INTRODUCTION
Communication barrier are defined as all such hurdles that reduces effectiveness of
communication. This report is based on the case study of communication barriers associated
with children’s. Henceforth, this report emphasis on different communication barrier
associated with children’s. All the required skills in order to overcome the barrier will also
present. Suitable resources will also analyse in order to overcome barriers.
MAIN BODY
Communication barriers in children’s
People face plenty of barriers at the time making any communication with any
children. Due to childhood following barriers becomes a part of communication process of
children’s.
Lack of understanding: Lack of understanding is among the major barriers associated with
the child’s communication with any individual. Communication process immensely depends
upon the understanding level of all the individuals involved in the communication process
(Bateman and Robinson, 2019). Due to lack of understanding children’s many times not able
to understand the meaning of sentences and thoughts involved in the communication.
Children’s are very immature due to young age which restricts them to understand the
communication process properly.
Lack of interest: Children’s also face lack of interest for making proper communication. In
order to work with children’s most of the times lack of interest is associated in case of
making communication with old age peoples in the society. Children’s get easily connect
with other people similar to the age group of children’s due to share the similar level of
understanding. In case of older people children’s face the issue of lack of interest that create
huge hurdle in making effective communication.
Physical barrier: Children’s also face physical barriers in order to make effective
communication. Physical barriers involve hearing problems and other disabilities. Due to
small age many times children’s not get able to speak properly that also misleads the other
person inviolve in communication. In small age many times children’s face problems like
stammering which also restricts the effectiveness of the communication in childhood.

Perception differences: Perception barriers are also among the key barriers children’s face
in order to make effective communication. In young age children’s carry the different
perception as compare to adults and other age group peoples in society (Fazel and
Betancourt, 2018). Due to different perceptions of children’s other people in society face
issues while making communication with children’s.
Lack of active listening: Lack of active listening skills is also among the key barrier
children’s face in order to make effective communication. Active listening is among the key
factor work behind effective communication. Childhood is the growing age which drives
growth of both physical development and mental development. Most of the time children’s
do not listen properly which create hurdle for the other people to make an effective
communication with children’s.
All the above barriers are considered as the key hurdles people face in order to make
an effective communication with children’s.
Skills for effective communication
Skills play crucial role in making an effective communication. All the key skills
required to make an effective communication can be summarised in the following ways.
Active listening skills: Active listening skill play crucial role in making an effective
communication. In order to deal with lack of understanding, lack of active listening and
perception differences of children’s this can be an effective tool. By improving the active
listening skills communication can make effective in respect to children’s.
Interaction skills: Interaction skills play an effective role in the communication. Efficiency
of communication largely depends upon how well person interact with the other individual
involve in the communication (Gobrial, McAnelly and Shannon, 2019). By improving
interaction skill in children’s issue like lack of interest can be addressed. Interaction skill will
motivate children’s to take interest in communicating with any individuals in the society
irrespective of its age or any other mental barriers.
Self awareness skills: Self awareness skills also play crucial role in improving perceptions.
Children’s face many problems related to perception while having conversation with others.
Self awareness skills will develop the habit to search information from different informative

mediums. Self awareness will enable children’s to deal with lack of understanding as well in
order to make effective communication.
All the skills mentioned above will drive the children’s in making an effective
communication.
Resources to overcome communication barriers
Resources play effective role in order to overcome barriers. Following resource scan
be utilised in overcoming communication barriers.
Personal guidance: In order to develop different skills in children’s in order to improve
communication personal guidance of parents will be an effective tool (Schulz, 2018). Parents
and guardians play an effective role in the growth process of children’s. By guiding
children’s in right direction parents can improve the overall personality of kids and also to
improve the communication skills.
Internet: Internet is also an effective resource tool that can be utilised in order to develop an
effective communication skill in children’s. With the support of online videos over internet
children’s can develop all the skills like active listening skill, interaction skills and other
associated skilled require for communication. Internet will also guide in analysing the
suitable development in the skills.
Motivation: Motivation is also a crucial resource can be channelizing in order to grow
different skills required to improve communication skill. Guardian and teachers can play an
effective role in improving motivation level in children’s in respect to putting efforts for
developing different skills and communication.
Teachers: Teachers play an important role in the growth process of children’s. Teachers can
guide children’s and kids to develop communication skills by motivating them towards
improving various skills required to communicate properly with any individual (Seltzer and
et.al., 2018). Teachers can suggest all ways to children’s that can help to improve all the
skills and can also take part in assessing suitable development in children’s.
All the above resources can play crucial role in improving different skills required to
improve communication skills in children’s.

Personal experience
Based on the personal experience it can be stated that communication plays an
effective role in improving overall personality of children’s. Childhood is the growth stage of
individual in which many skills and abilities face growth process. Due to immaturity in
children’s they get to face plenty of hurdles and problems in making an effective
communicating with other individuals in society. I have identified in process to work with
children’s that they also do not aware about the needs of effective communication which also
not drives children’s in putting efforts towards making an effective communication. I have
experienced that most of the children’s issues while spending time with them that behind
making an effective communication is due to lack of awareness in respect to the need of
communication in human life. Technological advancement in the society also causes to some
issues in order to make an effective communication. I have noticed while dealing with
children’s that children’s in today’s generation are very much involved with playing games
over internet or other outdoor games. Due to putting plenty of time in playing games on
internet children’s dio not gets much time in socialising with other people in society. I have
also experienced that there is a huge differences in perception between children’s and other
age group people in society. Due to uncommon perceptions children’s do not get connect
with other people belong to other age group do not get connected. Lack of connection at
emotional level becomes one of the major hurdles for children’s in doing communication
with others.
CONCLUSION
This report have summarised about different hurdles children’s face in making an
effective communication. Hurdles can also be segregated into lack of understanding, lack of
interest, perception difference and others. Skills like active listening skills, self awareness
skill and interaction skill will play a crucial role in removing such communication hurdles. In
order to improve the communication resources like internet, personal guidance, teachers can
be channelized.
