PART 2: PROJECT SCOPE STATEMENT

Date: 15th December 2017
Project overview and justification
RDC is a system that enable consumer to scan remotely checks and transmit it images to
the bank for various functions through an encrypted internet connection. After receiving the
check image, banks deposit money to customer accounts. Thus, new technological advancement
through RDC will help Blue Bank in achieving strategic goals by increasing visibility to existing
and prospective clients. The project expected to take half-year (6 months) in completion at an
initial cost of $500,000 and annual operating costs will be $150,000 every year.

2. Developing a strategy for scope verification & change control
Scope verification: It is a process of conveying important changes to the scope and key
deliverables to the sponsor or steering committee members for acceptance (Stoshikj, Kryvinska
and Strauss, 2014). Project Manager will be in-charge officer for the process.
Strategy for RDC project
 Presenting draft proposal of necessary amendments to the key stakeholders
 All the changes would be subject to the key concerns and stakeholders requirements
 Inform possible benefits of the proposed alteration in the scope
 Obtain approval from the change implementation authority by relieving formal signature
of Dorain, sponsor
 After getting acceptance, its copy must be communicate to the project team to update
them
Change control: A request for change (RFC) will be design and presented to the steering
committee with the prospective changes and its impact on the project success. After approval, it
will be communicate to the team members to take actions and work accordingly.
PART 3: PROJECT TIME MANAGEMENT
1. Identify eight milestones for the project
 Concept approval within 15 days after feasibility study
 Review requirements and approval from the board
 Preliminary design review: Checking the architectural design requirements and get its
approval
 Test plan review: Performing test case and test procedure
 Test readiness review: Integration of the printers, hardware, software and other key
components to perform integration testing
 Operational readiness review: Performing acceptance testing for the final functioning
 RDC implementation: Complete execution phase to implement RDC within set time
schedule
 Successful launch: Execute marketing strategy to aware consumers about RDC system
2. Strategies for making up lost time and avoiding schedule slips in future
RDC project progress report showed behind the schedule results that can be improve
through following strategic actions, presented below

Renegotiating schedule: Discussion with the Daroin helps in finding out that possibility
of reducing scope activities or increasing the duration, which facilitate team to dedicate
maximum time on the necessary activities to meet deadline (Brown and Hyer, 2010).
Multi-tasking: BY allocating people on multiple tasks for set time helps in completing
more than one activity at a given point of time and obtain progressive results.
Increase dedicated time: Team-working practices and motivated workforce helps in
receiving favorable response to dedicate more time on the project to complete it within set
schedule (Cusworth and Franks, 2013).
Allocating more resources: More people needs to assign on time-consuming and
complex tasks, that help to finish it by scheduled date. Here, it must be notice that actual costs do
not exceed the budgetary limit.
