CHAPTER -1 INTRODUCTION
1.1 Back ground of the study
In the contemporary business environment, there has been significant change addressed
by the management related to technology, business operations, product development etc. All
these factors have direct impact on efficiency and performance of an organization and its market
position. Therefore, management has to implement several changes in business operations and
job roles and responsibilities of employees for managing the business as per the current market
trends (Gravells and Simpson, 2012). In this process, corporate entrepreneurship training plays
important role managing wide range of training program. Apart from that it has been analyzed
that corporate entrepreneurial training has found very effective to develop and encourage
employees to become more entrepreneurial so as employees become more creative and
innovative. In addition to that this approach also plays important role to encourage staff members
for acquisition of a certain set of skills which are essential for special project of company. It also
assists employees for application of creativity in different job operation (Reece and Walker,
2007). The present study will be carried out to assess the of corporate entrepreneurship training
interventions on employee performance and innovation. In this regard, this report will evaluate
various aspects of corporate entrepreneurship training.
1.2 Statement of the problem
In the contemporary business environment, companies associated with different sector
are facing tough competition. Therefore, organizations have to review practices by conducting
active research of different factors of business environment as per the current market trends. In
this process, organization requires to new ways of practical flexibility, increase its capacity with
the help of new innovations and show more competitiveness (Inkson, 2008). The strengthening
of entrepreneurship has been identified as a most important objective for any enterprise in which
management makes efforts for building its responsiveness to a globalised and changing
environment. Furthermore, it is evaluated that organization will not be able survive in the current
business environment without rapid mutation and innovation (Training in innovation and

the present research will be carried out to examine the role of corporate entrepreneurship training
for promotion of innovation and handling of several elements associated with requirements of
different projects and business operations which are considered by management to assess
competitive position in market.

different companies can influence employees for managing with different job roles and roles and
responsibilities with an creative way (Eley and et.al., 2008). In this addition to that this report
will discuss the importance of corporate entrepreneurship training in order to enhance
organizational capabilities to carry out systematic researcher on new innovations and business
techniques that would lead positive impact on the competitive position of firm. Furthermore, the
present study will help manager for selection of appropriate skills development programs and
rewards for strengthen of employees capabilities and efficiency that would create positive impact

on overall performance of business entity (Kapp, 2012). In addition to that this assessment also
presents a distinct set of characteristics in a training program so as management can motivate
employees in order to innovate new products, new production process, creative marketing tactics
etc. so as overall performance of organization will be enhanced.
1.6 Rationale of the study
The emergence of globalization has provided various new opportunities of business
expansion for new as well as existing companies. It results huge business rivalry and market
competition among companies. In the situation, every organization makes efforts to enhance its
capabilities and market position with some unique products and business operation. This thing
has influenced importance innovation and creative approach with organization (King, Gulick and
Avery, 2010). Therefore, the present study will determine the impact of corporate
entrepreneurship training interventions on employee performance and innovation. In this context,
several studies have been carried out to assess the effect of employee training on their
performance. But, the present investigation will present some distinct views about training
methodology within business because it will pay extra attention ion corporate entrepreneurship
training interventions through management will be able to change behavior of workers and
employees will think creative while handling of different task (Corapi, 2012). Furthermore, the
current research will be found very useful in evaluation of impact of skills development process
on efficiency of staff along with productivity of company.

2.1 Introduction
The literature review is second chapter of study and it helps a researcher to develop his
knowledge regarding the topic of study. In addition to this, this section depicts the views and
opinions of various authors regarding the topic under investigation. The major areas which are
covered in this report are meaning and concept of corporate entrepreneurship training and
innovation, relationship between corporate entrepreneurship training and employees
performance.
2.2 Meaning and concept of corporate entrepreneurship training and innovation
In modern era, the competition among businesses has become so intense that it is not easy
for them to grow and achieve adequate profits. Now organization can survive only by offering
new and unique products and services to the people in the market. As per the view Fante (2008)
of corporate entrepreneurship is defined as the process in which businesses develop new
opportunities and ideas. These ideas and concepts are developed with one of the prime objectives

3.1 Research philosophies
Research philosophy is defined as the values and belief of scholar which supports in

positivism are the two common philosophies which are used for carrying out a research. Further

3.3 Research design

present study will be carried out by following the qualitative research method. This is because A
researcher selects a research method by carrying out detail analysis of different aspects and
nature of investigating (McGrath and O'Toole, 2012). In this regard, it is evaluated qualitative
research method is considered most important technique in order to carry out a research that
contains theoretical investigation. This technique provides significant assistance in evaluation of
different aspects of human behavior. Therefore, this approach will be found most appropriate for
current investigation in which researcher will be able to analysis different aspects of corporate
entrepreneurship training program and their impact on employee's performance. On the other
hand, quantitative research technique will not useful for current investigation (Vaivio, 2008).
This is because this method plays important role in evaluation of various statistics and data as per
the nature of research.
3.5 Target population
The target population which will be working people of UK which consist of the all the

