AI Summary
This research proposal investigates the impact of Brexit on the operations of the European Union. It poses the research question: "What is the impact of Brexit on the European Union operations?" The justification highlights the significance of Britain's exit and its potential effects on the EU. The proposal identifies the dependent variable as the operations of the EU, including trade and social relations, and the independent variable as Brexit. A hypothesis is presented to analyze Brexit's impact, and a case study approach is proposed, using newspaper articles, journals, and business reviews as data sources. The data analysis method will be qualitative, employing thematic analysis to assess Brexit's impact on EU operations. References to relevant academic papers are also included.

1RESEARCH PROPOSAL TOPIC
Organization chosen: European Union.
(1)Research Question: What is the impact of Brexit on the European Union operations?
Justification : The given research question has been chosen for the purpose of the research
because it tends to outline the manner in which the exit of the Britain is going to have an impact
on the overall operations which the European Union tends to carry out. This means that, the
Britain can be understood to be a major part of the Union and with respect to this, it is very
important to understand that the organization shall be greatly affected when the country exists
(Begg and Mushövel 2016). Therefore, through this study, the European Union`s operations will
be critically analyzed with respect to the Brexit decision being made and also after the exit is
carried out. This shall help in ensuring that the researcher is able to present a case study of how
the Unions function and the manner in which the member countries are dependent on one
another.
(2) Dependent Variable Identification, Definition, and Measurement: The dependent variable
as identified in the given research question can be understood to be the Operations of the
European Union (Nunez-Ferrer and Rinaldi 2016). The operations of the European Union are
characterized by the trade as well as the social relations between the country members and hence,
when Britain leaves, it is bound to disrupt this balance. For this reason, the operational efficiency
and ease of trade before and after the Brexit shall be compared and understood effectively.
(3) Independent variable: The independent variable in this research question can be identified
as the Brexit. The overall move as taken by Britain to leave the union and its operations shall be
discussed and its impact on the operations of the firm will be discussed accordingly.

(4) Hypothesis: The hypothesis which will be present in the question can be understood to be as
follows:
H1: The Brexit does have a strong impact on the operations of the European Union
H0: The Brexit does not have a strong impact on the operations of the European Union
In line of this, it can be understood that the basic aim of the Hypothesis can be
understood to be the analysis of the impact of the operations on the European Union after the
Brexit has taken place. The study shall help in understanding whether the Brexit has a strong
impact or not (Portes, Jonathan, and Giuseppe Forte 2017).
(5) Research Method and Proposed Data Sources: Case study
The research method which will be adopted for the study can be understood to be the
Case study approach. In this, approach, the overall reasons which lead to the Brexit shall be
discussed accordingly and in line of this, the impact of that on the organizations effectiveness
shall also be discussed (Dhingra et al. 2016) The case study will help in undertaking the study in
a comprehensive manner which will lead to the analysis of one factor on the other and will also
go a long way in understanding the overall hypothesis statement effectively. The sources of data
will be various newspaper articles, journals articles and other business reviews.
(6)Data analysis method
The data analysis method which shall be adopted for the purpose of the study can be
understood to be qualitative analysis whereby the thematic analysis will be made use of in order
to find the impact of Brexit on the European Union Operations.
