AI Summary
This report delves into the topic of children with exceptionalities, primarily focusing on learning disabilities and the Developmental Approach to Programming (DAP). It begins by defining learning disabilities and their impact on children's development, covering areas like reading, writing, and mathematics. The report then explores DAP as a framework to promote learning and development, emphasizing the importance of considering social, cultural, and individual learning aspects. It highlights how DAP helps children overcome challenges and improve cognitive development. Furthermore, the report discusses NAEYC's role in supporting DAP through various programs and principles. The report also outlines practical steps that teachers, educators, and parents can take to address learning disabilities, including creating a supportive environment, focusing on cognitive development, and adapting the curriculum. It emphasizes the importance of acknowledging individual disabilities, providing positive feedback, and promoting critical thinking. The conclusion underscores the significance of addressing learning disabilities and supporting children with exceptionalities through informed practices and educational strategies.

TASK 2
Introduction
Learning disability is a general term that means the problems in learning process and
development. The sills that are affected due to learning disabilities are reading, writing,
listening, speaking and difficulties while doing math. It became popularized in the year 1963
by Dr. Samuel Kirk who identified and addressed this topic (ldonline, 2020).
This topic is chosen as it is of great interest and is often misunderstood and
unaddressed. So, the secularities and the minor important aspects are often left ignored.
Hence, to broaden the measures that can be taken are discussed in this report.
Developmental Approach to Programming (DAP) in Learning Disabilities
DAP is a designed approach and a framework to promote the learning and
development among the young children. It focuses on the child learning and the social and
cultural aspects related to their learning and knowledge gaining. It is a well-planned and
systematic approach to make the children aware of learning outcomes and effectiveness in
early education. It improves the congenital development and helps them in overcoming the
hurdles and challenges that are often faced by numerous children (Courtad, 2011).
NAEYC work includes practices and approaches that bring out the best from the
children in their learning behaviour, using several pieces of training, counselling, conferences
and child programs (naeyc, 2019).
12 different child development principles are to be looked upon and considered. It
focuses on all learning and developmental zones that are considered to be important.
Learning and the development of the child go hand in hand. However, many times, learning
and development vary at several rates. It interacts solely with the maturation and experience
level of the person. It has been seen that the early experience has effects on the
developmental and learning phase of the children. The development of the child proceeds
towards complexity, regulation, and capacities. Children develop their minds and abilities at
its best when they are a part of a secure and safeguarded relationship with family and friends
and teachers. The learning is also affected by several factors such as a variety of social,
ethical and cultural backgrounds. The motivation and the learning approaches highly
influences ad shape their learning abilities (WebMD, 2018).

TASK 3
The learning disabilities can be well addressed and can be eliminated by various steps
that involve the active participation of the teachers, educators, and parents. A caring
community created for the learners with the learning disability is a first step that must be
taken forward. The teachings and the courses must involve the focus on cognitive ability
development. The curriculum must be set up in such a way that it covers up all the important
goals (University of Bath, 2020).
For a teacher, it is important to give a focused on the important aspects of the measure
that must be implemented at the individual level in acknowledging the disability and working
on it. Firstly, the teachers must acknowledge the cause of the learning disability by noticing
and giving positive attention. Encouraging the children with caress and the praises while
evaluating their actions. Giving feedback to their work and actions and with specific
comments to create a zeal and confidence. Avoid broad and generalized comments. Attitudes
and the problem approaching ways must be evaluated and modelled for more understanding
(Pamela & Nemeth, 2017). Instead of neglecting the shortcoming, the educators must be
demonstrative in their teaching process. Adding up the challenges and creating the hurdles
will help in improving the thinking capacity and abilities. Asking of questions and problems
must be promoted, which also helps in development and learning. The curious mind will
reflect the growth in the development phase. The learning and grasping process is enhanced.
Children must be regularly directed and informed about their actions and decision, which will
help in building efficient decision-making skills and will improve the responsibleness which
is required later in their life (naeyc, 2019).
Conclusion
Hence, it is quite important and critical to address the learning disability topic and
promote the measure that can be taken by the parents, teachers and educators in helping the
children with such exceptionalities. They must parallelly be informed about the facts and
basic learning about the day to day life, which will improve their learning abilities.
