·INTRODUCTION
Overview of the topic.
The term gender discrimination refers to an action which specifically define
opportunities, privileges and rewards the individual or group because of their gender. With
practice of letting an individual person gender person analyse and formulate an important factor
to decide the job or promotion due to gender preference. This report is written from perspective
of TESCO that operate their business at global level and it is one of the leading organisation
which manage store, supermarket and retail outlets among different geographical locations.
Moreover, report highlights on research question, aims and objectives that are related with
gender in-equality (Akter and et. al., 2016). Research methodology and outcomes will also
include in this report to analys the work perspective of gender base results. Minimise of gender
discrimination leads management of TESCO to gain competitive-edge in market by offering
similar opportunities to all persons.

LITERATURE REVIEW
It is an essential part for the research which is used by the investigator for collecting the
secondary information related with topic. Sources to collected secondary information relates
with articles, magazine and book. With the use of all this resources an investigator collect all
essential information which is used to examine negative aspects of gender discrimination.
Literature review is an important part for the investigation that helps to render and formulate
suitable framework in order to generate specific outcomes (Chanprapaph And et. al., 2012). In
proposal different information is obtained by investigator but this is not sufficient to analyse all
negative aspects of gender discrimination. To overcome from gap, research question will
implement by researcher to manage research in an appropriate manner.
lWhat do you mean by the concept of gender discrimination at workplace
According to the Bailey Reiners, 2019 There are various task performed by management
and it is used by organisation for performing all work in an appropiate manner. In the context of
TESCO, their are different stores is managed by the departments and most of them are managed
with the help of a large section of employee's. In context of TESCO, this is identified by
management that person or individual from both gender are engaged in the company operations
and functions. So both individual either men or women must obtain similar opportunities for
performing their role in an organised manner. The law of gender discrimination is to esnure the
right of women and workforce. Sex and gender discrimination among employment undertakte
and involve perspective which is used to treat all persons with a similar perspective.
lWhat are the negative affect of gender discrimination on performance of Tesco
From the point view of Mackrell Turner Garrett, 2016 TESCO face the personal base
discrimination and specifically it is related with gender discrimination. Their is a cut or
deduction in the pay for night and weekend. Whether, both individuals serve for the similar
workforce (Darabi, 2018). Group of TESCO workforce take a legal action for performing work
according to decided employment rights. Biased decisions and less team-coordination among
workplace is a major negactive aspect for TESCO as due to gender discrimination workforce is

not engaged at workplace. The recent scenario, define that increase in wages of workers by 3%
for per hour and it is used to complete work according to decided standard. But authorities
generate discrimination on work basis as some employee's are paid more for their shift and on
other side, other workforce obtain normal wage due to difference in gender. This creates gender
discrimination among employee's which also demotivate the staff who face unfavourable
circunstances for same work. Employee turnover is a negative effect of gender discrimination
among the workplace as it increase cost for managing employee's.
lWhat are the different ways for elimination of gender discrimination at Tesco workplace?
With the perspective of Kamal Ahmed, 2018 it is identifed that TESCO is facing Britain
largest equal pay claim in which management settle the amount related with £4bn
(https://www.bbc.com/news/business-42968342). Thousand of women work for TESCO stores
that receive back pay with a total amount of £20,000 and as per the legal challenge their is a
demanding parity is taken by men that work for the respective organisation warehouse. The first
role to eliminate the gender discrimination is to support women for senior roles so all staff is
motivated by the steps of management. Along with this transparency plays an important role for
the management as it reduce the challenges by performing all work similarly (De Mel, cKenzie
and Woodruff, 2012). This includes equal pay to minimise the discrimination at workplace. But
the difference among pays of both person. According to lawyers it is identify that female staff
earn low amount as compare to men even the work value for both parties is equal. From
perspective of TESCO it is analysed that management tackle or deal with problem of equal pay
because more than 100 employee's face challenges so it is essential for government and TESCO
board of committee to take initial steps and legal action for ensuring right of individuals. From
the perspective of TESCO it is easy to complete all task in an organised manner through
managing and completing all task as per analysing the topic of gender discrimination.
lMethodology and data collection
Methodology section plays an important role for investigator because it help to collect
and gather all information according to decided topic. With use of different methodologies as
well as methods an investigator complete and manage their research in an organised manner.
Research philosophy, research approach, quantitative as well as quantitative methods are used by

