ethics
principles that will be followed within a study (Wilkins‐Laflamme, 2018). These principles are providing the
right to withdraw, avoiding deceptive practices, protecting confidentiality, defending anonymity, obtaining
informed consent, reducing the risk of harm etc. These are considering main principles that will be followed
by investigator because this has been supported them in completing of full project effectively and ethically.
There are various codes of ethics that will be applied within a study such as objectivity, carefulness, openness,
respect for intellectual property, confidentiality, responsible publication, legality, human subjects’ protection,
honesty and integrity.
Expected Outcomes
This research proposal is based on the effect of religious based discrimination on manufacturing industry. By
doing this research I observed that religious discrimination has negative impact on an individual personal
development as well as organisation performance. I also identified different number of ways that helped in
preventing and eliminating the issue of religious discrimination in the workplace. Therefore, religious
discrimination has negative impact on my career development and growth at workplace (Scheitle and
Corcoran, 2018). This will also impact on mine in my future success and progress within manufacturing
industry. Along with this, I also determined which factors have higher impact in creating religious
discrimination in the working environment of Aston Martin. With the help of this research, I obtained better
outcomes that are expected previously.
