Week 5: Reflection on the final chosen area
HR: Benefits of ergonomics in work environment
I have seen throughout my professional and personal life that every day lifestyle of an
individual can change their health and psychological condition. At the same time, the changes
in both physical and psychological condition change the ability of problem solving, logical
reasoning, memorising, manual labouring and other factors (Ehnert, Harry and Zink 2013). I
have also realised that due to regulatory constrain most of the business organisation has their
occupational health and safety policy. However, the quality improvement of workforce has
been neglected. Ergonomic workforce management strategy is a different concept than
Occupational Health and Safety that ensures the improvement of the psychological and
physical wellbeing (Harvey, Stanton and Young 2014). Ergonomics has the very special
ability to reduce the presenteeism and absenteeism problems as well. I hope that finding a
proper adaptation technique can increase my ability to apply this in my professional life.
