AI Summary
This report provides an overview of research and evidence-based practice within nursing homes, focusing on the importance of delivering effective care and support to improve the quality of life for residents. It justifies the selection of nursing homes as a critical area within health and social care, highlighting the role of these facilities in providing care for individuals who do not require hospitalization but cannot be cared for at home. The report discusses current statistics related to nursing homes, evaluates statements from NHS and NICE, and analyzes the importance of research in health and social care using two articles that contrast research methodologies, including validity and reliability. It also differentiates between qualitative and quantitative data collection methods and examines the impact of COVID-19 on nursing home staff experiences and the financial performance of nursing homes in relation to assisted living capacity.
