INTRODUCTION
Personal Development refers to the way in which the identification of the overall
personal goals and objectives can be carried out which therefore helps a lot in ensuring that the
management of the personal needs and requirements can be done in a proper manner quite
effectively and efficiently (Alibekova and et.al., 2020). Therefore, it is highly necessary that the
identification of the personal priorities for ensuring future development can be done so that the
future goals and objectives can be done. In this report, a detailed and specific focus will be made
on the way in which Personal Development can be done.
MAIN BODY
Scenario- I am a student studying in the university. I want to make sure that I am able to
bring out substantial improvements in myself so that I am able to attain my personal goals and
objectives in the future in a proper manner.
Concept of Personal and Professional Development- Personal and Professional
Development refers to the way in which the identification of the scope through which attainment
of the goals and objectives can be done in a right way effectively and efficiently in the future
(Cherry and et.al., 2020). Thus, it can be stated that the management of the particular level of
needs and requirements can be done.
Value of Short-term goals- It is quite important that the identification of the short-term
goals can be carried out so that the use of the right methods and techniques can be made for
attaining them effectively and efficiently in a proper manner (Horn, 2020). Therefore, it becomes
crucial to make sure that the identification of the short-term goals can be done. As a university
student, it is necessary for me that I am able to identify the short-term goals to be attained in the
future.
The students are required to set these goals because they are required to be attained
within a short-period of time i.e. Less than 1 year. Therefore, extra efforts are required to be
made on the part of the students which will help them to ensure that they can manage the short-
term needs and requirements appropriately.
The short-term goals which I have to attain in the future are as follows-
 Improvement in Time Management- I have to improve myself in Time Management.
This is required so that I am able to manage my time in a better way so that the various

types of tasks can be managed appropriately. This will ensure that I can effectively and
efficiently identify the scope of making a proper improvement in the future. This is so
because the scheduling of the tasks can be done according to the availability of time
which will thereby help me a lot in appropriately attaining the goals and objectives.
 Improvement in Communication- I also need to improve myself in the field of
Communication (Kurylenko, 2020). It is quite important that this can be done so that the
proper way of communicating with the people can be used which will therefore help me a
lot in the future. Thus, I have to make sure that I can bring an improvement in my
communication skills so that I am able to manage out my particular needs and
requirements appropriately.
 Improvement in Teamwork- It is essential that the use of teamwork is made regularly
so that the team goals and objectives are attained. Therefore, it is quite essential to
develop teamwork in order to succeed working in the team. It is thus important that I can
develop the teamwork so that I am able to effectively and efficiently identify the way in
which the use of cooperation and coordination can be made which will thus help in
ensuring that I am able to improve myself substantially in a proper manner.
Value of Medium-term goals- These goals are quite important and it should be ensured that
they must be set by the students so that they are able to realize the value of managing out the
particular level of needs and requirements in a better way (Lancer and Eatough, 2020). I have to
ensure that I set these goals so that I am able to excel in my academic subjects which will thus
help in the attainment of the future goals and objectives in a proper manner.
The students should make sure that they are able to identify the scope through which they are
able to attain these goals. They are required to be attained within a time period of 1-5 years. This
will help the students in being able to plan out their career in a better way so that they are able to
effectively and efficiently bring out the best in themselves and attain the sustainable level of
success in the future. In this way, the students are able to effectively and efficiently use their
skills and competencies in a better way.
The medium-term goals which I can attain in the future are explained in the following manner-
 Improvement in management skills- It is quite crucial that the improvement in
management skills can be done in a right manner. This is needed for the purpose of
managing out the different types of tasks in a better way. I have to manage out my studies

and also I have to make sure that I am able to find out my weaknesses so that the
substantial improvements can be made and thus the enhancement in the efficiency and
effectiveness level can be done.
 Skill development- It is important to make sure that the skill development can be done
by me so that I can find out the areas in Academics where I can excel so that good marks
can be obtained. Therefore, it is quite crucial for me that I am able to attain the future
goals and objectives in a better way quite effectively and efficiently.
 Improvement in Analysis and Interpretation- It is quite necessary to make sure that
the improvement in Analysis and Interpretation can be done which will thus help me a lot
in ensuring that I am able to develop a proper understanding relating to my subjects in
quite proper manner. This will be quite important so that I am able to ensure that the
management of the work can be done in a right way.
Value of Long-term goals- It is necessary that the identification of the long-term goals can be
done (Piscopo, 2020). This is quite important and should be done because these goals are
important for ensuring that the management of long-term needs and requirements is done.
Therefore, it is quite important that the students are able to realize the value of these goals which
will be helpful in enhancing the overall efficiency and effectiveness in the right way.
The students are required to make sure that these goals are developed by them because this will
be helpful for the attainment of long-term sustainable success. This is so because they are set for
a time period of more than 5 years.
The long-term goals which I can attain in the future are explained as follows-
 Improvement in learning skills- As a student, it is essential for me to make sure that I
am able bring an improvement in my learning skills (Smith and Burr, 2021). This is quite
important so that I am able to ensure that I can assess the scope through which the
improvement in the learning pattern can be made in a proper way quite effectively and
efficiently. It is thus crucial for me to make sure that I am able to identify the scope of
bringing an improvement here so that I can get good marks in my academic subjects. This
will help me in attaining my goals and objectives in the future.
 Improvement in understanding skills- It is also crucial that the students are able to
ensure that the improvement in the understanding skills can made. Therefore, it becomes
highly necessary that the development of these skills is done by the students which can

help them a lot to be able to get higher marks in their Academic Subjects. Thus, I want to
improve these skills so that I am able to develop a proper understanding of my subjects
and attain good marks in these subjects.
 Identification of Career Development opportunities- It is quite important that the
identification of career development opportunities is done. This is very essential because
through making a proper use of these opportunities a person will be able to make sure
that the career goals and objectives are attained. As a university student, it is necessary
for me to identify such opportunities and make their right use for making a proper
progress in the future effectively and efficiently.
Value of a Personal Development Plan- Personal Development Plan is prepared by the students
because through ensuring its preparation they are able to identify the scope of improvement and
are able to enhance their own skills and competencies in a better way. Therefore, it is highly
necessary that the use of this plan can be made so that the students are able to attain their goals
and objectives in a better manner (Vasciuc, 2020).
As a student, I have to make sure that I can construct a PDP so that I am able to enhance my
skills and abilities in a better way. Thus, it is quite important that the use of a PDP is made in the
right manner for the purpose of attaining the personal goals and objectives in the future quite
effectively and efficiently. This can be quite useful and important for the purpose of ensuring
that the development of core areas of importance can be carried out (Yasvin, 2020).
Therefore, it can be stated that it is quite important that the use of a PDP is done for the
purpose of developing and preparing for the future so that the personal skills and competencies
are used in a right way (Zafar, 2020).
Thus, it is important for the students to understand the importance of preparing a PDP
and thus make sure that they are able to manage out their detailed needs and requirements in a
better way. In this way, the students will be able to develop their understanding in a better way
and will attain sustainable success in the future.

From the above report, it can be concluded Personal Development refers to the way in
which the areas in which the improvements can be made are identified and thus the attainment of
personal goals and objectives are attained. Therefore, it is quite important to make sure that it
should be used in a right way. Thus, it is necessary for the students to be able to ensure that the
right methods and techniques can be used for this particular purpose and this will help them in
ensuring that the management of the needs and requirements in the future can be done in a
