1. Introduction:
1.1. Background of the Study (theme)
One of the greatest issue after pollution is sustainability of food. Meeting the demand of the
food has turned out to be one of the greatest issue that the world is facing. Hence, several
organisation has been struggling to meet the demands of the people and to ensure sustainable
development ( Nenni & Micillo, 2017 ) . The world has been facing continuous challenges to
meet accelerating demand for nutritious food. Hunger is considered to be one of the greatest
issues, which is the prime reason of mal-nutrients and deficiency diseases. The metric will
help to develop the understanding for the people wherein they can easily understand diverse
metrics within the holistic food system. According to Sukhdev ( 2018 ) , the metrics helps to
access the progress towards the goal. The component indicator and metric involve broad set
of stakeholders from academic, industry and government. Seven metric that help in the
determination of sustainability of food. They are a. Ecosystem stability; b. Food nutrient
adequacy; c. food affordability and ability; d. resilience; e. sociocultural wellbeing; f. food
safety; and g. waste and loss reduction ( Singh, 2018 ) . After the development of the metric,
topic experts are reviewing it further.
1.2. Problem statement
Meeting the demands of the people has been a great issue wherein every government have
been trying to meet the demand of the hunger of the people. Due to the lack of food, there has
been increase in malnutrition and various kinds of issues in children that has been effecting
the health of the country ( Prosperi et al., 2016 ) . The issues that has been observed is that
excessive wastage food is leading to hunger.
The rich people of the society has the freedom to afford food the food with highest
prices whereas the poor of the society is unable to afford food. Hence, the economic

condition of the country have a great impact on the hunger control of the country ( Gustafson
et al., 2016 ) . It has turned out to be one of the biggest problem that has been suffered by the
world.
1.3. Purpose of the paper
The paper has been developed to understand the condition of the food scarcity in the world.
The paper will help in the development of an app wherein there will be the seven metric that
will help in the determination of food challenges ( Drewnowski, 2018 ) . The app will be
developed in a way that will explain the food metric, which will enable people to understand
the condition of the country and help in the sustainable development of food. The purpose of
this assignment is to develop a sustainable food development that will ensure reducing of
hunger as well enable people to meet the food demand ( Rutten et al., 2018 ) . It will help in
the increase of the economic condition of the people along with reduction of food wastage. It
also ensure to develop the economic and social condition of the people. The struggle for food
will also be diminished.
1.4. Research Aims and Objectives
The aim of the paper is to develop and understanding among the people about the scarcity
of food and ensure that there is no or minimum wastage of food ( Singh, 2018 ) . It also aims
to develop an app that will make it easier for people to understand sustainability of food.
The research objectives are as follows:
 To understand the importance of food sustainability.
 To make people understand food meter and metrics.
 To suggest people to find better solution to the issues that people have faced due to
the lack of food.

The food print index has been developed in the app with the use of which people will
be able to understand the progress of the goal ( Melesse, Béné, Brouwer & de Brauw, 2019 ).

3. Research Methodology
3.1. Data Collection Method
The research paper has been based on two types of data collection method. Primary and
secondary data collection method. The primary data collection method is the way where the
data is being collected through surveys and interviews whereas the secondary data collection
is the process of collecting information from printed sources like articles, journal, books or
newspapers ( Allen et al., 2019 ) . The data collected for the presentation of the paper is from
secondary sources like articles, journals and books. The online platform is one of the best
way of collection of data.
3.2. Data Analysis Method
There are two types of data analysis. Based on the data collected for the paper, it is a
qualitative research paper. The information that has been collected is from the journals and
articles. For the evaluation of the qualitative data, there is a requirement of understanding the
thematic approaches ( Gutman et al., 2016 ) . The information that is being collected will help
in the development of the quality of the paper. Hence, the qualitative research will help to
enhance the paper.
3.3. Ethical Issues
Analysis of the research articles creates ethical issues such as often people face problems
in judging the work or article written by a scholar. It becomes difficult to analyse the work of
a person who has much more knowledge compared to the people who will be preparing the
research. There are strict guidelines that has to be followed in the preparation of the paper
( Freudenberg, Willingham & Cohen, 2018 ) . One has to under the research paper on which

4. Expected Outcome
Meeting the needs of the people along with development of the economic and social
condition is the prime outcome that has been expected from the research paper. One must
ensure that the app will help in analysing or controlling the food wastage as well as needs of
the people ( Accorsi et al., 2016 ). Every country must be well organised that will help to
meet the needs of every individual. Meeting the needs of the hungry has turned out to be the
prime outcome of the paper. The country must plan in a way that will meet the needs of the
people providing them with the necessary things that will help in the improvement of the
health of the people. There will be emergency that the countries must be aware of and ensure
that every citizen of the country will be provided with the best help they can produce them
with. Hence, it is a crucial factor that will help meet the necessity of the people. However,
there must be a statistical plan that will help in meeting the needs of the people. Development
of the employment of the country will also help in the uplift of the people economically as
well as socially bringing in changes in their food habits and reducing the rate of hunger.
5. Recommendation
Education of the public will help in the rise of the literacy rate decreasing, increasing
opportunities for the people to get job. With the increase in the literacy rate people will
understand the importance of food sustainability. That will help to meet every requirement of
the people. Moreover, the countries can develop or introduce ways of health care and
campaign that will make people more aware of the existing condition of the country.

Initiatives can be taken up by NGOs to meet the requirement of the people. The government
can start systems to collect fund that will help meeting the needs of the poor as well as reduce
hunger. With the changes in the economic condition there will be changes in the food
development and health of the people. It will help in meeting the needs of the people
providing them with stability in the community. Moreover, it will also act as a motivation to
live a better and healthier life.
