INTRODUCTION
The concept of global citizenship is having the question about prevailing discourse about
identities such as national identity. This question is merely connected to national identity and
moreover question of national identity is related to global citizenship. In today's worlds people are
still sharing their common values. The concept of national identity refers to the entire human race as
opposed to negativity opposed towards other known as personal identity of national identity.
Citizens still in the global world share there values and identity. There is the important note that has
to kept in mind of every single individuality that there is need of overall global development not the
personal development.
Structure
The replacement of national identity with global citizenship is the important topic that is
treating as burning issue in global worlds. So to better have understanding of the replacement of
global identity and more things , the proper knowledge about global citizenship and national
identity must be there.
The word global citizenship clearly with name refers to idea of having all rights and civic
responsibilities as being the member of world and philosophy of whole world along with
sensibilities rather than being the citizen of single world(Panebianco, 2016.). The consciousness of
global community putting all the transcendence of national barriers without negating importance of
state and domestic society. The first time the term global citizenship has been discovered among
the Greek with term of 'cosmopolitan' which means citizen in 4 Th century BCE. There are many
important aspect that a term or a ideology is availing within. There were many important transaction
has to be considered in development of global citizenship(Delgado-Moreira, 2018.). In term of
global citizenship discard the ideology of of being others and introduce the deep positivity of
union ship. With development of global identity or citizenship works as the curial step in
development of worlds problems towards it solution such as national conflict and poverty. There is
main reason in development of the concept with dual distinction of being ''developed'', ''first nation''
and ''underdeveloped'', ''third nation''.
On the other hand, national identity refers to identity of a person or an individual in the
sense of belongingness of being being born or belong to a particular stater or country. There is
extreme relationship of acceptability is chauvinist which make them belief that there country is

superiors an d they have extreme loyalty towards there country. The person having national identity
have there own trust and understanding about development of country believing it as there own
assets want to protect it foe the longer term of time. National identity is having the power of
discourse because they were mobilised through the symbolic political relationship for there
existence(Gergen, 2017). It is important to have the national identity as it gives cultural and values
importance to country. Culture is somewhat a shared sense of having different custom, language,
belief and behaviours and this gives a cultural identity of national identity. It is important to have a
simple identity between two people to have strong relationship and development of an individual. It
is important to have national identity as identity is closely related to self esteem as to have the
strong sense of identification requires a good mental health and if you have strong identification you
surely work as the good mentality.
Concept development.
After the understanding the basic concept and idea of global citizenship and national
identity, there should better understanding between there relationship, there impact of each other
and the whole world(Colgan and Keohane, 2017).. There are major impact of the youngster
prevailing in different countries who are very much enthusiastic about the development of the
global citizenship all around the world. There were demand of been a part of educational curriculum
to develop global citizenship concept in upcoming generation. There are various pros and cons in
the development of global citizenship in the world-
As there is development in student from the beginning of there curriculum as it make them a
good learner, a confident individual along with responsible citizen and effective contributor.
The development of global citizenship skills in the youngsters make them have the cultivation of
listening and respecting each other opinions and culture. They will be more aware of the
development taken all around the world and have power of making informed and understand choice
as there future lies in their own hand.
A person who is globally developed became more aware as they are interconnected in
many ways locally, nationally and sometimes internationally and develop the regard of respect
towards others. It will also help in reduction of several serious issues such as human rights,
religious pluralism and rule of law.
For resolving the conflicts there should be the understanding of global acceptability. If there
is more difference between the attitude of people, there would be more conflict between them. So to

cross that bridges of difference there should be idea development of “world-mindedness” so that
proper negotiation can be done between parties respecting each other.
Another contribution of global citizenship is in protecting the human right of citizens as
international code clearly defines human right in between social contract between global citizens.
there should be protection of human right of every citizen as every person has entered into social
contract so they have to respect each other values and culture and the have to stand against violating
rights of other people. So with help of global citizenship there must be protection of rights of
human citizenship.
Participation in global economy- it is not just about global citizenship relationship gives
responsibility but it also provides opportunities to the various people to access the world. Through
the participation In global economy, there is limitless excess to the potential energy with mutually
exchange benefits. If the the concept of global citizenship is not developed there must be more of
cultural tension with gives increase of excess exploitative business functions,. So everyone should
take advantage of economically viable opportunities.
Responsible global development approach- in the book''The ‘Third World’ Is Not Your
Classroom'', author Courtney martin ha analysed the relationship in development of global project
has been benefited by developed national at the cost of local from developing ones. In simple
words it is to be understand the development of some developed nation are still on cost of
developing countries. So there must be clear envelopment of deviation nation in making developed
countries.
So there are must some negative side also for development of global citizenship-
as there were not many disadvantage in the development of the global citizenship as there may be
many dissimilarity in allocation of resource and the limit and boundaries of the different countries.
There the global citizenship is not based on different boundaries and development it depends to the
beliefs of being human.
The national identity helps in improve the social diversity as the birth citizenship or in other
terms the professional diversity and national identity will help in having the benefits if
development of individual in particular country. The person have the guarantee in legal rights and
have all the benefit of the country citizenship(Colgan and Keohane, 2017).
With the development of national identity it reduces the need of social service . These right help the
individual from getting any security or right that they are prevailing in any corner of the country.

With the help of legal national identity it prevent the each and every citizen from biasses of legal
system and nay type of discrimination from any people that are working in prevailing market of
company. The people who belong to local society an other local communities get the excess of
equal right as they upper society is being developed.
It provides a standardisation of identity in the global world as they are identified by the
name of there country , culture, ethnicity and authenticity. But after having so much in benign in
there hand there are many moor of disadvantage in the development of national identity-
The national identity only provides legal immigration as the person cannot enter any other
country if he belong to restricted country citizenship. The citizenship and national identity will
create the feeling if inferiority among the people whose country are not renowned as other country.
The development of national identity will some how lead to the demotivation in some people whose
country is involved any unfair or terrorist activity.
Relevance and Agrumentaion
Many of the activist says that there is no concept as the global citizenship as they says to
perform first good to your country then move foe the development of global country. A recent
survey by BBC polls out that there is more rise in the development of of global citizenship. After
discussion of so much of pros and cons of both national identity and global citizenship, there is still
in rise people who are having acceptability of being global citizenship' in the whole world. As the
survey stages that there is more acceptability of the global citizenship in emerging economies after
the survey on 20000 respondents from various 18 countries who are having the clear cut optimistic
approach of development of planet wide citizenship. The results were discussed as below-

understand the development of some developed nation are still on cost of developing countries. So

In the figures of Germany has taken 1 million refugees last year a it was outstripping
response by neighbours to have the open door policy . This was one of bold decision taken by

So all over from the above discussion it was clearly identified that there is the importance of
national identify as well as the global citizenship acceptance in the global economy for the
sustainable development .the other words it ca be said that is the requirement of the national identity
but is not everything for the sustainable development in economy. As the legionnaire baseness have
appeared in the weaker role than national identity in maximum of countries that has too be
surveyed. As it can be said that there id no need of replacement of national identity with global
citizenship as the global citizenship is not another thing or part but it similarly the extension of
national identity. The national identity is narrow concept whereas the global citizenship is border
concept which helps in making the world closure to each and every aspect of world. With the
acceptability of global concept , there should be development of national identity which makes a
sense if connection of responsibility.
