Report
AI Summary
This report presents a reflective analysis of a research project, employing the Gibbs model to evaluate experiences and learnings. The student details their research on the impact of ineffective leadership skills on organizational performance within the UK fashion industry. The report progresses through the six stages of the Gibbs model: description, feelings, evaluation, analysis, conclusions, and action plan. The student reflects on the process of topic selection, data collection, challenges faced, and the importance of feedback. Key strengths identified include time management and topic selection, while weaknesses include communication and ICT skills. The action plan outlines steps for improvement in these areas, aiming to enhance future research endeavors. The report references relevant literature to support the analysis and findings.

INTRODUCTION
Reflective report covers all the personal experience gained by an individual while performing
any task. Reflective report will help the people to analyse their strengths and weakness and the
area of the improvement. The following report cover Gibbs model of reflection.
Main body
Gibbs Model
There are six stages in Gibbs model which are mentioned below-
Stage 1- Description
This stage will define the situation appropriately that what happen, who was presented in the
situation and many others (Li and et. al., 2022).
Few days back, my teacher asked whole class to prepare a research report on any business issues
topic of self-choice. I choose the topic “impact of ineffective leadership skill on the
organisational performance and productivity within UK fashion industry”. I asked my teacher
that whether I can proceed with the same topic or not. I god approval on the same day. I started
making structure of my whole report and identify the methods to collect data effectively. I
completed my report on time but due to few feedbacks from teacher I need additional time to
rectify few of the mistakes within the report.
Stage 2- Feelings
This stage consists of feelings generated during the situation (Sekarwinahyu and et. al., 2019).
This stage will describe the feeling of an individual before, during and after the situation.
When teacher approved for the topic then I feel happy because I choose the topic of my
knowledge. I already have knowledge on leadership skills and how it works to enhance
organisational performance. Hence, I feel happy and excited after getting approval from my
tutor. Secondly, I also feel nervous when I get first feedback from my teacher and she asked me
to change few segments of my project. This made me feel little bit less confident to complete the
research report on time.
Stage 3- Evaluation
This stage of Gibbs model will evaluate that what was good and bad about the situation (Austin,
Gilkison and Clemons, 2020). What went well and what didn’t go well with the individual who
is facing the situation.

As per my situation, there are various kinds of things which went well as well as which didn’t go
well with me during the situation. The things which went well with me are approval of topic, the
help of my teacher to mitigate the issues and obstacles faced by me while performing research.
Few of the things which did not went well with me are, I face issue in communicating with
respondents while collecting information. I also face issues to solve problem related to my
research like analysing data relevancy, data evaluation, preparing pie charts for data
interpretation and few others.
Stage 4- Analysis
This stage of Gibbs model will answer that why did things went well and why things did not go
well. It basically evaluates the reason of good and bad things happen during the situation (Akella
and et. al., 2021). I am able to complete my project on time due to my time management skill, I
work as per the priority list which help me to analyse which task I need to do first and which I
should do later as per the connectivity of task with each other. My topic gets approved at first
sight of teacher because I had chosen one of the most current business issues and the following
topic have wide scope in future. The support of my teachers helped me to complete the report
effectively. I also become late to take the feedback of my teacher due to which I need to change
few things within my report which took dew additional days for final submission. I am unable to
communicate properly with my respondents due to my weak communication skills and problem
solving skill. Secondly, I am also unable to perform computer related task due to my lack of
knowledge within computer related activities. I am unable to solve minor computer r4elated
issues.
Stage 5- Conclusions
This stage of Gibbs model will analyse the learnings of the individual from the situation. It will
further analyse the skills which is required by individual to develop effectively (Liu, Kitto and
Shum, 2021). This stage will answer the question “how could this have been more positive
situation for everyone involved?”.
While conducting my research I have learned knowledge about the topic as well as research
methodologies. I have also learned considering teacher’s feedback is one of the most important
thing in research. Feedbacks will help us to improve our work. Therefore, whenever I get any
feedback whether it is positive or negative, I should not feel demotivated. I must consider it a

way of self-improvement. I have also get to know about my few weak skills like communication
skill, ICT skill and problem solving skill.
Stage 6- Action Plan
This stage will define the way of improving the weak skills which are analysed above
(Zadorozhna, Datskiv and Levchyk, 2018). This stage will also analyse the way to act in
different way in case the same situation will faced in future by an individual.
I get to know about my weak skills. My first task is to prepare the action plan to improve my
weak skills. For communication skill, I need to communicate more with people and observe how
they interact properly. I need 6 months to learn this skill appropriately. For ICT skill also I need
to attend the classes to learn basic concept about computer. For Problem solving skill, I need to
solve case studies related to business issues and research issues and try to solve the questions
mentioned at the end of each case study. This will enhance my problem solving skill with time. I
need one year to enhance this skill.
Secondly, I will also make sure that I will consider to improve my feedbacks on time from next
time to make my report effective.
Conclusion
From the above information it is analysed that Gibbs model is one of the most popular reflective
model which have six stages, description, feelings, analysis, conclusion and action plan. This
model will help to analyse the strengths and weaknesses of an individual effectively.
