1BIRTH OF VENUS
The birth of Venus is a painting by Sandro Botticelli and a very important renaissance art. This
painting was published during the mid of 1480s. This particular painting of the Birth of Venus is
an exceptional example of rainy so painting that depicts the Goddess Venus arrived at the Shore
of an ocean after her birth. She has a shell under her that keeps het floating in the sea. Venus, the
most beautiful goddess according to mythology to truly depicted here. This particular painting
can be found in Florence Italy and marked by one of the greatest mythological painting of that
era. It is one of the most famous paintings of the painter and icons of The Renaissance in Italy.
The subject as depicted in this painting is Classical mythology that had a great influence in the
painting of Renaissance era. I have seen this painting from the point of view of the subject are
the focus figure of Venice that has a prominence of nude female figure in the birth. The art
historians I have found, agree that this painting does not require complicated analysis to decode
the meaning because the painter has named it in that way. It is treated as a traditional seen from
Greek mythology.

Unlike other paintings from the same era, this particular painting can also be seen to have similar
factors like use of techniques and colour. I have found that the painting is large which is referring
two panel painting referring support of Canvas. The usual technique of renaissance art have been
found like the lack of green first layer under the flash areas. The style of posing of the central
character borrows the position from Greek or Roman sculptures. The curved body with long
flowing lines refers to the gothic art. I have found the body of Venice anatomically improbable
with long neck and torso. The position in which she is standing can only be imagine for god or
goddess. Her weight is shifted over her left leg and the proportion of the winds taking her hair to
flow on the left.

3BIRTH OF VENUS
In this painting the colours are realistic but not the proportions of the figures. None of the figures
in this painting cast Shadows which depicts that it is the world of imagination then a reality. The
subject of giving birth of a full grown woman has attracted me because in this painting I have
found a man and a woman embracing one another posing to be the source of this birth. The
Spiritual beauty in the smile of Venus replacing the rational thought process has attracted me.
The emotions are clearly found of every character present in this incident. As this painting has
captured the birth incident of Venice therefore has captured traditional iconography marking the
appropriate Behaviour for the bride and groom that is the father and mother of Venus. I have
found this painting interesting because of its choice of subject and the imaginary situation. From
one side Venus is born out of wind and on the other a woman is trying to cover her body. I have
found the naked women figures here because there are presence of three women body and two of
which are completely naked. Another woman another woman is fully covered with clothes
representing the earthly manners and Customs. This painting has a spiritual connotation to share
among the Weavers but the fine use of colour and technique with floating clothes and emotion in
the eyes and face of the central character are exceptional. Therefore it can be concluded that this
picture from Renaissance era has been one of the most important mythical painting that captures
every feature of Renaissance painting.
