Assignment 4: Library Modules 4, 5, and 6
Focusing on the readings in modules 4, 5 and 6, there are materials that will be helpful in
my research process. These materials include the peer-reviewed publications regarding the
problems faced by young children in today life. In my research, I will as well focus brief articles
obesity problem in small children. The materials I have selected will be so helpful in this
research since it will me all the information regarding the three challenges that are facing young
children in modern society. The obesity articles will give the information regarding which age in
children is mostly affected by the same and the steps to be taken so that the same problem can be
prevented. I will focus on some novels which focus on challenges on the early maturity of the
young children mostly caused by the exposure of the children to the high technology.
Reflecting the writing from the modules 4 and 5, I feel eager in getting to the research
process in the reflection of the two research questions on three problems facing children today
and the influence of the media in mirror concern of the word. My concern is the formulation of
the hypothesis and the aim of the research. Children are facing some challenges as compared to
the older generation. In held generation were not much connected to issues concerning the
technology but in the young generation today most of the challenges are mostly caused by the
effects of the technology. Older generation mostly related to natural food hence there was
minimal cases of the obesity. They were brought up without the influence of the technology and
children could mature according to their stages but this generation is fed by so many things that
make them know more than they are supposed. I will assume that children pass through the same
three challenges discussed in the below depending on the responsibility of their parents. I am
more concern about parent’s responsibility to the moral and healthy growth of their children. My
question of concern to the parents on why should they keep their children on standards that will

build their moral development as well as their health status. I will elaborate more of the research
questions in below concerns.
The three main problems facing the young people in the today life are; early maturity of
the young people, obesity and violence in schools. These challenges are mostly caused by the
rapid development of the technology and world (Meyer & Chetty, 2017. p.121-122). The
challenges have obstructed the young people from facing the reality of the world in the real
vision of their age. In fact, most of the young children have been exposed to things which are not
fit at their age. Things exposed to the young people have influenced their moral values and act as
mature people yet they are too young for. The films programs brought about by development of
the technology have impacted the mind of the young people (Lafortuna et al, 2014. P. 591). The
violence is experienced in the school following the fact that young people are exposed to the
violence programs in media and other visual means. There is much of the extensive knowledge
and skills which is brought about by the technology and this has brought violence mindset and
exposure of the young people to things that they are not supposed to be in their mind at their age
(Smith et al, 2015.p.1022). Small children are very attracted by the violence program and this
ruins their mind and creates the atmosphere of violence in their mind. This is main reason why
there is so much of the violence in school and other social learning institution. Another issue is
obesity in young people due to consumption of unhealthy food. Consumption of unhealthy has
become like a habit in human simply because they are following processed food brought by the
technology and this has caused the obesity problem in young people.
Media has great influence of what we see in the mirror following the fact that media are
the mainly used for the presentation of the progressive ranks of different people. Media

nowadays is acting as the eye of the word since everything happening in the world is brought to
the eyes of people through media (Hiebert & Gibbons, 2017. p.78). Nowadays, it all about
browsing in the media platform or social media pages and get in touch with all what is happening
within the given area or even the whole world. The reaction of the people to the media shows
clearly that it has changed the way people look over things and their characteristics. Many people
are using media for their advertisement and every their details can be reached any given time.
The goodness of the media as the mirror of the word is based on how one uses it. Some people
are using the media as their mirror in wrong ways (Hiebert & Gibbons, 2017. p.80). Most of the
illegal activities are done through influence of the media. It is through media that most of the
young people moral values are ruined and becoming lazy. It is very fact most of the young
people are not more of the researchers following the fact that all the information they need it’s
just matter of reaching the media and get all the tips. Most of the activities done by the people
across the world are well directed and characterized by the media as their mirror. It is, therefore,
true that media has influenced what we do in our daily activities across the world.
