techniques as well as tools that is used by researcher in order to conduct study. The research
methods that will be used to conduct present study is given below:
Research Philosophy:
It is basically referred as the set of beliefs and assumption which is adopted by investigator
to collect data regarding the topic. It is mainly of two parts that is positivism and interpretivism.
Document Page
With reference to present study, Positivism as a research philosophy is effective and valuable
(Ghosh and Guchhait, 2020). One of the main advantage of using this is it help in collecting
quantitative data within less time and cost. On the other side, it is associated with some
disadvantage which is it search for ideal standards and includes analysis which is too unrealistic.
Research choice:
It is one of the important part of an investigation that is mainly of two types that is
qualitative and quantitative. For the present study, quantitative research choice is appropriate and
effective. One of the main advantage of using this is it help in collecting that is based on facts
and figures and is in numerical form. On the other hand, it is limited to statistical relationships
that can lead investigator to overlook broader themes.
Data collection:
The procedure which is adopted by investigator with the objective to collect and using
information is referred as data collection. It is divided into two types that is primary and
secondary. In relation to present study, primary data collection method will be applied as it help
in gaining in-depth knowledge about topic and is include collection of information directly from
the source which is one of its advantages (Mruck and Mey, 2019). On the other hand, it include
high time and cost to researcher that has negative impact on research outcome.
Research instruments:
It is referred as the techniques which is adopted and applied by researcher to gather
information. The different research instruments are questionnaire, observation, interview, focus
group etc. With reference to present study, questionnaire will be used as it help in collecting
primary data directly from the source that further leads to development of valid and reliable
conclusion.
Sampling:
The process which is applied by research worker for selecting the appropriate sample size
from the total population in order to conduct study. The two types of sampling are probability
and non-probability sampling (Messineo et. al., 2021). In context to present investigation,
random sampling which is a part of probability sampling is taken into consideration. The 30
employees of Tesco is chosen on random basis and the main reason to select employees is they

have knowledge about ground workings of company and can provide appropriate knowledge to
researcher.
Data analysis:
It is defined as analysis of collected information with the objective to develop effective
findings. It is mainly of two types that is frequency distribution analysis, thematic analysis and
so on. With reference to present investigation, frequency distribution analysis is appropriate. One
of the main advantage of using this is it help in analysing primary data and also assist to develop
meaningful findings. On the other side, it does not include the individual data because of which
researcher need to rearrange data properly.
Ethical considerations
It is important for researcher to follow all the ethical principles as it assist to conduct study
without any issues and delays. The various ethical principles are informed consent,
confidentiality, anonymity and so on (Teo, 2021). In context to the present study, a consent sheet
will be signed by respondents and an appropriate knowledge is given to them about the research
objectives. Moreover, the collected data is only access by researcher that ensure the information
collected from respondents is secured.
Proposed Timescale
Gantt chart is defined as a project management tool which illustrates each and every activity
related to investigation against time period. Along with this, it include starting and ending
activity of every activity that help researcher to attain set objectives timely and effectively,
which are as follows:
