Report
AI Summary
This integrated project report provides a detailed overview of conducting research, emphasizing the main stages such as identifying research problems, planning the research project layout, data collection, data analysis, and reporting research findings. It highlights the necessity of critically evaluating information sources to ensure authenticity and reliability, along with a broader understanding of the research topic. The report also discusses the importance of research methodology in providing a systematic approach to problem-solving and selecting appropriate techniques. Furthermore, it compares the advantages and disadvantages of primary and secondary research, ultimately focusing on digital marketing as a research topic suitable for secondary research due to the availability of information. The report concludes that conducting research with appropriate steps is a crucial aspect of report creation. Desklib provides access to this and other solved assignments for students.

Introduction
Researches are a detailed study that helps in collecting information about the topic for which the
research has been done (Ahn, J. and Back, K.J., 2018.). Their are two ways in which someone
can do research, the first method is of primary research and the second method is of secondary
research.
What are the main stages of conducting research?
The main stages that are needed to be followed in order to conduct a research are:
Research problems: The first step is to identify the topic on which the research is going
to be conducted. It will help in making planning about the study and the parts which are needed
to be included.
Research project layout: It refers to the step where the researcher needs to analyse the
sources which can help them in making research and can help in evaluation of different facts
(Davis, D., 2019.).
Data collection: It refers to the stage where the researcher must start to collect the data
from the sources identified above.
Data analysis: At this stage the researcher must analyse the data that is collected by them
from the sources.
Reporting research findings: The last step is to make sure that the research is reported
at the correct place and in the given time period so that it can be taken into consideration.
Why is it necessary to critically evaluate information sources
It is important for the researchers to critically evaluate the information collected by them as not
all the information is authenticate and reliable (Hwang and et. al., 2020). The facts mentioned in
the information may not be correct or true. The information must also be evaluated so that the
researcher can get a broader view of the research and can also analyse whether the research is
actually suitable for the topic or not.
What is research methodology and why is it important in research?
Research methodology refers to the way in which the problems can be solved in a systematic
way. It is important for the researcher to have research methodology as it will provide a work
plan which can help the researcher in conducting the research (Kokaua and et. al., 2020). It
provides training that helps the researcher in choosing methods, scientific tools, material for the

research. It will also help in choosing appropriate techniques that can unable the researcher in
conducting research effectively and efficiently.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of primary and secondary research?
Primary research is field research that is done by collecting original data where as secondary
research refers to the desk research
Advantages Disadvantages
Primary research Specific and have proprietary
rights(Remy and et. al., 2019.)
Time consuming process and
can contain misleading
information.
Secondary research Affordable and convenient Doubt on reliability
Research topic and method to be used
The research topic of digital marketing. It is a topic for which many people are curious and want
to collect information as this topic has came into light recently (Walker, D.H. and Rowlinson, S.,
2019.). The methods which will be suitable for this topic is secondary research as it will the
information will be available and the researcher will have a wide library.
