In every type of business, employees are one of the important assets because they carry
out various roles and responsibilities. In an organisation, there are many reasons that influence an
employee to leave the current company and switch to another organisation (Mayorova, 2019).
The main reason that make an employee to leave their current organisation is company's in-
efficiency of identifying needs and requirements of employees. Thus, company faces issue in
determining needs and requirements of employees and developing competitive benefit plan in
comparison of competitors. Thus, this creates mind-set among employees that they are not
getting importance for their work and hence, leave their current working organisation.

Purpose of the research

The main motive of doing the current investigation is to record in-depth insights about
the reasons of employee turnover in an organisation (Bamfo, Dogbe and Mingle, 2018). This
report shows that how these reasons influence an employee to switch it to another company by
leaving the current one. It also gives detailed data about the strategies adopted by company for
declining the rate of employee turnover within an organisation.
Background to the research
The current organisation has focused over retail industry because it is one of the
industries which is mainly dependent over employees. Thus, under retail industry, ASDA is
chosen as an organisation. It is being determined that in retail industry, employees are leaving
the organisation (Ayodele, Chang-Richards and González, 2020). For identifying the causes of
employee turnover, this investigation is conducted. With this investigation, managers and leaders
of company will benefit as they can learn about various strategies through which employee
turnover could be reduced (Abel, Tenreyro and Thwaites, 2018).

recognition, negative organisational culture, lack of employment flexibility, poor learning

of testing the theories as it helps in measuring the hypothesis according to the numerical
