• Nursing interventions are found to be very simple and effective for management of
chronic pain and it is best considered instead of pharmacological treatment.
• Management of acute pain can prevent disorders and often chronic pain set with suffers.
• Some of the treatments that are promising include-Guided imagery, Sensory stimulation,
education, music therapy , magnetic therapy and cognitive behavioural therapy
• The improvement of patient outcomes is enhanced by collaborative efforts of nurse ,
manager ,patients , physician and primary carer.

• As an enrolled nurse and part of interdisciplinary team will assist chronic
pain management by giving medications to the patient that give relief
for patient.
• Other approaches include relaxation techniques, acupuncture,
acupressure, massage, exercise, TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve
stimulation), heat and cold (such as a hot shower or bath, heated pads,
ice packs), visualisation, hypnosis, aromatherapy, reflexology, distraction
and music therapy, support from social networks, support groups,
massage, and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). Many of these are
selfhelp methods that patients can try. Nurses may also link with
psychologists and occupational therapists or physiotherapists