3.6 Sampling procedure
Sampling is defined as the process in which sample are being chosen form large groups
in order to collect data regarding the study. It is very essential for a scholar to use suitable
sample and its size because it helps in getting the best and accurate information regrading issue
or problem associated with the study. It helps in developing knowledge regrading the topic under
investigation and also supports in achievement of the aim and objectives of study (Keitsch,
2008). Further there are two type of sampling methods which are commonly used to gather
information from the primary sources. Probabilistic and non-probabilistic are the two common
methods of sampling which are used. In probabilistic sampling all the samples have equal chance
of being selected whereas in non-probabilistic there chances of selection are not equal.
Sampling techniques: In the present research, probabilistic sampling method will be
used. Further the respondents regrading the impact of corporate entrepreneurship training
on the performance of employee will be selected randomly.
Sample size: After determining the technique of sampling, a researcher is required to
determine the sample size which is the total number of respondents (Chui, 2007). In this
study, 30 employees will be selected as a sample size and the information will be
collected form these 30 employees.
Sampling method: The sampling method which will be used in this research will be
probabilistic. As per nature of current research, random sampling method will be applied
for selection of an appropriate sample without any discrimination.
Sampling procedure: For selection of appropriate sample, researcher will follow an
appropriate process in which firstly, researcher will identify the target universe or
population and then investigator will select most suitable sample by applying an
appropriate sampling method (Garner, Kawulich and Wagner, 2012).
3.7 Data collection method
Data collection is the process in which a research gather information form suitable
sources regrading the topic of study. Further there are tow main sources from which data can be
collected and they are primary and secondary. Primary sources are the one form which fresh
information is gathered which is not collected by someone else (Jackson, 2010). On the other
side of this, secondary data is the one which has been already gathered by another person.

In the present study, both the sources will be taken into consideration. The primary data
will be collected from 30 working people of UK whereas books, journals and online sources will
be considered for collecting secondary information. The primary data will be gathered with the
help of a well structured questionnaire and only authentic sources will be used for secondary data
(Hapman and McNeill, 2004). With the help of both the sources, the scholar will be able to
collect more suitable and appropriate information regarding the problem associated with this
study.
3.8 Data analysis
It is considered as most crucial element of research methodology. This is because finding
and outcomes of study are greatly influenced by data analysis technique that has been selected by
investigator.
Qualitative analysis: This technique is used by researcher for evaluation of theoretical
data that have been evaluated in the from of primary sources through interview and
questionnaire. In this process, researcher carries out thematic analysis in which various
themes will be created as per the aim and objectives of investigation (Keitsch, 2008). In
the present investigation, researcher will use thematic analysis for generation of
appropriate findings.
Quantitative analysis: This method is generally applied for evaluation of different facts
and statistical data for generation proper outcomes for the study. In this process,
management uses different tools such as SPSS, spread sheet and other software for data
analysis (Vaivio, 2008). With the help of these tools, researcher will be able generate
appropriate findings.
3.9 Ethical consideration
At the time of carrying out this research, the research will take care of the fact that all the
ethical considerations are addressed in best possible manner. The information will not be any
kind of influencing information and it wont be revealed to any other person. The researcher will
also take prior permission from the respondents before approaching them (Merriam, 2009).
Along with this, the data collected will be secured and its privacy will be taken care of in the best
possible manner.

3.10 Validity
For ensuring the validity of information, researcher will consider valid and appropriate
sources for collection of primary data. In addition to that researcher will take an appropriate
sample of respondents so as investigator could generate better results as per the objectives of
study (Chutt, 2006). Apart from that researcher will use proper data evaluation technique through
which researcher will able to generate appropriate results.
3.11 Reliability
In order to get ensure about reliability of research, researcher will carry out detail
analysis of different sources of information and will select best tools which are most appropriate
in evaluation of human nature (Brace, 2006). In addition to that researcher will follow a
systematic time for handling different tasks and operations so as investigator will be able to
complete whole research within predetermined time frame.
3.12 Limitation of Research
In the context of present investigation, researcher would face several limitation that
would hamper the process of study, quality, scope as well as results of study. Some limitation are
evaluated under this:
In the current research, researcher could face some issues related to lack of coordination
among different activities of research that could lead negative impact on research
findings and delay in research operation (Jackson, 2008)..
In the present research work, Investigator could face some issues regarding collection of

3.13 Conclusion
As per the above assessment, it has been found that efficiency of research outcomes is
greatly depending on the research methodology that will be followed by researcher for managing
different research operations. This evaluation has concluded that different elements of qualitative
research provides reliable outcomes in order to carry out systematic analysis of theoretical data .