the investigator for performing all task with more efficiency. Methodologies and methods for
this report is explain as below:
Research philosophy- The methods of this section relates with two types that include
positivism as well as interpretivism. With the term positivism philosophy researcher collect and
gather all information which is used to collect, analyse and use of quantitative information which
is related with gender perspective. On the other side, interpretivism research philosophy is not
effective because it is related with topic that helps for completing research as it provide the
qualitative data that make research for completing work as per higher amount of capital.
Research approach- This section define two types that is used to manage work with
motive of performing work accoridng to the areas that aids to complete research as per
quantitative data. This also leads organisation for completion of all work according to decide
approach as it evaluate data and information (Flick, 2015). Inductive approach is valuable but it
take time in completion of work. Therefore, deductive approach is implemented by management
for analysing the gender discrimination perspective. Inductive approach is not important for
topic as this provides qualitative data which helps to enhance the capital amount in order to
complete work as per research methods to complete work with time and resources.
Evaluation of qualitative and quantitative method- Quantitative research method
perform an important role for completion of task in an organised manner. It is also used to
gather all information by analysing task related with time-period. Along with this qualitative
research perform an important role that is used to conduct research according to decided time
and resources.
Primary and secondary sources- Data collection perform an important task and it is
used by researcher to gather and collect all information according to primary and secondary
sources. Primary research is used to gather information which is related with gender
discrimination and it is used to understand all perspective for managing work by minimising the
gender perspective (Gerhart and Fang, 2014). Secondary information is also used to complete
research to analyse the data for completing work in minimum time period.
Sampling- It refers to a process that is used to select the sample from total population
and it is used for managing work according to techniques which collect all information as per
research perspective. Probability and Non-probability are two different factors and both
techniques are beneficial for completion of work as per investigation. Moreover, probability
Document Page
sampling is more effective and this is used to manage work as per sample size. 30 respondents
are selected and the main purpose for use of probability research is to complete work with
primary sources.
Research instrument- By use of different instrument researcher implement instrument
that include interview, observation, focus group and questionnaire. This are the main instrument
as current study and questionnaire work as a valuable perspective. It leads investigator to gather
and collect information according to valid and reliable data. Gender discrimination is also
reduced by use of research instrument.
·Cost- Monetary amount work as a main resource which is used by investigator to conduct and
complete research in an organised manner. In context of all activities sampling method gain
access to use all sources as it help to complete all task with minimum amount of capital (Gioia,
Corley and Hamilton, 2013). This also work as perspective which enhance cost for research.
·Access- It is essential and important for researcher to gain access from the participants as this is
used to complete all research by collecting data in order to complete work with systematic
approach.
·Ethical issue- Different principle which is related with research ethics is used to minimise and
avoid the deceptive practices. Along with this ethical issue minimise and reduce the risk which is
related with research participants by performing all work as per research participants. With this
principle management complete research in an ethical manner by investigating and complete task
in ethical manner.
·Timelines- Time is an important part for investigator as it is used to complete research
according to the present task. Gantt chart work as an important tool because time management
help in completion of research with decided time as start and end of project. It also aid to
complete project in a successful manner.

Data analysis and intrepreatation
The term data analysis refers to the process that is used to analyse all information about
the topic. It is also used by managment as this helps in completing all work according to the
analytical technique because frequency perform an important role to complete task according to
quantitative data (Green, Camilli and Elmore, 2012). Excel is also used for formulating graphs
to answer research question. Qualitative data is used to analyse and complete work as per
questionnaire.

I am grateful because I gain the opportunity for completing research project on the
perspective of analysing gender discrimination. This helps me to analyse critical issue that
minimise the performance of employee's or workforce. Deductive approach, questionnaire
formulation and communication skill are learned and adopted by me for completing the research
in an organised manner. Moreover, questionnaire works an an useful method which gather
reliable as well as valid information related with gender discrimination aspect. It helps me to
complete all research task in an appropriate manner. The term research report is identified by me
for investigating overall report in an organised manner. From the perspective of gender
discrimination I understand about different approaches which is used by me to manage and
complete all research action in an organised manner and one of them is Kolb's reflective model
and it is defined as an experiential learning. All research information review, analysed and
evaluated according to this respective stages of research. With written down management
persons are able for completion of task with decided aspects and it observe about different
approaches which is used to analyse and observe all issue that is related with gender. Concepts
of gender are understand through observing areas which helps for performing work according to
decided situations. In last stage, experimentation define areas which is used to manage all system
that provide long term ideas to management for performing work with high efficiency through
reducing gender discrimination from workplace.
Recommendation for alternative research methodology
Interview is an appropriate method for research methodology which is used to gather
information according to qualitative information that helps in managing open-ended question
which is used for gathering the support with use of qualitative data in an easy manner. Thus,
researcher manage and utilise probability for performing research with valid outcomes.
·Conclusion and recommendation
Conclusion
With the analysis of above findings that are conducted in research outcomes conclude
that respondents are well-known about concept of gender discrimination. Different roles are
discuss which helps to understand the workplace environment and develop it with positive
approach by completing all task with motive of completing work according to decided insights.
This also improve organisation performance as increase in individual performance helps to
Document Page
manage workforce performance with retaining skilled employee's for longer period. There are
different method used by the management and most of them is used to complete all work as per
company strategy. Some recommendation for minimising gender discrimination is discussed as
below:
Recommendation
·To increase in positive work environment- TESCO formulate the positive work environment
in the organisation that enhance positive work environment for staff to complete their work in an
organised manner. Further, positive work environment minimise gender discrimination in order
to reduce turnover of workforce.
·Implement of employee's right act- The another positive aspect that is related with TESCO
define that workforce must be aware about their rights as it helps to retain employee's for
performing all work in an organised manner. This is also used for managing work as per acts
that leads to work as per decided policy of workforce.
