Introduction
Interpersonal relationship can be defined as a strong bond between two or more
individuals. When individuals get attracted towards each other, they get closer and eventually
form a strong interpersonal relationship. Social setting in individual’s life involves interactions
within society that also creates interpersonal relationships. In order to make these interactions
positive and useful, people seek gaining enhanced communicational skills to build effective
relationship. This happens when people feel good about their surroundings and in oneself in a
non-egocentric manner. Psychologists like Fritz Heider focused on behavior in interpersonal
relationship and suggested that individuals act as observers of human behavior in everyday life.
At several stages, it becomes difficult to be objective about oneself, however, too often people
relate to one another that are not aligned with reality ( Malle & Ickes, 2000). People who take
responsibility for their actions while being in society, are the ones who acknowledge their
personal power and interpersonal relationship skills. Likewise, when mistreated, saying nothing
or feeling victimised of flying off from the circumstances are the results of unhealthy responses.
In short, people need to control their thoughts and beliefs along with right command in
communication skill that reflects personal integrity which reflects only positive intentions to
maintain enhanced relationships and healthy behavioural practice.

and everyday behavior concept in brief. Since both the factors have been confirmed to be inter-
related in the study of social psychology by researchers, the proposed research and hypothesis
will be perceived to find out interpersonal relationship significance in everyday behavior of
individuals.

Hypotheses
Unique physiognomies of interpersonal communiqué can be discovered by tracing the
definition of the word ‘interpersonal’. In literature, interpersonal communication that takes place
between people may or may not be personal, however, exchange of ideas and communication is
shared among different people. Social Exchange Theory of George Casper Homans states ‘give
and take’ featue that forms basis of most of relationships through proportions that may vary
according to the intensity in relationship. According to this theory, interpersonal relationships can
never be one-sided as individual demands investing time and energy only when they get

something out of it. However, comparisons and criticisms can prove dangerous some times and
even ruin interpersonal relationships due to sociological burden. On the other hand, Hofstede’s
theory suggests that each society forms a pattern for living that must provide with sanctioned and
authorized methods for dealing with circumstances. In 21st century, many authors and researchers
have speculated about nature and basic issues within society that presents distinct dimensions of
culture where most common ones are due to modernity or economic evolution.
The minimization of relationships has been seen increasing in past few decades in spite of
the fact that major emphasis is been given to enhance interpersonal relationships. In literature,
there are many theories of development and growth in relationships that includes cognitive
approaches to psychology, psychoanalysis and attachment theory. Among all, the interpersonal
approach focuses on interplay between individual relationship and society that proves significant
for each other. It can be noted that relationship between individuals and their relational system
may not be linear, rather, individual behavior influence system properties that shapes individual
characteristics.
Expected outcomes

in the process of interactions that needs to be evaluated to focus on communication pattern
within inter personal relationships. Therefore, this research proposal has been prepared to serve
as a gateway for examining communication skills and their significance that act as unique human
behavior aspect in social psychology. Many researchers have made series of investigation
regarding emotional intelligence and effects of interpersonal relationships that effects everyday
behavior of people. In social psychology, reducing sufferings and improving personal ability has

been given much significance as they move along with each other. However, investigating about
people behavior about how they prove effective for society can lead to further justification of the
topic (Macula, 2017).
